I have used Boredom Busters for daily dog walking services for my beagle for almost 2 years. I highly recommend them.
Boredom Busters' walkers provide excellent service: they are friendly, reliable, responsive, trustworthy, and have always followed our special instructions. For 3 months, we fostered a rescue dog, which had extensive medical problems and could not be walked with our other dog. Our Boredom Busters' walker went out of her way to accommodate both dogs' special needs. Each day, the walker leaves a detailed note of her visit. We work far from home, and it has been an enormous relief to have their walkers checking in on our dog (and the house) each day. They have opened windows and turned up/down the heat when we've forgotten to do it and much more.
The company's owner, Lisa, is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and has many years of experience working with them. She is very friendly, professional, and responsive. She has gone out of her way on many occasions to provide amazing service.
The business is very well-run. For new clients, Lisa will set up a free consultation and the walker will customize care for your pet. They have solid policies and they have back up plans when a walker is out sick or on vacation. For daily walks, you can set up automatic payment by credit card, which is very convenient. Again, whether it is the walker, the owner, or the office assistant, the staff is very responsive.

Providers have been very courteous and professional. I feel at ease leaving on vacation knowing my dogs will be well taken care of. Dog walkers will also get mail, water plants and rotate lights. They leave notes after every visit with time of service. Highly recommend!

I do not recommend this service. We had contracted with Boredom Busters to provide dog walking services for our pet and they discontinued service with no notice. We received a letter from them on a Friday that indicated they would no longer be providing service for the coming week. If we had not checked our mail that day and called them to understand the situation, we would not have known that our dog would not have his midday walk. Our dog has severe urinary issues and needs to be walked frequently. Not knowing he didn?t have his midday walk; we could have had him trapped in the house for 12-14 hours, unable to relieve himself.
Our dog is a rescue dog, who in addition to his medical issues, has been through great mental trauma as well. He can be aggressive at times, by growling and infrequently ?snapping? and has been an ongoing conversation with the Boredom Busters. I completely understand that Boredom Busters would be concerned and want to discontinue service, if there is some chance their employees could be bitten. Having said that; we also received updates that our dog was ?a perfect gentleman? today and had ?no issues?. Our dog is a 15 lb Shitzu and has never actually bitten the dog walkers, so there was limited concern, in my opinion.
If Boredom Busters had concern and wanted to no longer provide service to us, then do so in a professional manner and not endangering the health of our dog. That is unacceptable. Bill in Budd Lake

"Dear (removed member name), I understand your frustration and disappointment regarding termination of our services. I sent a detailed letter and followed that with a phone call to you. I spoke to you and was under no circumstance leaving you unaware of our position regarding dog walking coverage of Max. Up until that day, we absolutely provided excellent service for you and your pet over the past 4 months; regardless of Max’s challenges. His behavior has been discussed numerous times with your fiancée; as well as documented on numerous notes. Those notes indicated clearly he is growling and snapping at our walker. I personally filled in for this walker during her vacation and witnessed his behavior first hand. While he is a small dog, there were a number of very unsettling displays on some days. On other days he was a gentleman and did behave quite well. Due to his extenuating circumstances (medically), we did continue service despite the behavior being displayed. However, after this last incident, in which our walker was most certainly almost bitten, I as the business owner, decided to terminate service. However, I did also state that IF you decided to work with a Certified Behaviorist we would consider walking Max under the protocol they set forth. That option was certainly left open. The inconvenience of not having a walker is certainly a frustration. However, the safety of my staff member is also a concern. I will not continue to send a walker to your home knowing that Max’s agitation level is increasing and a bite is imminent. He has given more than enough warning. Kindly, Lisa Seeger"

Boredom Busters has been walking our dog for almost a year now. They are reliable, professional and,most importantly, kind to the dog. The same person walks the dog 99% of the time so she has gotten to know our dog quite well. Karen leaves a detailed note after every walk so I know if anything out of the ordinary has occurred that day. Neighbors have even mentioned to me what a great job Karen does. I would definitely recommend Boredom Busters!

Lisa Sheehy, the owner, was extremely prompt in returning my caland was very nice and professional. She sent jess over to interview for the job. Jess is great, very sweet and calming around the cats. She braved the snow storm nor'easter to ensure that the cats got fed. While we were gone, I emailed Jess a couple of times (parental jitters) and she got back to me right away, assuring me that the cats were fine. We got home and it was clear that the cats were happy, fed, been played with, had the water changed and litter scooped. She even washed the cat bowls. I had texted her that we had arrived home safely, but apparently the wrong phone number. Both Jess and Lisa emailed and called me to make sure we got home safely.
Boredom Busters is a little more expensive than the others - they charge extra for 2 cats, whereas most places charge extra for a third, but I feel like I got my money's worth from the peace of mind they afforded me. I highly recommend them.

Boredom Busters are easy to get a hold of, reliable and have bent over backwards to help us out in some very short notice situations. This solution is far superior to boarding our zoo. It seems to suit both the dog and cat. In fact, we have never had a complaint from either of them.

We were unable to use our regular animal/house sitter so we needed someone. I used Angie's to find them and they are as good as the report led me to believe. The sitter met our pets before the day. They visited twice while we were away. Took care of dog, cat and bird. Did exactly as we agreed on. Dog was fine and happy when we returned, who can tell with a cat or bird! Cost was higher than our other sitter but they will be used more often due to their availability. They had a problem with the alarm but worked it out with the alarm company so everyone was safe and sound.

My dogs seemed VERY happy when I got home and they were not stressed at all. They seemed to really love the Bordem Buster staff....phew

We DO have this option for a 12 hour period overnight (such as 7:00pm - 7:00pm). This service does require advanced planning and is limited in availability. Our overnight staff can only accomodate one home per day; Having an opening during your required time period would be paramount. I hope this is helpful in the planning of your next trip.
