Greg was friendly and very professional. He went out of his way to repair each lock, including shaving down the interior so the locks would close more easily. The old locks in our new apartment were not high quality and he explained the best lock to purchase without draining our bank account. We would definitely use Greg and Catanio locksmiths again.

Mr Caniano was extremely nice and well-informed about our old hardware and was able to do the job fast and well. This old house has a lot of skeleton key holes but no keys, and he went around with me to try out some of his keys. We found one that worked and he gave it to me!

Rich got to work immediately and had the lock fixed in no time. He had to run to his shop to get the right screws, but his shop is not too far from my apartment and he was back in a jiffy. He checked that the lock worked properly after installing each screw. And he was kind enough to ask if I minded that the screws would be a different metal than the lock itself (I did not).

Rich was very polite and helpful, from the moment I called to make an appointment. I am very satisfied with the service he provided as well as the cost. I would absolutely use his company again and would recommend him to anyone in Jersey City needing a locksmith. He was born in Jersey City and seems to really care about his work and his neighbors. I really appreciate that and I am happy to support a local businessman.

I cannot overrate Rich at Catanio Lock. Although I was a first-time customer, he came to my house on a warm, summer Saturday afternoon, after he closed his shop for the day. When he realized our lock couldn't be fixed, he went back to his shop, and returned with a temporary lock, which he installed so we could keep the building's front door locked against the outside world over the weekend (he had to order the permanent lock we wanted).

He returned on Monday, as promised, and installed the new lock.

Dealing with Rich, I felt like I lived in a small town, rather than the second largest city in NJ. Rich is not old, but he's old school in his work ethic, and generally a very nice person.

As an important footnote, the company that installed the original lock in 2008 failed to show up either Friday or Saturday that August weekend, although they had promised they would.

This is the second time that we have used them and they are great. They always give a very reliable estimate. They turn up on time and they are just really nice. We called and they came immediately to give an estimate and did the work the next day. I didn't compare prices but their price seemed totally reasonable in terms of the amount of time they spent here. They bring the locks themselves and everything else and they offer you a range of choices in terms of quality and prices. We had managed to lock ourselves out on the deck a couple of years ago and they came right away and changed the lock. I would totally recommend them.

The closing on our condo was delayed so we didn't finish until after 5 p.m. on a Friday, but Rich came to change my locks anyway after he closed up the shop, at 6:45 p.m., and still charged the usual rate.

He was right on time, efficient, quick, careful, and did the job very well.

We've been using this shop for more than 10 years to have our keys copied, and they are always friendly and helpful. We also love their parrots!

Instead of Rich, Greg showed up and he was really nice and careful guy. He went the extra mile by making sure that not only the locks were working correctly, but also that the doors were closing properly. He even filed parts of doors casings to make the door close properly. Really happy with the guy. The entire thing took 1.5 hours for four locks and filing/adjusting the doors.
