About us

At ERC Environmental Inc., we pride ourselves on being the market leading oil tank removal company in all of New Jersey. We are fully licensed and experienced in the process of oil tank removal and soil testing. When you contact us for a free quote, we'll be completely up front and transparent - explaining exactly how oil tank removal works and providing you a single flat-rate fee that will cover the entire project from beginning to end. The reason we are contacted for a NJ oil tank removal is almost always because the clients want to sell their home, and the rusty underground tank is causing problems in completing a sale. Over time the old tanks corrode and sometimes develop cracks or holes, causing oil to leak into the surrounding soil, creating both environmental and public health issues. We look forward to building relationships with our clients and guarantee your satisfaction! **Free estimates provided over phone or email ERC Environmental also provides all your septic needs

Their staff did an outstanding job removing our oil tank from our basement and removing the fill line from in front of the house. They did such an outstanding job you are unable to tell where the line was in the first place. I highly recommend their services.

What could have been a disaster was averted by the professionalism of the EFC Environmental Co. Hugh Tat and his team were in contact with me the entire time. All paperwork, permits, fees and testing were handled promptly and completely. They were always one step ahead the process and anticipated any situation that arose. I recommend EFC wholeheartedly!

ERC quoted me a good price. They answered all my questions and showed up when they promised. The machine operator was very knowledgable and professional. He refilled the hole and went out of his way to create as little damage as possible to the surrounding area. The town inspector didn't show up so ERC had to come back to remove the tank. Overall it was a very good experience with no surprises.

RUN, IF YOU SEE THIS COMPANY! It is a scam, the Chief Operating Officer Keith Correal is a very dishonest person that would do anything to get as much money from you as he is able to. They offered me a $7900.00 flat fee for soil remediation and I ended up paying these people almost $20,000.00 and Kieth used dishonest ways, lies, and everything he could so I would not be able to get another company to finish the job... He would not release my paperwork! Then, he tried to sabotage the sale of my house by telling the buyers lawyer that the reason that he was taking so long to process the paperwork was because we owed them money, which was a lie, and I showed the attorney all my receipts! Otherwise, they were going to walk away from the deal because of these lies. NEVER MET SUCH A DESPICABLE, DISHONEST, AND IMMORAL HUMAN BEING. BE SMART, research this company and you will see. It will save you a headache and a lot of money.

ERC was easy to work with. They handled all aspects of the removal of the old in-ground oil tank. All the administrative work to obtain permits, schedule the inspection(s), scheduling the actual date for the removal was handled efficiently. The tank removal, filling in the hole from the tank removal, seeding the area was all done quickly and efficiently. We definitely received good value for the job done.

Stay far away from this company. Keith Correal of ERC treated me in a very dishonest and very unprofessional business manner. This company did not properly test my soil in an attempt to take me for thousands of dollars for a clean up that was not necessary. When I demanded to see the test result of the soil samples, Keith got very belligerent over the phone and only cared about payment and told me I could not get the no further action letter unless I paid more money because I had a big mess. He finally admitted that his company did not actually have test results from a lab and went only by a visual inspection and that I should trust his judgement. Well, I didn't and I am glad I didn't. He would only refund $390 of the $8,900 charged for the services not completed. ERC wants payment up front but then don't do most of the things in the estimate. They will not tell you how much they will actually charge until you have already paid them a lot of money with the understanding you will get what you paid for. They will just keep stringing you along milking you for every last penny. VERY UNETHICAL! After hiring another contractor which by the way are reputable and honest they properly tested the soil and found that the soil was actually in compliance with regulation avoiding a $30,000 ++ Clean-up that ERC was going to attempt to change me for a service that was unnecessary. (no big mess) If I had not demanded to see the test results from the lab this company would have gotten away with another bad deal. Please avoid the same mistake I made and stay FAR FAR away for this company. ZERO STARS.

They came and removed the tank. Before I could understand what was happening a worker showed me some oily smelling dirt and told me to call the office. The office started pushing for a deposit on a $9,000 remediation project. When I said I was going to shop around for a better price for comparison and asked for a sample of the contaminated dirt, they refused and claimed I was doing something illegal. End of story I got the remediation resolved using legal means for a lot less than $9,000.
Response from ERC Environmental, Inc.
"John, I am sorry to hear about your negative experience. The reason the operator onsite was unable to pull a soil sample was because he is not a licensed NJDEP subsurface evaluator. The sample taken would not have been a authorized sample to close out the incident number opened with the NJDEP. This should have been explained to you better. I am glad you were able to resolve the issue and again I apologize for your poor experience."
