Horrible. The worst auto service experience of my life. We came in for a simple oil change, but they insisted that we need new tires, so we regretfully told them to go ahead and replace all the tires. That cost us close to $1000. The next day, our tire pressure light came on. We brought it back, not sure what they did (probably nothing) and the next week again, same problem. Checked the tire pressure and one of the tires was down to 25 PSI. Went through this game of charades for another 5 more visits. On the last visit, the light changed from a simple tire pressure light to the letters TPMS. I actually needed the car to take care of a dental emergency. But because of this issue, I had to drop the car off again at this Sears and was forced to take an Uber to Morristown, which cost me $86 there and back. Finally they agreed to replace the air pressure sensor and reseal the bad tire, without charging us anything extra. This took them two days. Meanwhile, the customer service was horrendous. They are extremely slow and even something as simple as picking up your car after all the work is done can take up to 30-45 minutes. The workers are completely unmotivated and have zero social skills. I called Customer Relations, and wasn't impressed with their attitude either. I'l avoid this place at all costs

It was fine.

My car was towed to Sears after not starting. The folks at Sears took me immediately and fully checked my car. They found no major issues- they only charged me for an oil change.

A selling point of coming to this Sears is that it's attached to a mall so you can get some shopping done.

This is a little known fact, but you can drop your keys in the key recepticle near the entrance before Sears opens and call them them soon thereafter. This is very helpful to people who live in Jersey City, but work in New York City because the Sears Auto Center is very close to the Newport/Pavonia Path station. Oil changes, for example, are a breeze this way. Just leave a note with your keys and park near the entrenance, and they'll get the work done while you're at work - it's a pretty sweet deal.

Sears has always been responsive when we went their for service, they are usually able to perform the service while we wait. This was a potential disaster because our coolant level was getting very low and we did not want to have the engine overheat. Sears technicians worked quickly to discover the problem and were quickly able to provide a low cost solution. Thank you!

We took our Honda Civic in for new rotors and brake pads in mid July of 2011. They ended up scuffing the drivers side door really bad and we had to bring it back for them to buff it out. That was nothing compared to the squeak the brakes were making a few days later. We once again took the car back and they said they needed to shave the pads down. OK... All should be good. Nope! A few days later the squeak was back. Same thing.. they said they needed to make a few adjustments. OK... That's got to be it. Nope! One week later the squeak returned. After much back and forth with them, they refunded us $348 of our payment. The manager John was very accomodating, but they do horrible work and make you wait around forever. Moral of the story: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THE SEARS AUTO CENTER IN JERSEY CITY!

They provide good quality and good service. They usually explain the different options to you carefully and well and in a detailed form so that your making an informed choice.
