We acquired quotes from several radon remediation services, and Tri-State's quote came in the highest. However, Nick is the only one who came to our house, looked at our floor plan, discussed our options and broke everything down for us so that we fully understood the whole endeavor. Also, the warranty period on the equipment he was going to install was longer. He really seemed to know what he was talking about, so it seemed like a good move to take his initial advice and install a membrane to cover the openings in our foundation to potentially reduce our radon levels to a safe reading before paying for a full system. He suggested we install the membrane ourselves and told us what to do and where to buy everything. In the end, we paid Nick ~$200 to install the membrane for us, and he did a great job. He said he would take that out of the total system cost if we proceeded with installation. He gave us a radon canister to re-test, but we accidentally messed up the results...totally my husband's and my fault. He said he would send us another test (which we offered to pay additional for), and he even told me he would put it in the mail that same day the last time we talked. It never came. Every time I followed up with him thereafter, he didn't call/text or email me back, and I tried to get in touch with him several ways several times. We still don't know if our radon levels are at a safe reading, so I guess we will pursue different avenues. Despite the fact that he dropped off the face of the planet with no explanation, he did a great job otherwise.

We like the proprietor and his assistance. They keep on running tests on the radon levels and when they didn't lower it to our satisfaction, they followed up and came back to fix it.

During the estimate Nick was very knowledgeable about installing these systems as well as many other general contracting issues. I was quoted a very fair price and paid the same price after completion. Installation of unit was in finished basement - concrete floor and concrete block walls. Clean and neat installation. He even had the idea of hiding the inside portion of the stack in a corner closet, so you don't even see it in the finished basement. I hired Tri-State for several other general contracting/remodeling jobs after this - I've been completely satisfied with everything.

It went very well. When services was delayed by snow conditions, I received a timely call letting me know there would be a delay. Then received a call later in day to reschedule, and was still able to be serviced that same day. Was provided an explanation of what needed to be done, and a quote. Work was completed that same afternoon. Excellent customer service, and reasonable price.
