We are a GREEN residential and commercial cleaning company. We use plant based products, dry steam vapor and essential oils to transform your home into a clean, sanitary "spa-like" environment. Steam kills all pathogens, allergens, dust-mites, etc. We go beyond just cleaning surfaces. We even steam upholstery, carpets, mattresses- to kill all those dust mites that have taken residence. They dusted all the rooms -- first with a swiffer, and then wiped surfaces with a wet cloth (not sure which surfaces had which spray). The sprays are from the company Method, which is supposed to be environmentally protective. They vacuumed the couches and fabric chairs, and then steam cleaned them. They vacuumed all the floors and steamed those as well -- some rooms have carpets, others hard wood, the bathroom has tiles and the kitchen has linoleum. The steam cleaner works on all of them, and they asked me before they used it on the wood floors and on the furniture. They cleaned the kitchen and bathroom surfaces thoroughly, including the outsides of the kitchen cabinets, and the inside of the oven, and the walls in the bathroom. They did the insides of the windows. I'm sure I'm forgetting something -- it was a major job!
Saby and Ashanti were very friendly, and I worked alongside them on my own cleaning projects -- taking down curtains to wash later, etc., and helping to move things out of the way. One major benefit of the experience is that I realized how much easier it is to do cleaning projects when working with other people! They got me started, and after their visit it was much easier for me to continue with other cleaning and home improvement projects on my own. The next day Mahnaz gave me a sample of their cleaning spray, and I was actually able to clean a plastic tablecloth I loved but had almost given up on.
Another benefit of the visit is that Green Apple turned me on to cleaning with steam, which doesn't require other chemicals. I bought a used steam cleaner (not as good as theirs, but not bad) and I bought more of those cleaning products.
When Ashanti and Saby were done, the whole house looked lighter and brighter. When Ray got home from the hospital he was amazed!

Ive used Green Apple Clean & Steam a couple times before, both times for a thorough deep clean. The team returned today, and once again, blew me away! My house looks better than when I moved in five years ago, it smells and feels fresh, and my allergies have taken a back seat since they steamed all the furniture and carpets to eliminate the toxins and dust mites.
The owner, Menaz, is passionate, knowledgeable, caring, professional thorough, and just a genuinely good person. She's a real perfectionist and runs a tight ship. Menaz is currently studying towards becoming a naturopathic doctor- so she's very committed to the green movement and optimum health- which she applies in her home cleaning. She also spent a few minutes after the cleaning, giving me advice on how best to maintain the house myself and she even let me keep a brand new bottle of one of their sprays that i liked the smell of.
Menaz and her assistant, Ashanti, showed up about ten minutes before their scheduled appointment. They spent six hours, aggressively cleaning, and steaming. They put on little shoe covers, so that they don't drag outdoor dirt and grime into your home. The cleaned and steamed every inch of the home. The bathroom was in really rough condition, they were able to steam off some stubborn mildew and soap scum that I couldn't get off myself, no matter how hard I tried. They vacuumed up a tremendous amount of dust with those backpacks vacuums. I also had them clean the inside of the refrigerator and oven, good job on both of those. They also steam cleaned my hard wood floors, which were left sparkling. I opted to have them steam clean my mattress, couches and carpeting to kill the dust mites and toxins. Everytime after they leave, I notice that I sleep a lot better, with all those dust mites and allergens gone.
Green Apple Clean and Steam made my home look and feel so amazing, I felt the difference as soon as I walked through the door. They went above and beyond and exceeded my expectation. They removed stains that I thought were permanent. I chose the lavender essential oil, which made my house smell so amazing and created a really relaxing atmosphere.
Green Apple Clean and Steam definitely isn't the cheapest company out there though.. You will spend a pretty penny when using their serves at $60/hr. So I won't be having them return for regular cleanings, but I use them once every few months for a good deep clean. I've recommended them to several friends, and can't wait till they return again later in the summer.

When I returned from work, I could tell an immediate difference that the odor in the house was mostly gone, that Green Apple had done their very best to clean what they could in this timely manner and that they probably could have spent another 5 hours each still working on the house, which to me still needs some work in other areas. I will be inviting Green Apple back to work on the rest of the house very soon
Also, Google search if you can use steam on hardwood floors. Most wood finishing companies recommend against it and they used it even after me saying that this may affect my hardwood floors.
Their quality is good - but I am giving them C, because steam cleaning is not the answer for everything and the way my kitchen cabinet's door turned out.
I am giving F on price, because their original estimate was 5 hours and they took 7 hours - 2 people to clean kitchen and living room area - all on same floor - for a Town-House. That's 420$ of "move in" cleaning for a place which was earlier cleaned by another professional cleaning as 'move out' service. They took before and after pictures of everything - to proove the quality of the cleaning - so not sure how much time was spent on cleaning v/s how much time was spent on taking the pictures. 14 hours @ 30$ an hour. This was more an 'investigative mission to find spots, take pictures and clean them e.g. fire sprinkler system's head'.
I am giving C on punctuality because they showed up at 1:40 instead of 1:00 pm.
"We performed a deep move-in clean for [Member name removed]'s home in April, which was successful and smooth- and when I ran into him a month and a half later, he expressed to me how pleased he and his family were with the cleaning and that they planned to have us return soon. In a completely unrelated case, I had coincidently performed a deep move-in clean for his tenant. The tenant had requested that I take before and after photos for him, which would ultimately work against [Member name removed] in court (tenant moved in from out of state and felt misled about the cleanliness/condition of the home). I wasn't aware what these photos were for- but I was happy to take my clients request. [Member name removed] has since then emailed me asking why I had taken those photos and threatened to post a negative review about my company. He has also created a fake Yelp profile under a female name, and continues in his attempt to slander my company- all to satisfy his personal grudge. And suddenly, almost two months later- his cabinet is damaged and he wants immediate compensation. [Member name removed] is about to be the subject of a libel and harassment case, and these "damages" that somehow appeared almost two months after his cleaning are non-existent."

Mahnaz went over the list I gave her, and emailed me back assuring that everything would be taken care of. She said there would be an extra charge for steam cleaning various items, and for cleaning the refrigerator. Since I really needed a thorough clean, I agreed to all the extra charges, and also told her to let me know if the cleaning would take more than 4 hours. Since I also wanted my closet walls vacuumed, and wanted a dusting of all the shelves, Mahnaz asked that I remove all my clothes from the closet, so as to make it easier for her crew to clean that space. I agreed, and duly removed all clothes, and other impedimenta from the closet.
After this nothing went right. First, I spoke to her on the phone to schedule the appointment, and she said the crew would come over on Wednesday at 10 AM. Early in the morning on Wednesday, she emailed to say that she didn't know that her crew was supposed to be coming in that day. But soon after, she emailed again saying that she recalled our conversation, and that the crew would indeed be there at 10 to clean the house. Since she made it clear that I didn't need to be home for the cleaning, I wasn't, and I asked front-desk to give them the keys when they came in. They came in about 9:45, and stayed only 3.5 hours, though the deal was for 4 hours (the time they came and left are all logged into the the system by the front-desk). When I came back home, I was appalled at what I saw:
1. They had damaged a window valance. The valance had been ripped off, and was lying on the floor. I have ordered new parts from the manufacturer, and have to get a handyman to fix that back
2. I had asked for the carpeted floors to be vacuumed and steam cleaned. Mahnaz said there would be an extra $20 charge for each carpet they cleaned. However, they didn't seem to have even vacuumed them, let alone steam cleaned them, since I found hair everywhere on the carpet.
3. I had asked for the refrigerator to be cleaned at an extra $20 charge, but I found that there were ring marks and dirt in the fridge.
4. I had asked for the top of the refrigerator to be cleaned, but I found a thick layer of dust on top.
5. I had asked for the mattresses to be steam cleaned at an extra $20 for each mattress (I keep my mattresses covered with a bed-bug protector, which keeps everything out, but I wanted a thorough clean anyway), and when I removed the sheets yesterday, I found that there was still stuff like lint and fabric residue sticking to the grooves of the mattress.
6.I had asked for the fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms to be cleaned -- this is standard for any cleaning company. I found crud sticking to the kitchen faucet, dust on the light fixtures of one bathroom, and the bathtub in the master bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly.
7. There were streaks on the stainless steel appliances
8. I had to re-polish the dining table all over again, because there were streaks on it. There are also streaks on a bookcase.
9. They agreed to make the beds, and I left all the relevant linen out for them. But the duvet covers weren't put on, so I put them on myself after I came home.
10. Elementary things like putting in a new roll of toilet paper in the holder wasn't done, and I had to do that myself.
11. For a supply closet, I had asked that the doors be thoroughly cleaned, because it has slats which attract a lot of dust. It wasn't done. The dust is clearly visible.
12. As if all this was not enough, the biggest hassle for me yesterday was the clothes closet. There was dust on the rods, and the few items inside like hangars and so on, hadn't been dusted. Since I needed to get all my clothes back in the closet, in order to be able to wear something to work today, I had to go back in and clean everything myself, and then put the clothes back. This took me all the time from soon after I returned home (close to 5.30), to past 11 in the night.
I got in touch with Mahnaz yesterday, and gave her all the details with the relevant photographs. She agreed that this wasn't appropriate, and said she would come back in to fix what wasn't done. The problem here is that every time I look around the house, I find something new that this crew didn't do. So I am not even sure that I know the full scope of things not done. As a result I am afraid I don't want them back in the house, and Mahnaz has agreed to refund my money.
I was really looking forward to coming back to a clean home, but unfortunately that didn't happen. I also don't like giving anyone a bad review, but this cleaning crew's work (or rather lack of it), leaves me with no choice. I hope the company will learn from this experience, and improve the quality of service they provide.
UPDATE TO REVIEW
1. The service provider claims that she responded to every email and phone call within 5 minutes or less. I have all 42 emails exchanged between me and the provider, with the date and time stamp on them. Each one of them until the time I complained came at least a day after I sent my emails. Even after I complained, her responses took nearly half an hour or so. Again, I have all the emails with the date and time stamp. I have forwarded them on to Angie?s List (AL), and am happy to place them before any relevant authority.
2. I have also sent a sample of the photos on over to AL. They have promised to upload them soon. Once they are up, the readers can decide for themselves as to whether the photos show them anything or not. The photos were taken on my phone, and the phone retains date, time, and location records, which I am happy to place before any relevant authority.
3. Contrary to what the service provider is claiming now, I got in touch with AL only after she told me that she was agreeable to refunding my money. Her words in her email dated 03/26/2014, at 11:16 PM were, ?And if you're truly that dissatisfied, please ask Angie's List for a refund. If they can't grand (sic) you a refund, I will give it to you out of my pocket?? In another email, she also agreed, in words that can?t be printed here, that her crew hadn?t completed the work satisfactorily. 4. Also, as my emails to her show, I was initially open to the idea of having her team come in the next day to finish what they didn?t do. It was only after finding an endless number of issues, that I gave up that idea. In any case access to anyone?s home cannot be granted as a matter of right. It is founded on a principle of trust. After non-performance, and also causing damage to my property, I can?t be faulted for not wanting to allow this provider to re-enter my home.
5. AL?s rules require that I post a review in order to initiate the process of getting a refund. I duly informed the service provider as much, and I was sent a couple of emails asking me not to post a review since it would have a negative impact on her business. I however had no choice as per AL?s rules, and after the review was posted, I got an abusive text message from the provider, saying I was ?absolutely pathetic? (again, this has been forwarded to AL, and again I am happy to share it with any relevant authority). I also found a message in my AL inbox the next day containing a rant, which ended with, ?shame on you? (this has also been forwarded to AL, and can be shared with any relevant authority).

"I thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for your home. I am very sorry that you feel that our service did not meet your expectations. I’d like to take this moment to address all of the issues listed in the review, and then offer my solution towards turning this unfortunate situation into one in which you feel completely satisfied. With all due respect, I am confused about your decision to give us a “D” for both responsiveness and punctuality. My team arrived 15 minutes before scheduled time. In addition to that, I’ve always responded to every phone call or email within 5 minutes or less, both before and after the cleaning. When I received your email with your list of complaints, I responded to it within the next couple of minutes with a sincere apology, and with my offer to return the very next day and re-do the areas that you felt were neglected. I even immediately assured you that I would compensate the cost for the handy-man to fix the clip from window valance. Your cleaning was for 4 hours. I addressed the team about their decision to leave after 3.5hrs. The team felt confident that all the work was complete after 3.5 hours, and agreed that there was nothing left to do.. I wish that you had given me the chance to see the work with my own eyes, to confirm that it did not meet Green Apple Clean & Steam standards. As for the mattress/bedding- we do not vacuum mattresses, nor was that promised. We do steam mattresses, and all of your mattresses were thoroughly steamed. The steaming will eradicate dust mites, bacteria, allergens, and other pathogens. The steam machine does not have vacuuming capabilities, and therefore, won't pick up the particles you mentioned. Also, turning down the beds is not a part of our services, per se. In our commitment to “going the extra mile”, we’ll do that anyway. All of your beds were properly made, with the exception of one, in which the girls had a difficult time figuring out the duvet cover. After minutes of trying, they eventually left that for you, and continued to focus on the other areas that needed attention. As our function is to effectively clean and sanitize, its important to keep in mind that we are a cleaning service, and not a “turndown” service. In your review, you stated that the team didn’t place your toilet paper in the holder and that you had to do it yourself. If you had asked, we would have gladly done that for you. However, that’s not our responsibility. We’ve earned an amazing reputation within the community, because of our thoroughness, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. I offered to return the very next day to inspect and fix the alleged problem areas. However, you refused to allow me to inspect the areas that you claimed were neglected, and opted for a full refund instead. Because I was not able to inspect the area, I’m unfortunately unable to confirm nor deny your allegations. I did receive your photos, all of which showed me nothing, which is why I wanted to report to your home to solve these problems. At Green Apple Clean & Steam, we take pride in our exemplary service and our dedication to customer satisfaction. Your suggested resolution is to receive a full refund, and compensation for the maintenance worker fee, who is to fix the broken clip from your window valance. Because the work has, in fact, been completed, I do not think that it’s fair for you to receive a refund. You paid $100 for a job that would normally cost $210, and 3.5 hours of aggressive labor was put in by two of my team members. I will, however, be glad to pay the invoice for the maintenance work. On the day of the appointment, her team (Ashanti and Saby) showed up early for the appointment and I walked them through the apartment pointing out certain areas I wanted them to focus on. They not only completed everything on my list but found areas I didn't even think about. They performed beyond my wildest expectations.
I was very happy and so was my new tenant who walked into a beautifully clean and sanitized apartment. And did I mention the wonderful scent of lemongrass that was left behind? I was given a selection of scents. No cleaning company has ever asked me that question.
In the future, I will be using Green Apple Steam & Clean for my own house and recommending them to everyone I know!

Scheduling was easy, and all I had to do was leave instructions to my house, and key to get in and they did the rest.
They put almost the same love and attention into my house that I do; awesome! Everything was clean, dusted, organized, sparkling and fresh - I loved coming home to my day after Green Apple had been there. No complaints whatsoever - thanks gals
