Mr. Thompson was recommended by a local developer.  He promptly responded to my call and came to take a look at our issues and recommend the improvements.  He later returned, looked everything over again and sent a written estimate - one of the only contractors to provide one.  We negotiated the work and the price a bit and reached an agreement.
He and his crew started work in the winter and rushed to complete the main job of replacing our roof late in the evening before a big snowstorm.  Because of the bad winter weather, they were unable to work for 2 months after that, but they had done enough to stop the leak that we had long experienced.  When they were finally able to return, they completed all the other jobs as quickly as possible.
Mr. Thompson and his crew were extremely serious about their work and very polite.  They were careful to keep our home clean and cleaned up very well after themselves.
Mr. Thompson took great care to thoroughly explain the work that was to be done, including various alternatives, and to provide frequent progress reports.  He is very friendly and I enjoyed having him around our house.  I would definitely hire him again.

I thought Mr. Thompson and his team were excellent to work with.  He first impressed me by arriving on time.  He listened to my description of our roofing problems and the suggestions made by other roofers, then inspected the roof and made his own suggestions, which seemed to be in line with the long-term needs of our home.
He sent a detailed estimate 1-2 days after his visit, something that other bidders had to be pushed to do.  The price was more than I had expected to spend but we negotiated a bit and reach a fair price.
Mr. Thompson and his team had to go through my ground-floor office constantly during the job but were very respectful, quiet and clean.
This job was begun in January, 2014.  The main work, including the installation of a new rubber roof, was completed over the course of several marathon days.  Immediately thereafter, we had two months of snow with no possibility of returning.  As soon as the weather warmed up a bit and the snow melted, they came back and promptly finished the job.

Overall, too many delays. A project that would have take at most 6 weeks took almost 3 months. Apparently the owner used the deposit and then did not have enough to finish the work. Therefore, he had me waiting until he got another deposit from another project.

At first debris was left all over backyard. But after I complained the workers came back and cleaned it up. Also after work in basement was completed I got some water in basement. This however could be due to the hole left in the ground as a result of some sewer work done around the same time. There also was some water on the stair side of basement that could be due to a facade issue on the side of the house. I may need a re-surfacing of the side of the house and am considering having S&S to do the job although I am also looking into other contractors for a second opinion. In the meantime I am fairly satisfied with the work done up to this point. The water leaks are my main concern at this time and I am slightly hesitant to give this contractor an A rating until I know for sure that the water leak is caused by the side facade and not from shoddy workmanship on the basement wall. In regards to the backyard and front sidewalk the contractor has done what he has promised to do.
