This is the second time we have engaged Steve. We have been satisfied on both occasions. He is reliable and very competent, and his charges are very reasonable. We would certainly call upon him again.

Charged $60 an hour, which was expensive for little and incomplete work. This was a patch, touch up to get ready for paint. In many spots chunks of spackle left without sanding and spots that were sanded dust left all over walls. I'm busy and don't have time to baby sit a contractor.

Was first to respond to my requests for pricing. Was punctual and did quality work, including on weekend, and immediately after a big snow storm. Well done.

Returned calls in a timely fashion, kept appointments, cleaned up an waste and dust and pointed out rust in an area that needed some wind reduction, saying the work should not be done but the window needed replacement, which was not part of his business.

I recommended Steve to 3 of my neighbors -- they all thanked me after hiring Steve. This past Sunday at the 11th hour, I need to move a full size mattress and its foundation, plus a dining table, to another place at the end of the street where we live. Everyone on the Craig List would charge me $300 (minimum of 2 hours labor + 1 hour commute). My wife suggested me to contact Steve. Steve stopped by in the afternoon, helped me to get the job done. The total cost? $53.50 -- I said to Steve: for me, this is not a deal, it's a steal.

Steve was great to work with. We are on the far end of his service area, but he came in a timely manner to give us an estimate and then we agreed that he would come out when the weather was nicer (since it was outdoor work and the ground needed to thaw) to do the job. He did good work and was very easy to communicate with (both over the phone and through email). I have already contacted him to do some more work on a rental property. He will be a great resource for all sorts of handyman jobs that I am sure will come up in future years.

Steve responded to my initial request in just a few hours. He was able to provide a verbal quote without even seeing the job and that was exactly what I paid. He was early to the job, took his time to ensure that it was precise, and I honestly could not be happier with the outcome. He is so incredibly nice and his work is great! I already have him lined up for at least one more job in my house. It feels great to finally find a handyman who is knowledgeable, kind, and reasonably priced. One more thing... The job was actually performed at my mom's house, which is outside of his normal work area, but he went out of his way to help out my mom. I couldn't believe it, especially since it was such a small job. He has definitely gained at least two more clients from our first experience with him. Great guy!

Steve came over and assessed, told me he could re-secure the shelf (certainly less expensive remedy) and he also built a new, second shelf above existing for additional storage. Steve did a great job, very fast and very professional and while I can't see I would look forward to having more problems to fix, when I do I absolutely will call Steve.

Steve is very professional - he is punctual, articulate, pays attention to every detail whether in his work or in answering an email. If he is busy one week with a former job that became extended, he will call or email me to let me know. He communicates very well. His prices are reasonable. Couple of small jobs - he gave me suggestions how to fix it myself because of the small amount of work involved. He would gladly do it, but he didn't want me to pay for something I could do myself. Steve is very organized and when I first met him to give me an estimate and to go over the punch list, next thing I knew he ran out to the car and fixed three things right then and there (didn't even charge me for it!) before you could blink an eye. If Steve is unable to do a particular task, he will let me know that it is out of his jurisdiction. Very honest individual, someone you wouldn't mind working in your home. I highly recommend Steve's Home Services for any work you need done in your home. I have called him back several times the past few months because he is trustworthy, his work is reliable and his prices are fair.

Steve helped us with the closet doors more than one year ago when we moved to NJ (picked him based on the Angie's List review). After that I want to get his opinions first when we have any repairment issues -- because I think he is honest -- he would NOT exaggerate the problem(s) to make you spend unnecessarily. Having lived in New York for more than 10 years, honesty is the most important criteria I am looking for when hiring.
