Plumbing, Well and Pump Service
We have been using George's for years, and all I can say is that they have never disappointed. We contacted them earlier in the week because our well pump kept running. They replaced the broken pipe in the well and the 35 year old well pump. They came on time, and Randy and Brett did an amazing job. They were professional and put everything back in its place when they were done.
Several days later, due to sediment which came out of the well following the fix (which is normal for a couple of hours), we found that our kitchen faucet was not running properly as the aerator in the faucet was clogged by such sediment. Unfortunately, because the faucet was so old (circa 1990....), I could not get the aerator off myself. So, we called George's again. They squeezed us in in the early morning, which I was grateful for. As is anticipated with an old home, the job ended up being much more complicated than it looked, and we ended up needing a whole new faucet as our old faucet basically crumbled when they started working on it. I can't say I was surprised as the faucet had been fixed about 3 times before and mineral deposits made it very difficult to take apart. Long story short, George's needed to fine a faucet which would fit our 1993 sink and then re-work its placement on the sink so that it operated properly, and they needed to do all of this by working within a VERY tiny space. We are happy to say that the job was successful, and our new faucet looks great.
As anyone with an old house (circa 1700s) can attest, "fixing" something is never black and white and usually another thing breaks while I am in the middle of fixing the first thing, but the team from George's has seen it all. We find them to be very calm, professional, courteous, helpful, and respectful of our home. They also work with the customer to come up with creative solutions -- especially in older homes. I would highly recommend this team.

Big issue #1: man from Georges quoted me a $600 cost to replace the air conditioner evaporator coil, and that was a non-negotiable conditon of their quote. (for the newbies, this is a 2-foot tall piece of duct that fits above the hot air furnace. It contains copper coils and aluminum fins that look like a car radiator).
Big issue #2: I never got a final quote from them, even after follow-up phone request.
Small issue #3: I had less dicussion about exactly how to run the pipes for my basic needs and more discussion about future add-ons. My request was to install gas lines for hot air and hot water and stove, but most converstaion was about future add-ons such as an outside grill and emergency generator.
Bottom line, when a different contactor did the oil/electic to natural gas conversion, it was seen that my air conditioner evaporator coil was in perfect condition (even though it was about fifteen years old). I saved $600 by not working with Georges.
I would give them a lower rating, but since I have not seen their actual quality of work, I do not want to overly skew the rating.
A differnet contaractor, Atlantic Air, got my contract.

We had a fairly simple issue of installing a new kitchen faucet. The old faucet was stripped and we couldn't remove it ourselves. It was hanging though still functional, but needed to be replaced. Over the course of three weeks, we called 3 times and were promised a return call to schedule an appointment. No one ever called back to reschedule. Very strange as we had uses this company once before and they were responsive Eventfully called another plumber who came out the next day and replaced the faucet.

I have been experiencing leaks on my hot water line due to acidic water. I have had 5 leaks since I moved in 30 months ago. Last leak I had to rip down a ceiling and decided I needed a water conditioner. I called Georges and was greeted on the phone by the owner. I explained what I wanted and he sent a rep right over. The plumber who came was Randy a very knowledgeable Man who did several tests on my water. Based on my waters PH, he recommended a conditioner and explained how it would work and how it would need to possibly need a softener after the acidity was neutralized. He recommended that we put in the one and retest the water after about a month the test the hardness. I agreed with this coarse of action he gave me a price which seemed very reasonable and asked when was a good time to do the work. He came over on the agreed upon day and finished the job the same day and left the room cleaner than found. I found him to be friendly, courteous, professional and willing to answer any and all questions about the job and future work I would like done.

Exceptional work. The team was professional, timely, and engaged. They responded to all of our questions immediately when on site and diligently via email when off-site. We would absolutely work with them again and recommend them highly. In our opinion, their work product was outstanding; they came up with creative solutions which worked within our budget; and they were careful with our historic home. Money well spent.

Plumbing, Well and Pump Service
As mentioned earlier, I have used George's twice. The first time, they came out to my house to look at a well pump in my basement (which I thought had a leak). They remembered working on the device years ago when the house was owned by another owner. They gave me some very helpful tips about the pump, and also confirmed that it did not have a leak -- I just did not have it ventilated properly so the moisture was building up all over the device and surrounding walls. They did a thorough inspection of the device and told me where I would need to do and quot;touch upsand quot; next year in order to keep things running smoothly. Overall, they clarified the problem for me very efficiently in 2012 and cleaned up my pump for a nominal cost and helped me to see where I would need to invest some touch ups in 2013. They were prompt and very professional.
Because of the above interaction, I went back to George's in December, 2012 to fix a leaking faucet with a bad o-ring. I had taken off the faucet but could not separate the parts to get to the o-rings as the faucet was too corroded. George's was the 3rd plumber I took the faucet to in the span of a week (including Lowe's) -- and they are the only one's who knew what to do. They looked at the faucet and determined that we were trying to disconnect it from the wrong part. They then gently put it into a vice and knocked on it for 20 minutes until the corrosion gave way to the o-rings. They replaced the o-ring and sent me on my way a happy customer. Time and parts? $10. Worked like a charm where other plumbers told me I would need to get a whole new faucet system because mine was and quot;too old.and quot;
Excellent customer service.

He did a very good job and I was pleased. He was very prompt and professional. He cleaned up well after himself. I think their prices are a little high.
