*PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE YOU CONSIDER HIRING THIS COMPANY* I've got to be honest, I have worked with a lot of contractors through my work in Renovation Television as well as in my own personal life renovating property here in New Jersey & and back in Oklahoma, and I can say without a doubt, this was the worst experience I have ever had. Pyramid Roofing Company has not only been extremely unprofessional (showing up hours late or not even at all, ignoring phone calls and messages I left with both their secretary as well as the manager Noah), but the work that they did, is about as poor a job as can be done. Although they said they would show up at 8am on May 15th and finish up around 4pm, they instead didn't show up until well past noon, the manager I was working with, Noah, had assured me that all the problems that I was having would be fixed. He said that he would put a coat of roofing tar across the entire roof (and especially on specific trouble areas where water was pooling up under the paper) as well as add "vents" so that they would "air" out the moisture under the paper, and that would stop all the leaking I was having in my apartment. He told me to wait 3-4 days to let it cure, and then go up and take a look to see if there were any issues, and if there were any, I was to give him a call so he could right all the issues. So I paid him the $1800.00 we agreed upon, he supplied me with a 10 year warranty, and he was on his way. 4 days past and I went up and I saw there were a few cracks forming in the tar and the water that was under the paper was not evaporating, so I gave him a call to ask him if he could come over and fix the issues. He said that he would have to give me a call back that following Monday to let me know when he could get over. So I wait, and I wait and Monday rolls by, no call, and finally I wait until Thursday or Friday and I call him and he says, he has been busy and that he will be able to come the next week. I'm a little annoyed, but I was like okay we have time set up so I'm good. The day comes and he is supposed to show up at noon. I take off work so I can be there to let him in, and noon rolls by, he doesn't show up, it's 6pm and I've left message after message with him and no answer. Fast forward to a few days past, and I finally get a hold of him and he says that he was in an accident. And I'm like are you okay, he says yes, and I'm like great! I then asked him how is my roof going to get fixed if he was not going to be able to do it, he said call the office and ask if someone else might be able to get it done, and I was like okay no problem, hope you get better. I call the office and leave a message. I call back the next day and leave a message. I call the next day and finally the woman calls me back and I ask if there is any way to get someone to come out and repair the sections that are needing some extra attention, she said that I will send someone out to take a look at it and I was like great, let's get this thing finally taken care of bc I'm tired of dealing with it. So the day comes, and if you haven't already guessed, the person didn't show up. And this time no-one has picked up my phone call or replied to my voice messages, and it has been almost two months since I had the work done. I even went to their address listed on their website, and it's not even an office but a mail box at a check cashing center in the middle of industrial Jersey City. I am so fed up with this company at this point I have filed a claim against them at the BBB, so hopefully this will be resolved, because the the tar is completely cracked all over the roof, water is still building up under the paper, the "vents" they put in are not even real vents but faux vents that don't even open up to air out the moisture (I even had one of my friends who is contractor and my dad who is a former contractor look at it and both of them can't understand how they are supposed to "vent") and meanwhile my roof is still leaking, causing even more water damage and costing me even more time and money and mental space. I just want my money back, and in the meantime I want everyone to know what kind of company Pyramid Roofing actually is. And just so everyone understands, I'm not normally the type of person to write scathing reviews. ESPECIALLY when it comes to contractors and renovation work. I grew up with a father who was a contractor and I've worked in TV with contractors, I have the up most respect for how hard a job it can be, and how difficult it is to fully please everyone you work for, but I am 100% certain without a doubt, when I tell you this company is terrible and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
