I had 3 projects for him to work on. He needed some materials to get started. I advanced him $120.00. He said we would schedule the work in a couple of days and he was going to get the materials. We played some phone tag and once we had scheduled an appointment he did not show up. Once I was able to reach him again he apologized and stated he had to pick his wife up from the airport and the visit was rescheduled. They did not show up again and I have been unable to contact him since. I gave him a key to the front entrance that he never gave back so I will have to change my locks. I would not recommend this provider.

Cesar did most of the laminate floowing, and basement vynal flooring. However, the rest of the work was not done. He painted only half of the house. He did not complete the flooring jobs. The gutter work, caulking outside windows, painting the house outside and patchup side of roof was not done. I paid him advance to do the job, now he is not even replying my calls. He says he will finish the job but doesn't show up. Its really frustrating. The problem with Cesar is that he doesn't pay his workers so the workers do not trust him and work is half done in most cases. Now I have to get the job that I gave him to another contractor. He not only took my money and did not deliver but also wasted 1 month of my time...I should have known better.

For your information Cesar Handyman Services (rated A) and Cesar Betancurth (rated F) are one and the same company. The two phone numbers I have are 201-437-8648 and 201-362-3008.I would not use Cesar again. He came to the house and quoted me a price for the two column bases and to re-screen 8 basement windows. The cost was $300. I gave him a check and he sent a "carpenter" to do the job. The work was sloppy and not up to par. In fact the base was far different from the other bases. Cesar said he had a tool that would make the bottom of the columns look he same. He was unable to re-screen the basement screens so i told him to just remove them. I told him since he didn't have to re-screen them I would have a balance on my account. He originally charged me $50 a window. I also asked him to give me an itemized receipt for the work. Since I thought I had a balance I asked him to refinish my front door. He quoted me another price of $600 and requested a second payment of $300. Like a fool I gave him a second check. He did not show up the next day and I called him for my itemized bill and told him I do not want to have the door done. He didn't show up. I called him four times and twice he answered my call and told me he was coming over with a bill by 5 PM. He never showed. The last two times I called he never returned my call. Cesar is, in my opinion, dishonest. He never did the work I requested. Instead he sent an inexperienced carpenter (who told me he belongs to the carpenters union). He demanded money in advance. Never submitted a written bill. I was the fool. Would I recommend Cesar? NO NO NO. My recommendation is that the A for Cesar Handyman Services should be an F as in Cesar Bentancurth's rating.

Never present, kept sending inexperienced workers who never delivered the work required until several issues were raised. Always asking for balance payment before work was completed. No accountability for mistakes between Contractor and workers. When issues are raised, contractor responds with this is a good deal. Never addressing the issues being raised. Nice person, but not good at professionalism and business.

My experience with him was great. His responsiveness and the level of effort put in by his crew made the experience great.

He communicated very well. He stripped the floors to the original wood and restored it. He was knowledgable and worked for our needs.
