"hello mr. [Member Name Removed] my name is Elliot I am the owner for Tri-State Refrigeration and appliance repair services I apologize for the technician I went out there we have recently got rid of him we do not know about the situation we are not scam company we are a reputable company due to the high volume off work and technician that I have some of them bad apples my new Management Group are assessing new training for customer service so once again I apologize for the inconvenience you had with one of my ex employees."
"the must be a confusion because miss [Member Name Removed] when we went to her house should give me the refrigerator that was in pieces tenant told me they have called several companies and nobody wanted to touch the refrigerator because it was in pieces and then missing pieces so we'll try to work with young lady and it was repaired correctly she has a problem with the lead company that i deal with they are a call Center she had problems communicating with them not with us thank you."
I knew that something was clogging it and, after having checked the filter, I called and Elliot agreed to come in the afternoon. He showed up on time and they proceeded to take the washing machine apart to reach the clog in the draining pipe. Eventually Elliot had to leave but he left the worker there to finish the job (sorry I don't remember his name), He had to completely disassemble the front of the washing machine in order to reach whatever clogged the drain. After removing a pair of panties ;-) and a few coins he reassembled the washing machine. He explained that in these machines , it's easy for small items to be sucked down the drain and that the tenants should use a lingerie laundry bag for them in order to avoid costly repairs. He proceeded to check that the machine was working correctly after being reassembled and that the problem was completely corrected. The whole job took about 2 hours and the cost was $180, which is a bit high but not totally unfair. I had experiences with other repairmen that were total nightmares so, all in all, this was a very positive experience. It certainly was an expensive pair of panties!
Provider advised that a service call would cost $50. If he had to come back because he didn't have the needed part with him, the $50 would be applied to the cost of the part.
Provider arrives, removes all frozen food from freezer, opens panel in back of freezer and says the "sensor defroster" needs to be replaced, and that this will all cost $245, now that the frozen food is sitting around melting. The actual part, the sensor defroster" cost $24, which I checked with the Kenmore parts department while this was going on.
So the actual labor charge was $210 to replace a part and vacuum some dirt. Based on my experience with appliance repair people (I own 13 rental units in addition to my home), the labor charge on this is wildly more expensive that it should be -- by about 100% -- compared with other, non-Angie's list, appliance repair services that I've used.
I would avoid this guy and, what in my opinion, are his predatory tactics.

Looks lie a good days bad days kind of worker. Pricey as well
Angel replaced the relay on the spot but didn't have the right kind of freon in his truck, so came back the next day (Sunday). After he added the freon, unfortunately, the refrigerator still did not respond. Angel said that the filter dryer was clogged. He consulted with Elliott, and then told me that I would be better off buying a new fridge.
I thought I would still be on the hook for $250--I had already paid the diagnosis fee--but Angel told me that I didn't have to pay anything else, because the problem was not fixed. I was impressed because he had spent at least an hour on each day of the weekend working on my fridge. While I'm disappointed that my fridge couldn't be fixed and that I'll have to buy a new one, I found Angel's recommendation credible because he gave me clear explanations of what he was doing and because he could have likely earned a higher fee by doing the repair.
By that time it was six p.m. I had spent over 11/2 hrs. On the phone. I called tri State's number and I got Elliot. He was sitting in his dentist's chair. He remembered who I was from last year. I was very desperate because my clothes were wet inside the machine.
Elliot was very understanding. He told me that he would be about an hour at the dentist, but when he was finished, he would come to me directly.
He called me when he was on his way and arrived after 8:00 p.m.
In less than an hour, he repaired my washer. He explained that one of my garments had twisted around the door lock. My laundry room is very small. Elliot had to lay down on the floor to work. He removed the garment from the lick very carefully from the bottom of the machine. He got the door open, checked it and restarted the wash cycle. It worked perfectly.
Elliot told me that I need to make sure that the clothes are loaded behind the rubber gasket.
He did not charge me the full price for the visit, only a nominal fee for his time. He explained that he didn't "repair", he just opened the door and gave it a check up to make sure it was in full working order. Who does that? Specially after regular working hours AND with a mouth full of gauze?
I am grateful to Elliot for his prompt resolution, his fairness, and humanity. I am also very grateful to Angie's List. If it wasn't for Angie, I would have gone bonkers.
