I had been shopping around a while and looked at garage doors at Home Depot, Lowes and a few smaller shops. Home Depot had a neat feature on their web site that allowed you to build a door and price it. However, garage doors are just one of 10,000 items that they sell. I knew the install would be outsourced to someone and that if I had problems it would be a nightmare. I had previously done business with Overhead Door Company Of The Meadowlands and figured I would try them again. I was looking for an insulated garage door with a high R value so that I could qualify for a tax credit. They had a knowledgeable and pleasant individual out to my house very quickly. The person explained some problems he saw with my current doors (which were valid points), he made some recommendations based on my needs, he gave me a brochure and then he gave me a quote on the spot. The price was comparable to a very similar door at Home Depot, but this vendor is specialized. They live and breath garage doors so I felt more comfortable going with them. I placed the order the next day and they were installed a week later. They did an outstanding job with the install. Very meticulous. I never thought that new garage doors could make me so happy but I'm really pleased with the qualify of the doors, the qualify of the install and my overall experience in dealing with the vendor. I don't expect that I will ever have to call them again, but if I do, I anticipate a favorable outcome.
