Steven was the sales rep that came to do the initial walk through. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. Out of the contractors I interviewed I felt the most trust in them. It was an oil to gas conversion with whole home insulation. Just before I was to sign the contract with DH my oil hot water heater burst. I reached out to Steven and asked if they could get someone to do the repair. He said the soonest was three weeks. I then had to find someone to do the gas line into the house and at least hook up a new gas hot water heater. I did find a contractor to get it done right away but they never completed the permit paperwork. I contacted the owner of DH , Dave, and explained the situation. I have in writing that he would cover permitting all of the new gas line as well as the gas line the other contractor had done. They came and did the job, to my surprise they subcontracted Air Experts for the mechanical and pluming hvac. I made the final payment as per the contract requirement and asked about the permits. Stephen said he would get back to me...never to be heard from again. They where also short about 15' of gas line they had agreed to install, my mistake for not having them put a sewing in the contract. Instead it was listed as all gas pipe. So after a month or so and one sentence response emails from David I contacted Air Experts directly. They where only half informed about what was going on and it was quite a process to get them up to speed. Now after almost 12 months ,July 2016, I still have an open permit for failed electrical inspection on my HVAC and have easily lost 10 days of work...for which I do not get paid for. DH is a typical cherry picker company with no after job communication. They get paid and they run for the hills. After dealing with Air Experts there seems to be a volatile relationship between these companies without a clear process or communication. It's a shame because the work done was good but that is completely overshadowed by the hardship it has caused me. In the 15 years of owning a home I have never had to do as much legwork on a project that cost me 15k. To make sure you are aware I absolutely did not give them a hard time about price and was a very accommodating customer. Paid on time and did my best to get them all the info I needed. Just an FYI Tom Devito of Ceder Grove NJ is the plumber who came and did the first bit of gas line and hot water heater in the emergency. Left me hanging with no permit paperwork at all.

They insulated the house. They did a tankless hot water heater.
The office manager was very hard to deal with. It seemed like she was putting everything on the back burner. Even New Jersey natural gas was calling them and leaving them messages and they weren't calling them back. We almost hit the deadline where we would lose a rebate that was going on. The office was not that great. Even talking to the guy, it was still kind of cold in different areas. They said they would come back and they didn't come back.
My husband took time off of work and they didn't come out. My husband is very understanding and just said, okay, come out tomorrow.
