Jaime, who has done work for us before, was very prompt about providing an estimate, and his price was reasonable. Work commenced promptly but was frequently interrupted by bad weather. The work looked good but we soon started to see evidence of cracking in the surface of the steps, so some areas were re-done. We pointed out another area that was riddled with cracks and one of the foremen marked it for further repair but this was never done. Jaime became unavailable, not responding to a punch list provided by e-mail, text direct to his cell phone and, at his request, on paper given to his foreman. His workers left their supplies in our driveway for several weeks after they stopped working. the punch list was never addressed and Jaime stopped taking my calls. to be specific about the items listed above: 1. The cornice seems ok but too high to inspect. 2. Door frame was partially repaired. One door was painted and the other was not. 3. Front steps look nice except for some patches that do not have the proper color. I am not confident that these patches will withstand the weather. Also, when wet, many small cracks become visible, indicating a poor surface that will not last. This was the main reason we engaged Jaime and I am unhappy with the appearance of the patches and with the likelihood that the cracked area will deteriorate. 4. Area beneath the steps was nicely repaired. UPDATE MAY 27, 2014: Nearly five years, later, I can say that we learned to live with the mismatched colors in the repaired areas on the steps. They don't look perfect, but not too terribly bad. Those early cracks never worsened and the masonry has held up well. We have some newer and larger cracks that we will watch but, so far, no significant damage. The work has lasted better than I expected.
