However, the people he sent to do the work and the people in the office were mostly rude and kept pushing our job further and further back. This was very frustrating.
After the boiler was installed and the gas hookups run out to the different areas they needed to be they had to come back as they hadn't actually finished the job. Our fireplace's hook-up was in the basement, not in the fireplace, and the gas grill hook-up hadn't been done at all. In addition, one of the radiator valves was broken by a workman when he opened it with his wrench. This involved another visit to get it replaced and then Tim tried to charge me $400 even though I had supplied the part ($20) and the workman did the job in about 15 minutes.
After the radiators seemed to not be working correctly (spitting vents and the closest radiators not really getting hot while the ones further away were VERY hot) I decided to investigate. The boiler was not piped correctly at all, this was evidenced by looking at the instructions that came with the boiler. This would also void the warranty on the boiler if something goes wrong and they see that the piping was not done according to their instructions. Tim will not come out and fix the work even though the contract has a 1 year labor warranty.
The price i was quoted was a decent price, but adding in the headache of constantly calling to try and get this work done as well as the headache of trying to get the work fixed makes the price feel extremely expensive.
