Hoboken Painter

They did not do a great job. I would give them a C minus.I had to have them come back multiple times. The only they stopped coming, is my wife accidentally paid them. There was no way to get them to come back, to fix the rest of their work. They were nice, they were quick. Obviously relatively inexpensive, but I felt like he was using day laborers, instead of people who specializes in painting. Like, I didn't get the since that the people coming in were necessarily regulars. He was nice and quick, and I didn't appreciate the detail in the work. They are painting a wall, it is not hard to do. I have done it myself. Very unlikely I will use them again.

They were all very friendly to communicate with. This was my first time hiring a professional painter so I didn't have any baseline for what to expect. In the end, I just needed to get this done since I was quite busy at work during that time and I couldn't really be productive painting on the weekend with two little kids to take care of. So by that measure, hiring Nick was well worth the money. 
In general, while I was perfectly content with the end result, I can't say that I was ecstatic. I went with Nick because they were able to match the lowest quote I got. But I have a feeling that they cut some corners. They almost forgot to paint a major area of one of the rooms until I pointed it out as they were cleaning up. They didn't really do a lot of prep on the walls (e.g. sanding, removing existing nails, etc). 
It was well worth the money but I do regret not spending more to go with another painter who seemed like they would be much more thorough.

I still have tape marks all over. Though he says he did 2 coats, but it looks like only one and someone else confirmed the same.
Areas under the AC unit still have patches of spackle, the ledge and other areas have a thick drip of paint as is stuck to it. Though he was very responsive and came again to address the most obvious areas, I continue to find problems as I look closely.
Over all I feel he did not have anyone take a close look at his finished job to make sure it was all done right. I am now spending more money to correct his errors and get the job redone.

the job, great...the logistics, not so much...very prompt to show for the estimate appointment, same day as the first call. booked for following saturday...called to cancel friday @ 930pm before first appt...second appt set for following sat; thursday night called to cancel again. booked for Friday. once here, they were quick, clean and obviously experienced; Carlos, nick's assistant takes the show. he is accommodating, takes pride in his work, and super helpful. overall, big hassle on the logistics side, but happy with a great paint job.

Nick was prompt in responding to my request for an estimate and scheduling and completing the job.

I was happy with his work. He was reasonable with the pricing. He was flexible and accommodating.

Nick and his team (including his wonderful wife) were fanastic.  They arrived early to our home in Philadelphia and were finished by the next day at 12pm.  The painting job was superior--we couldn't have been more pleased.  All of the trim and the windows looked spectacular and the walls were meticulously painted.  Nick's estimate was 1/3 of our other estimates!  Also, he is very kind and professional.  I would never use another painter! I highly recommend him.

I emailed Nick, and he responded in less than 24 hours.  We set up a time for him to give me an estimate, and he arrived on time.  When we discussed what I wanted done, he gave me a fair quote and was able to begin work the very next day.  He accepted no payment until the work was completed, which was two days after the estimate.  He was very professional and courteous, and I am very happy with his work.  We chose a dark color for our bathroom, and he primed and gave it two coats of paint.  But he told me that dark colors sometimes need touch ups, and he let me know that I should call him if I felt that was the case with our bathroom.  I did, and a week later he came back to touch up the bathroom at no extra charge.  I'm very pleased with my entire experience with him, and I would use his services again.

I would probably use them again but only for a small job as he doesn't have a crew (just the Nick and a young man).

Nick was absolutely fantastic--we would use him again in a heartbeat.  He was courteous, prompt, fair and did an excellent job.  He completed the job in the time frame we were given.  The paiting was completed meticulously and the apartment looks beautiful.  He was reliable from start to finish.  I recommend him highly.
