Im taking the time to write this negative review to deter
other contractor?s and or customers from falling into the same web of
incompetence that I have as a both a contractor and customer of Universal
Supply Company Lakewood NJ
 
Iam the owner of a Roofing and siding company for over 20yrs
now, and unfortunately had the displeasure of dealing with Universal Supply
company, for a rather larger Roofing order for one of my customers, on his million
dollar custom home.
 
I special ordered Camelot ll shingles, from there ?new?
counter person Donna Marez, who after several earlier incompetence mistakes
involving another copper order, ended up shipping my surplus order of extra
material, only to be THE WRONG material. Leaving my customers home exposed to
the weather, for over a week, due to the fact the material had to be RE ORDERED
due to her incompetence?.furthermore when confronting Donna Marez on the phone
to voice the urgency of this ridiculous error on her part, she actually hung up
the phone on me?
 
At that point I took my argument to the branch manager Sal
Dimarco , where I told him how his new staff member had handled my account, the
dire situation I was now in due to her error, and he offered me zero customer
service?.in fact he barley returned a phone call, only text me saying there was
nothing he could do but now re order the surplus material which would now take
a week!....meanwhile the homeowners home is now left out in the weather and
took on water leaks although it was tarped to the best of our ability. I was
under the assumption the surplus material was the correct material PRE PAID for
already and could not foresee this?.
 
A week later, they delivered the material to the job
RELUTALEY waiver a meager $30 delivery fee! No other offers of compensation, or
ramifications for this unprofessional treatment and incompetence to date?
 
BUYER BEWARE: UNIVERAL SUPPLY and its staff are completey
incompetent, and indignant they are unprofessional and offer zero customer
support to its loyal customers. Donna Marez is an incompetent shrew of a human
being, who isn?t even versed in the facts of the roofing industry, and even
screwed up small common sense orders in my experience dealing with her since
they put in charge of my account.
 
Sal Dimarco as branch manager, offered me ZERO customer
service and obviously is clueless on the way this business works?This company
will never see my company?s business again, which Im assuming my yearly gross
revenue is apparently not important to their company, by the way I was handled?
 
As a final word I also wrote the President of the company to
voice my grievance (Jeff Umosella) which also has gone unanswered?.this company
is shoddy to say the least, and has a long way to go to live up to their very
professional competition ALLIED BUILDING SUPPLY WALL NJ
