Job very well done. Exceeded my expectations.

We have had solar on our home for many years. Last year, a severe hail storm did extensive damage to our roof. This ultimately required us to completely re-roof our house. Since our original solar installer went out of business, we had a hard time finding a solar contractor willing to remove and reinstall our old solar system to enable us to re-roof. After comparing several solar companies we decided to work with ACE Solar. The team at ACE Solar facilitated the entire process including the re-roof. Also, ACE’s knowledge of insurance made the claims process easy. Their expertise helped us produce all the necessary documents for our repairs to be reimbursed. Highly knowledgeable and professional team took care of everything.

Exceptional.Exceptional job. I was very impressed with the quality of the parts used and the attention to detail on the install. You can hardly tell that I have solar panels installed from the street. Ace Solar took care of all the paperwork required, from submitting for permits to dealing with the electric company and the state. They kept on top of everything, communicating with me via email as necessary and delivered the installation exactly as they originally estimated.

After emailing several times (emails were all answered very quickly) I met with James Van Ness at my home to go over the plan Ace Solar designed for my home. James was extremely knowledgeable in the products and how the systems work. He also had an extensive engineering background and he explained why he was so confident in the products and strategy that Ace Solar had chosen for my application. James explained to me every aspect of solar conversion in a way I could understand and convinced me that owning was the best overall option for me. The only reason I did not choose Ace Solar was because we decided at this time not to do the solar conversion. If we had decided to go ahead with the project I would hire Ace Solar immediately.

Overall it went well

Crew of 2 showed up on time. Ran some diagnostics on our units to determine if they were working properly. Found the shut-off switch and restored our installation to normal working conditions. We will use them from now on.

This was an excellent experience. It resulted in a virtually maintenance-free system that is paying for itself and has increased our property value.Jim Van Ness and ACE's people brought engineering, construction and craftsmanship together to make our partially shaded back roof into a platform for an environmentally green and efficient parallel power generation system. Jim worked with us every step of the way. He found pricing sweet spots for quality components. He accommodated us on both terms and on scheduling. He is knowledgeable in a highly specialized area, a NABCEP certification teacher, and a true professional. He made the installation process painless. Over about 10 months of operation now, the system has exceeded production projections (despite a couple of months that were low due to snow accumulations). Jim also satisfied my large need to know a lot about how the installation and process works on all fronts. Had I not had that need to know and asked an abundance of questions, I'd have been happy in my ignorance about the many things that were involved because ACE took care of everything. The system runs on its own, often producing more electricity than we use (for which we get credit from PSE&G), while I monitor online and on a basement meter the production and other metrics as much or as little as I want (except for purposes of reporting energy generation to get and be paid for SRECs; a bonus). ACE is highly recommended.

I signed up for a 20-yr lease with a solar energy company based in California, and ACE was the local New Jersey installer - so I did not pay ACE directly, but worked with them through the solar energy company. Jim van Ness was one of the best professionals I've worked with on home repair/improvement. He was very flexible with my schedule, clear about what to expect, and responsive to my questions. Overall I felt that he cared about my experience and wanted to make sure I was happy with how everything came out, even confirming the placement of the conduit from the solar panels on the roof to the meter. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped me whenever I had questions. I highly recommend ACE for solar!

I spoke with several different companies about performing this work, but Jim at ACE Solar was one of the most informative and most willing to spend time describing everything to me. He came by the house to give me an estimate, and he made sure that I had all of my questions answered -- he ended up spending almost 2 hours here to do this. He was great communicating with me through the entire process of obtaining the estimate to scheduling the work. He was able to schedule the job faster than I expected. The workers on site were very nice and professional. Jim came by everyday to check on the progress and to work. He was great at communicating with me throughout the entire process. Since he was replacing existing panels, he ended up having to repair a lot of work that was done incorrectly by the company that installed my first set of panels. I now know that my panels are installed correctly, and my roof is going to last longer because of the adjustments he made. He was able to configure and wire my new panels in a way to increase the production of the system. I could not be any happier with the work they did. If I decide to add on to my system or move and want solar panels on my new home, I would use ACE Solar without a doubt. They are a professional, courteous company that provides exceptional service. They genuinely care about doing the best they can to give you the most output from your system and that you understand everything along the way. I understand so much more about my solar panel system than I ever did for the past 6 years with my older system. I enthusiastically recommend this company for your solar power needs!!
