The work started with a complete demo of our basement that hadn't been taken care of for the life of the home (100 years!). Carpet was pulled out, as well as flooring underneath and then all of the dirt and debris they found underneath! The walls and ceiling came down and the whole place was cleaned up. I already felt better! The guys cleaned the walls and added a moisture barrier in case of future moisture coming through the basement walls.

They installed DRIcore subfloor panels on the concrete to protect it from moisture and cold. We moved the plumbing lines on the floor for the baseboard heating and installed a new gas line in the ceiling so it wouldn't hang down so low.

New insulation was installed, then new drywall. The place was transformed! The stairs were in such disrepair, we had a new staircase installed. The windows were installed as was the new electric in the ceiling and new outlets. The bulkhead was added to cover the pipes. They gave extra thought to making sure we got as much head room as possible. The work began on the trim around the windows and baseboards as well as a decorative trim around the columns added a great touch! Lastly, the ceiling tiles and carpeting were installed as well as the whole space painted! And now my kids have a fantastic place to play and we have a lot more storage space.

They responded quickly with a very reasonable estimate for the work to be performed in the attic. Their price beat out the other quotes we had received for the work to be done. They were patient while we tried to come up with the best plan to make the most of the space. THey suggested moving a closet that was blocking the two rooms to open up the space completely. The demo started and the crew found layers and layers of dirt and dust from 100 years from the previous owners but they remained professional and continued their work to finally have it all cleaned out.

The new framing was installed, as was new insulation (there actually wasn't any up there to begin with!). Next, the drywall went up. What a difference!! The space was totally transformed into a large, sunny and bright guest suite to be used when our parents come to town. They suggested using some of the space behind the wall for a cabinet or bookshelf to maximize the space. We decided on two bookshelves that were recessed into the wall on either side of the room. This way, we didn't need to buy a whole lot of furniture because the shelves were on either side of the bed. Last, baseboards to match the rest of the house and paint was added to finish the job. It turned from a dark dungeon up there to an escape room for the kids and a wonderful place for our guests to stay. We were thrilled with the product.
