HOOD FLOORS

Disappointing. Upon recommendation, we hired Hood Floor, Inc. to refinish our floors. They were very prompt in responding to our call and submitting the estimate. We asked them to match the best they could the newly applied stain and finish to the stain and finish in the rooms which did not need to be worked on. We were assured it would not be a problem since we have common floors. We handed them the key and left for a few days allowing them to do the work in the house. When we returned, we were disappointed that the stain and finish did not match. We called the company and got lectured on how difficult it is to match. We did not expect such treatment, so we were startled. They expressed some comcern about the 50% of ballance we had to pay. As a courtesy, we gave them permission to charge our credit card, which they did. There were some other issues that we did not mention to the owner, such as the back door to our house being widely open for several hours after the crew had left and before we returned. We did, however, mention one scratch on the newly refinished floor in a visible location. We were assured that it would be possible for them to take a look at the scratch during the following week. They never showed up or called, and never sent us the invoice showing that we paid in full. I had to stop at their office to ask for the receipt. No appologies. We were very disappointed.
