Gary Plumbing Inc

Gary came out right away on November 29th and told me the vent damper needed to be replaced. He also added that NJR, the gas company I have a service contract with, would probably not cover the cost of fixing it. He said he would buy the part himself and fix it the next day. I still called NJR about the issue and they said they would cover fixing the furnance. NJR came on December 6 and replaced the vent damper. The next day, on the 7th, the heat was stopped working again, so I called NJR back. They told me it would take them 3 days to get someone out to fix it because they were so busy. I couldn't wait that long because it was so cold out and I did not want my pipes to freeze. So I called Gary back to look at the furnance again. He told me the vent damper must be defective and he would go out and get a new one and install it. He purchased the new vent damper from a store down the street and came back and installed it. I gave Gary the $200 for the check, $85 for the labor and $115 for the part. He cashed the check right away. He came back on the 7th because the boiler was not working again. He said something else must be going on with the furnance but he could not fix it then. Today NJR again because I still needed heat and they came out right away. They cited another part that needed to be replaced and said Gary's assesment was incorrect. The vent damper NJR originally installed was not defective and therefore I did not need the one Gary installed. NJR reimbursed me the $85 for Gay's work since they could not come out right away. I have since repeatedly called Gary to give him his part back and get the $115 he owes me for the unneccessary part.
