We worked with Brian and his team at Coventry to turn a tiny 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom, single floor "shack" (as my wife put it) in Oakhurst, NJ, into what is seriously the nicest 2-floor (plus full third-floor open storage) home in the neighborhood. 1k sq ft. to >2.5k. We could not be happier with the result, and have been recommending him to family and friends. Brian was meticulous, diligent, forward-thinking (which helped us save money/avoid issues in a lot of areas), and the quality of the work / materials is outstanding (our tenured handyman was just recently highly praising the craftsmanship throughout). Costs were kept under control, despite the inflationary backdrop. We wanted to make a massive open-floor great room, which other contractors said would be too difficult (support beams, load-bearing walls, etc), but Brian made it work. We wanted to raise the ceiling height by 1 ft, which another contractor said would make the project too expensive, but Brian made it work. Similarly, we had ambitions for the added second floor that were not simple, but were guided through all those steps. Late in the project we decided to also redo the kitchen entirely, and Brian helped us budget it in and navigate all the decisions. Cabinets, counter tops, flooring, bathroom details, doors, windows, etc -- we were given great advice and ideas along the way, and transparency on impacts to the budget. We were also steered away from cheap, lower-quality options, as Brian put it: "I am married to this house for the decades ahead, I can't allow you to make decisions that you'll regret." We appreciated having a builder who takes pride in the work. The project took about 8 months from when we got permits (which Coventry took care of... turnkey from architectural plans to the finished home). There were other homes being built/renovated 5-10 minutes away that we noticed started earlier and ended later. Compared to other quotes for the scope of our project, Coventry's all-in price likely falls in-line with the average, but with the result of much greater than average quality work and attention. Would highly recommend Brian and his team for anyone doing a large job on their home or a complete new build.

As a financial planner for the last 25 years, I have watched many of my clients hire builders to construct their primary residence or vacation home. I have witnessed firsthand the very worst and the very best of builders. When it was time for me to have a home built, I went into this process with my eyes wide open. There were plenty of local builders down at the shore, however none of them seem enthused or excited to build our home. I turned to the internet and found Brian online. Which this in itself to me, is a scary proposition for I had no referral. However, I did speak to references Brian provided and also reviewed any online information that I could find on Brian s company Coventry Builders. From our first conversation and subsequent meetings, Brian had the energy and enthusiasm that I was looking for in a builder. Now keep in mind, I was still leery for I did not know Brian or anyone that I knew personally who used Brian. We met a few times and after all my research and any concerns addressed, we began to move forward. At the same time, I hired a local building inspector to watch over Brian as we broke ground. Like Ronald Reagan…trust with verification! The building plan and timetable that Brian laid out was followed. The inspector that I hired continually visited the work site and provided reports back to me. Any concerns that the inspector brought to my attention, Brian had the answers. Over time, it was obvious Brian was always one step ahead of my inspector. Our home was delivered on time and in budget ( except of course for the changes that I made along the way!). Over our time spent together, I actually began to trust Brian s answers, and knew he was actually looking out for our best interest. Now, I never told him that. This will be the first time he is aware of this…had to kept him guessing and never show my hand J. We had no surprises along the way during the build. Any concerns or changes needed during construction, Brian kept me in the loop. We were able to build our home the way we wanted but only do to Brian s knowledge and tenacity. From the beginning, the town had concerns with certain aspects of the design claiming it did not meet town codes. However, Brian pleasantly persisted to look at the building codes to review the town s concerns. In the end, the town acquiesced and all of the plans were approved. An important note here. If I hired a local builder they would have just accepted any of the no's from the town. In fact, it was apparent that the local builders did accept no s in the past for many went to the town looking to duplicate what Brian was able to get approved. What I have noticed is that Brian is able to communicate effectively and intelligently, not just with me, but with anybody that he had to deal with during the build. I contacted Brian via text and phone on a consistent and constant basis (enough to drive him nuts I am sure). However he was there, and I cannot tell you how many communications we had, early in morning, late at night, any day of the week. I do not know what kind of service or contact other builders provide, but I have to say, I was impressed with his access and constant feedback. So, as you try to decide if Brian and Coventry Additions is the right builder to hire, know my experience with Brian and his team was fantastic. Let me start by saying that hiring Brian Keller to be in charge of my home addition was the best decision that I made. Brian is professional, honest, and a great communicator. His crew is fantastic and their work is impeccable. They helped build our dream home and they helped make our vision a reality. From start to finish, Brian made this stressful project feel manageable and it turned out better than we could have imagined. Brian is always easy to get in contact with and this is a blessing when doing a whole home renovation. He was always there to offer suggestions and to answer any questions we had. His workers were always prompt and on time. They were professional and sometimes it felt like there were 10 people working on our house at once. Coventry was not the cheapest, nor were they the most expensive. During the bidding process, Brian explained why his costs were higher than the lowest bid and explained that his quality of his work would be worth it. Not only was the extra cost worth it, but it is amazing to see how beautiful the finished project came out. He was on time with schedule, within cost and exceeded the quality expectations. His team was professional, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. The only negative about our project is now its complete and we wonâ  t see them everyday!

Great customer skills and workmanship

We purchased a home is Seaside Park that required major renovations and called multiple contractors and some were responsive and some were not. Brian from Coventry Home Additions was very responsive and accommodated our request to meet on a Saturday. We liked him immediately - Brian understood exactly what we wanted and he was very helpful with making suggestions. We contracted with him in March and as of this week project is just about complete. The house turned out exactly as we had envisioned with all credit going to Brian and his amazing team. All work done was outstanding quality, with keen attention to detail. I would highly recommend Brian and would definitely call on him again for any future projects. Brian is amazing!

Brian Keller and his teams were exceptional. It was a true partnership in developing a showcase and our future retirement home. Brian is an "involved" builder. As I explain it to friends and others seeking help with construction, Brian is not one of those "order takers." If you have an idea, he talks it through with you to be able to ensure you understand how something will look, or how it will function, and how it fits overall in the design and layout. If you want someone who will help you build the best, most comfortable and most functional place for your dollar, look no further. The construction is solid, the craftsmanship exquisite. He wants the owner involved all of the way along the journey. He and I even worked for a few hours by phone one night to get the best functional island space in the kitchen. I could go on. But will stop here. Call him and don't look back. You won't be disappointed.

We hired Coventry Builders to build a 2 bedroom addition on our home in Middletown. I cannot say enough good things about Brian and his team. They were always on time, on budget, professional, polite and knowledgeable. Brian helped us with design changes and kept us up to date on scheduling, inspections, etc., throughout our project. I absolutely would recommend Coventry Additions! Brian is a rare find in the construction business! He is professional is every sense of the word. Brian is honest and fair. His price was not the lowest but it was fair and you get what you pay for. There were no surprises or hidden costs at the end of the project. Brian and his crew took an old, closed in kitchen and created what I never thought was possible: a beautiful, open, farmhouse style kitchen that I LOVE!!! The quality of his work is top impeccable. The work is precise and meticulous . Everything came out better than I could have imagined. Brian has great ideas and suggestions and was honest when something I wanted was not a good idea. Some of the things that really stood out other than the amazing work was Brian's consideration to making my life easier during the construction. His crew was always here on time and their cleanup skills are impressive. I have a dog who I would gate off in a back room and Brian always made sure she was safe and didn't escape! After the kitchen, he remodeled the bathroom next. I only have one bathroom in my house and Brian was kind enough to reinstall the toilet each night so I didn't have to stay somewhere else. Brian was always quick to return a phone call or text and made me comfortable with the project every step of the way. The entire experience was much easier than I had ever anticipated. Do not hesitate to hire him for your next project!!!

We met with several contractors, before meeting with Brian Keller, and knew immediately that he was the guy that we wanted to do the complete remodel our home. This included adding a master suite on the back of the house, removing and reconfiguring interior walls and stairs, adding a new HVAC system, rewiring almost all of the electric and installing a new kitchen and 2 bathrooms....the house was basically taken down to the studs and rebuilt. I cannot say enough about Brian and his two main carpenters (who feel more like friends to us now), as well as his extended team of craftsmen. Although this project was very stressful, Brian did everything to make it as easy as possible for us...he offered suggestions when we needed them and guided us in making several decisions. Throughout this project, which lasted the better part of six months, Brian was always accessible by phone and addressed our questions, concerns and even project scope changes quickly and painlessly. And Brian made sure we were able to move into our new home in time for our closing....from the beginning, he promised "I won't let you down"...and he never did! Even after we moved into our new home with the remodel virtually complete, Brian continued to follow up on a few last items - just as he promised to do. And honestly, we didn't mind having him, Stone and TJ stop in a couple of times again....like I said previously, we consider them friends now. We absolutely love our new home, and couldn't have imagined getting through the project without Brian and the entire Coventry team. I HIGHLY recommend them...if I had friends or family that were in need of remodeling, I wouldn't let them go with any other contractor!!

I had an excellent experience. We needed our small bathroom completely redone. Coventry was priced right and they were only contractor that took into account it was our only bathroom and was able to reinstall our toilet after every work day. I love my finished bathroom, it only took 8 days to gut and rebuild into the brand new bathroom it is now. Brian is very friendly and accessible to my texts and calls. This was my first renovation and I'm thrilled it was so easy.

On time and on budget! Brian Keller made the entire remodeling experience easy! I relied on his excellent problem-solving to get around some of the issues in our old-ish house. We added a master suite on the back of the house, and redid the kitchen. The entire ground floor looks brand new. Brian came highly regarded from close friends of ours. We called in other contractors before we called Brian to at least have something for comparison. From the first night we met Brian, it was clear he was the one for the job. We did a complete remodel of our home that included new hardwood floors throughout, a complete new kitchen, and complete new master bathroom. Our family shore house was totally destroyed in Hurricane Sandy and we contacted Brian from Coventry Additions through this website. We were very impressed with him from the first time we met. We had never built a new house before and we could tell Brian had a good knowledge of construction and of the current FEMA and local regulations necessary for our project. He responded promptly to our questions, and kept us informed of the progress of our construction. The team he has working with him are very skilled professionals that perform beautiful work. Brian likes to see the job done the right way without cutting corners. We felt comfortable having them work on our project even though we lived 2 hours away and could not be there all of the time. We now have a new shore house that our family can enjoy for years.

I have had Coventry Additions & Remodeling LLC do two major projects for me. Brian and his crew are top notch. EVERY member of his team is respectful, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented. They are all skilled craftsmen that take pride in their work. They show up when they say they will show up. What really left an impression on me is that each project is personal to them---they never treated this as a mere construction site; they understood that this is my HOME. Each day I wake up, I cannot believe how absolutely stunning my home is; it's like living in a beautiful vacation home. Coventry sees the industry standards and soars far, far above them. Our home was kind of destroyed after Sandy, we ended up using Coventry to rebuild from scratch. We had a good experience with them! It was easy to contact them - never any issues with them. Quality was superb. Everything superseded my expectations. A great experience working with them. Even suggested some things I overlooked. Definitely.

Beware - The room was beautiful when it was initially finished. However, once it rained the roof leaked and slid out of place. Coventry has been out to correct the initial incorrect installation several times over the past few years and it still is NOT correct. We have been trying to work with Brian since February 2014 to get the roof repaired again and his response was that it doesn't make business sense for him to send a crew out especially since they have so much work now in NJ with Hurricane Sandy. As a result in November 2014, we were in a position that we had to repair the roof ourselves. Regarding the roof the contract reads "Polycarb to carry a 25 year warranty". The addendum to the contract reads "in the event that Coventry Additions & Remodeling, LLC is unable to fulfill the warranties contained in the 2/20.2009 agreement the warranties will be fulfilled by Garden State Conservatories Co, LLC".

From the second we met Brian he was personable, knowledgeable, professional & explained technical things so that we could understand. Although his estimate came in higher than others, it included everything with no surprises. He even took a look at a lower estimate we got & listed everything that was missing that would unquestionably be added along the way. As for his work, no one compares. He takes pride in his work & he and his friendly crew will repeatedly make the extra steps to make sure it looks the best; better than what you had imagined. I never dreamed I'd live in a home so beautiful!

Brian handled a major soundproofing effort, a remodel to remove a badly situated guest bathroom, and a deck. Great people to work with - very considerate of keeping the house livable through the course of the work. Great follow-through and dedication to getting things right. Coventry worked on a kitchen remodel - moving a kitchen island, installing new flooring, countertops and cabinets. We were happy to see that all members of the Coventry team were very skilled and courteous professionals. We also found that Brian could help creatively arrive at solutions that worked around the practical constraints of the space, and helped elevate the design and function of the room. The team was willing to go out of their way to finish the project in a timely fashion and take the trouble to develop a long-standing customer relationship.

We had Coventry do a 480 sq ft addition and it turned out very nicely. The contractors hired were real professionals, did good work and Brian was responsive to our wants, needs and changes. I'd recommend Coventry Additions to anyone looking at a major renovation project.

We did two projects with Brian and Coventry. The first was an addition to our first home for our new baby. Brian managed to build the extra room while I was home with a newborn. His team built a great baby room, without ever being obtrusive. They did such a great job that we hired them again to do a massive renovation on a 4500 square foot home we purchased. The results were remarkable, and he managed to transform our home from a traditional country style to a modern sleek showroom house. Brian was attentive, responsive to our needs and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
