If you have. Lennox gas fireplace, you know how difficult it is to find someone to repair it. These people do. They arrive when they say they will, and the office staff is friendly and knowledgable.

We had a ver good experience with Hearth and Home. They came to our house after our chimney fire to give us an estimate on replacing our wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. The representative was very knowledgable and did not try to up sell us on the work we originally suggested. We then went to their store to pick out a fireplace. They were a bit busy so it took a few weeks to get an appointment for the installation but they came promptly on our appointment date. They worked for two days, one of which it was pouring rain but they still made it work. They removed the old fireplace and installed the new one without ruining the surrounding masonry work. This was particularly important as it would have cost significantly more if we had to replace the existing masonry work around the fireplace opening. As the fireplace was installed in June 2013 we did not use it very much until this winter. We have since used it almost every day. In January 2014 we notice the cauking around the fireplace was starting to crack and fall off. We called Hearth and Home and explained the situation. They asked us to send them a picture of the problem which we did. They promptly called us back and set an appointment to have their mason specialist come to the house a week and a half later. He arrived promptly on the scheduled day, fixed the problem by using a different kind of cauking and still made sure the new cauking made the fireplace look good. They did not attempt to charge us for the repair and explained why it happened. This was done only a few days ago so hopefully this will be a permanent fix but we appreciated their responsiveness and the fact that they owned the problem, promptly fixed the work and did not attempt to charge us for the repair. Our neighbors down the street have also used Hearth and Home and have had similiar positive experiences.

I called before a recent vacation, that was right before my installation was to begin and asked about the exact date of the pellet stove installation. I spoke to a manager at the store that looked up my name, without asking the spelling and told me that there was nothing under my name. I asked to speak to someone else and they spelled my name correctly, but told me that there was no date set for my new stove. I was frustrated but asked how soon they could get it done. The manager explained that since I didn't leave a deposit (I never got a call to do so or an email as promised) that I would be put at the back of the line and it would be at least a month to put one in at my house. I naturally asked how they would make it right and she told me that she could put me on the list immediately, at the end of the line, essentially doing nothing. She then told me and quot;it would be rude to others that have an appointment, to move them back for you.and quot; She told me that she worked for the company for 10 years and nothing like this happened in that time. I asked to speak to the owner, since he seemed very helpful, but she then told me that she would not let me speak to him. I would advise anyone looking for any stoves to avoid Hearth and Home as much as possible!

"Unfortunately, miscommunication does occur sometimes , especially in a seasonal business, such as ours, when the majority of our customers come to us in a three month period. I believe the owner told the customer we were scheduling around that time in November. We do not assume anyone would automatically want to go with our estimate. The owner came back to the store and sent out an estimate. At that time, we believe it is up to the customer to contact us to let us know they approve and would like to move forward with the job, and at that time we would follow normal procedure of taking a deposit and scheduling. If the owner misunderstood what he was implying, it was only to not appear pushy, which is what we try to avoid doing. We can get criticized either way.. I am sorry about the miscommunication , I think it is clearly easy to explain what happened."

Fabulous! 1 I would use them again. Their work passed three town inspections with flying colors. They were patient, informative, prompt and left work area clean, taking away the old wood fireplace screens and flue topper. The project entailed connecting a gas line into the fireplace box, inserting a flue liner, and installing the gas burning insert.

The initial installation was fine. But when I wanted the logs checked out 6 months later due to a bad smell, and also wanted to add a remote control, I could not reach the company and had to find a different vendor.

I was very pleased with Hearth and Home. They worked with me to get the exact fireplace I wanted,
which was something of a challenge because it had been discontinued. We agreed on a schedule
and they kept to it. The installers were on time, knowledgeable, efficient, pleasant, and did a great job.
The fireplace works fine and I am now protected for when the power goes out again in the winter.

Called for a quotation to do needed work. Appointment was made and promptly kept. Written quotation was given when promised, work was scheduled, mason arrived, and stayed on job until complete. Any questions, and requests were addressed satisfactorily.

I had to visit them three or four times just to get them to come and do my installation. It was more expensive than I thought it should be but they really did a good job. All in all I am happy with my fireplace.
