Hess Plumbing & Drain Cleaning, LLC.

I was initially impressed when i called Hess Plumbing on a Friday and they were able to come the next day (said there was no extra charge for Sat service) to service a "clogged kitchen drain". The owners son came, snaked the drain and 1/2hr-40 min later I paid $280 (that included the $30 online discount coupon) to clear the drain. Later that evening i noticed some water laying in the drain and by the next evening the drain was clogged and my sink was filled with water. Same exact symptoms as the original service call I called Hess Plumbing first thing on Mon AM and scheduled a follow up appt I was told that if they come and find a different cause, there would be an additional charge. The follow up visit was diagnosed as "food stuck in the garbage disposal" at an additional charge of $116 When I called and spoke directly with Mr Hess, the owner I told him i did not feel i should be charged the additional fee and that his son did not thoroughly diagnose the problem on Sat .... Mr Hess could have cared less and he was argumentative and rude !

(The current address for Hess Plumbing & Drain Cleaning is: 117 Flyatt Road, Tabernacle, NJ 08088) Poor workmanship on the replacement of my sewer line by Hess cause $1,000 in damage to my concrete walkway and adjacent asphalt driveway. The walkway settled several inches causing the driveway to buckle.because they tunneled under the walkway instead of cutting away the concrete. A pile of dirt was left in front of my house that should have been used as back fill had they cut away the concrete. A representative of Hess came out to inspect the damage and admitted they should have cut away the concrete. He took photographs. Hess did not return my calls after I got the final estimate for the repairs. A complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau and Hess ignored the complaint. A complaint was then filed with the New jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.

I called and spoke with Jackson (the owner) about reviewing the leak in my upstairs bathrooms. I also had a toilet that was running and needed possible repair. Jackson sent his son to review the issues we had discussed, his son would look at various parts of the bathroom and call his father to describe what he saw and then repeat what his father said. His descriptions were literally 'theres a leak and I don't know where it's coming from, I can't tell' Any question I would ask would be answered with "I don't know I have to ask my Dad" He was able to tell me that his Dad said the toilet needed to be replaced but his answer to the leaking tub and shower was that maybe it was the shower curtain that needed to be replaced. It was clear to myself and the tenants that the leaking was seeping from beneath the tub onto the floor (and the stand up shower doesn't even have a shower curtain) and when I realized that Jack, the son did not know what he was doing or what he was looking for I called his father who was upset that I even called him and said "well haven't you ever seen water come on the floor from a shower curtain? That's a completely logical diagnosis, I don't understand your problem." I described to him where the leak was coming from and never once did he offer to come and look himself. I was disgusted at the lack of professionalism, faulty diagnosis of the problem, and lack of effort on his part to represent his company in a better manner. I paid the $94.00 assessment fee (for literally telling me that maybe it was the shower curtain that wasn't containing the water) and felt relieved that at least it only cost $94 to get this scam artist away from my home. I felt obliged to warn others to avoid such bad and unprofessional service.
