Craig is a one man show (i.e., He works alone). He has 30+ years of experience and works for the love of the job. He has a highly competitive labor rate (almost 50% below the other local installer we got a quote from). Craig business style is very informal (no deposits, no contracts, pay as you go) and he proved to be very reliable. He is a licensed contractor and is insured.We found him through a local flooring retailer that recommended him for bamboo flooring installations (although he installs any type of wood flooring). He did an excellent job dealing with several sub-floor problems in the older parts of the house. He was very patient with our complex, 2400 sq ft job.. He gladly worked around our schedule (we did all the removing of the old flooring and carpeting) and the inconvenience of having to install half of a room, moving furniture, and then installing the other half of the room. Like most any installer you should not assume anything. For instance do not assume the installer knows that it is important to work out of multiple boxes to avoid a concentration of darker (or lighter) colored planks in one area of the floor. When your sub-floors are exposed, walk the floor for squeaks and screw down the offending joints. (i.e., Don't assume the installer will catch all these squeak points)
