Very well. They got the job done quickly, professionally, and at a reasonable cost.

Barrett tree service came in October to remove two large trees in the backyard. They arrived several hours late, and because of this, was not able to remove the stumps the same day. The owner said they would come back in a few days to remove the stumps and at that point once the job was complete I would pay them. Well, 4 months went by without a word. We actually thought they forgot about us. I come home from work a day in February when I see these guys with machines doing something at my house. Turns out it’s Barretts taking out the stumps! They never called to let me know they were going to do this. Just showed up in the middle of the day,l and removed the stumps. Now I’m left with huge piles of mulch, in the dead of winter and it’s supposed to rain! This may cause a sink hole! And then they wanted an additional $300 to remove the mulch! Who does that! Who comes without notice to do major work in your backyard. Completely unacceptable. We were at a point where we were thinking about just leaving the stumps, but they didn’t even give us that choice since they came without notice and just did it, FOUR MONTHS later. I was planning to have them do other jobs, but not anymore. I do not recommend this company.

They promised to call me the next day and never called me back. Unprofessional and not recommended.

Arrived promptly, did a great job, cleaned up all trimmings after completion. Excellent job.

The guys arrived right on time this afternoon and quickly got to work. They were very efficient and the job was completed quickly. The tree was very close to our house and they were very careful to make sure that nothing was damaged. The tree was down in no time and then they ground the stump. We're very pleased with their work and highly recommend them.

I thought it would be difficult to find someone to remove 1 large tree, but Barrett did the job. I called and left a message and they got back to within a day. They were out in less than a week. They cut down the tree, cleaned out other old shrubs, left everything clean. They even cut up the tree and other wood I had laying around into usable size pieces for firewood. All of this for a lower price than expected to pay. I would definitely recommend them.

They did a very good job, were efficient, and didn't mind going back to fix a few spots that I wanted them to modify at the end. They cleaned everything up and the guys were friendly. Took them about 1 hour.

John Barrett came promptly, offered prudent expert advice, graciously--and gratis. We also had him look at our back yard trees and shrubbery. He gave more helpful advice and didn't recommend any work, when he could easily have done so. Barrett Tree Service deserves their A rating and special status.

They were very nice and professional. They got here early and were finished within a couple of hours. Their price was very reasonable.

Over all Randy, John, and their crew did a great job. They left the job site very clean where you can't even tell some significant job were done. Also there was not a bit of damage to my roof or gutter where it was a bit tricky due to the location of the trees . There were some delay in stump removal but that was due to unforeseen circumstances and they did not collect any payment until the job was done. Lastly, they saw a stump left over from a few years back when I never had the it removed, they removed it for me without me even asking. I found out only after they have completed the entire job and that was a real pleasant surprise. Would recommend their service with no reservation.

Randy arrived with his crew on time. They promptly began to work. All was going well until we realized that they had stripped the trunk of a huge tree in the middle of our backyard. The agreed upon plan had been to remove the sucklings along the bottom third of the trunk in order to "clean up" the tree. The plan was also to have a worker climb to the top of the tree to inspect it and make sure it wasn't at risk of falling into our house. Unfortunately, the worker misunderstood and removed most of the branches on the tree...leaving a very strange looking, branchless 45 foot tree. We waved the worker off and asked where Randy was, as he was supposed to be overseeing the job. None of the workers knew where he was. They had to call him on the phone. Turns out that while our tree was being mauled, Randy was next door at our neighbor's home trying to get more work. Finally, he came back looking defeated. We were angry. He admitted that the job went wrong, but refused to take responsibility. He said he would come back when he could fit us in. We asked if he would split the cost of full tree removal with us (which was very fair). He said he would "think about it". We tried several times over the following weeks to reach him, but Randy never called us back. Of course mistakes happen. But Randy had a terrible attitude, turned and walked away from us and never attempted to rectify their mistake. His lack of professionalism and accountability is why I would caution anyone from hiring Barrett. You want to know that the company you hire has integrity and cares about the quality of their work.

Professional and honest.  Removed 7 40-50 foot trees with minimal disruption to the property and the lawn.  One of the branches had accidentally fell and broke siding of the shed; the owner, Randy, told me that he will not charge a penny until this is fixed; the following week he sent a professional who did a great job to fix the siding (and made it match the original color), and only then he stopped by to pick up the payment.  Also offered me advice on replacement trees.  Great guys to deal with.

They showed up on time and were very polite and professional Job went smoothly. Trees were done in a professional manor, trees were close to house and fence and the crew made sure noting was damaged. Property was clean after job was completed. I highly recommend Barrett and will use them again in the future.

All quotes, questions, concerns and scheduling were handled via Angie's list Messages board. Requested provider to cut down three pine trees appr. 30 - 40 feet in height where a power line ran through one of their branches. Provider was efficient, professional and prompt. If it wasn't for MY decision-making time, this whole transaction could've been done in 48 hours. The service and transaction went seamlessly. Would use again, and would highly recommend.

After leaving an email describing what I wanted done, I got an email back within about 1 to 2 business day saying someone would come out and take a look and give me an estimate.
Randy (owner) came out and looked over the whole yard and sent me a written estimate on the tree including stump I wanted removed and another old stump, but he also gave me estimates on two older stumps that I had forgotten about.  (I liked the fact that they didn't have to make an appointment to give me an estimate as this sped things up and I didn't have to take off work to meet them just for an estimate.) 
So, from the time that I left the initial email, I had a written estimate in about 4 business days. 
Barrett Tree Service was about 1/3 less than another estimate I got. So, I told them I wanted them to do the job and they scheduled me for the following week.
They (Randy, John, and 3 of their workers) showed up on the day they said they would and completed the job in about 3 hours and did an excellent job cleaning up. The tree I had removed was in the back corner of my lot next to a brand new fence I had just had put in and a storage shed, and neither shed nor fence was even touched. My neighbor even had them remove one of her trees since they were in the neighborhood.

Intially got a quote from John Barrett on 8/08/15. Due to some initial equipment problems they had and misunderstanding about the quoted price, the job was agreed upon and completed in November. To my pleasant surprise, I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the service. Two of the 3 trees needed a lot of work because they had never been trimmed before. After the work was completed all 3 trees had great shape to them now. They also picked up the leaves that had fallen from the trees.
Regarding my evaluation: Although I was unhappy with the time it took to have the job completed, I feel that Barrett's made up for it by doing a great job with the quality of their service at a very fair price.
