Fifteen Minutes. Fifteen minutes, that's all it took. The technicians quickly and expertly diagnosed the problems, cleared the vent, and replaced a burnt-out heating coil and had the machine operational. They even beat another company I inadvertently called for the same time slot to the house.

This service was exceptional. The technician was extremely responsive and committed to fixing the problem. He even payed us a late visit on 12/22 in order to get our oven working before a big Christmas dinner event. It was not about the money, it was about pleasing the customer. So refreshing and unexpected. Well worth the price of admission to this web site. Thanks Castro's!

My tenant notified me that there was a leak coming from the refrigerator. I called up Castro's that morning and by the afternoon, they had someone come by to fix the problem. I dealt with them entirely over the phone, but went smoothly. Would highly recommend.

Replaced damaged electric board on the oven. Work was completed in 2 calls. They were professional and responsive, took time to explain what was done and why.

Henry, the technician, called about 5 minutes prior to his arrival at 5 PM. They were scheduled to arrive between the hours of 3 PM to 6 PM so they were on the money. Henry inquired about the symptoms and I told him about the poor cooling with our 15 year old GE refrigerator and what maintenance I performed i.e. condenser coil cleaning.
Henry immediately got busy moving the unit out of its space, clearing out the bottom freezer and removing the service panel. He saw some icing on the evaporator coils and diagnosed a low freon condition. The system was charged and the unit closed up with some additional attention paid to a rattling service panel.
Bottom line is our refrigerator is as cold as could be and as quiet running as when new. PLUS I got to meet a competent and articulate individual who I will ask for by name if and when I require any major home appliance service in the future.
Kudos to Angie's List for pointing me in the direction of Castro's Refrigeration.

Castro was called to inspect the washing machine due to noise and smoke
issue. The technician drained the machine and ran some cycles.
Ultimately it was caused by an unbalanced load and caused friction with
the mounting or the seal for the door. He thought it was operating fine
and felt no repairs were needed. He gave tips on keeping the machine in
good condition specifically the door seal and the liquid dispensers. Very good sign when they give you the straight truth and they are not trying to charge extra. They are now my appliance guys. The cost of the service call was more expensive then a regular call since the machine I have is very difficult to find parts for. I would gave a lower score in price but decided an A is fine since actually he didn't try to cheat by making bogus repair and gave good tips.

Technician called home phone at about 3:30 PM and arrived 15 minutes later. Described problem and solutions. Upon agreement dismantled freezer and replaced 2 parts related to thermostat. Very prompt quick and professional. Job done in less than an hour. Left replaced parts.

The repair ordered a new part, so he had to come back two days after the initial visit. He was very thorough and diagnosed as well as remedied additional problems without additional cost when the replacement part didn't fix everything. He stayed for two hours when he only anticipated taking a half hour just to pop in the new part, but he stayed until it worked like new. And now it does.

The stove is now working like a charm. He took his time; carefully removed all the parts to get to the starter; replaced the igniter starter; put all the pieces back in place. He was thorough and clean. I have used this company before to repair my dryer when the belt broke and to clean the vent in the freezer when the refrigerator was getting water because the vent was clogged. This is the only company I can rely one that is inexpensive, thorough and prompt.

This wasn't an emergency but the repair person came within a day of our call even though there were a lot of service calls due to Hurricane Sandy. He quickly established that the gasket on our refrigerator was fine (and complimented us on how well/clean we keep the appliance). He pulled the refrigerator away from the wall and thoroughly cleaned the coils, which is what was making the refrigerator run and quot;hard.and quot;
He went beyond that to show me how I could do this myself and suggested that this be our annual maintenance. I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to sell a service we didn't need (new gasket) and was willing to show us how to avoid a service call in the future.

It started off good, called at 12:30pm and got an appointment the same day with a 3p-6p window. They showed up at 7:15. Although the person was very nice the lateness was really bad in my opinion. And for the price ($100) a piece of tape was the only thing used to fix my problem. He did take the info down of my refrigerator so if the fix doesn't work the right way the proper part can be ordered.

I found them on Angie's List. They fixed the problem pretty quickly, maybe in less than an hour. They had to change a part. They took off the wash line because I told them there was some stuff that was stuck in it and it was like rocks or something. They ended up taking the whole thing apart and figuring out that something was in my machine. It was almost like cement, but it was hard to describe. I had burnt a fuse out trying to fix it and restart it and get it to drain. Instead of just fixing the problem, they actually took it apart and tried to figure out what caused the actual drain. It was a simple fix for them. There were 2 guys that came and worked on it pretty quickly. I was happy with the service. The price was $294.00 for part and labor. My only complaint was about their punctuality. If they had called me and told me that they were going to be late, it would have been fine. When they got here, it was fine. They were friendly and everything. It's a little bit hard when you are sitting around and you have no idea when someone is coming. I guess that people get caught up and left behind. I think their prior job was bigger than they expected, but I think just a phone call would have been nice. They weren't crazy late. They came the same day. I would use them again in the future if I ever needed to.

I called this morning hoping to get a repairman within the next few days. The man on the phone said he could send a crew today (Yeah!). He told me they would get here a little before 3 pm and would call a few minutes before arriving. They actually called a little before 1 pm and had the problem fixed very quickly. The two-man crew was friendly and professional. I intend to call Castro again if I have applicance problems. A real find!

When I called the company, I was given a quote. They were able to come out the same day I called. The serviceman called ahead of time to make sure someone was at home. Arrived on time. The serviceman was polite and personable. He took his time in making sure all of the parts were in working order. He gave us good suggestions to reduce the vibration of the washing machine. He also gave us good advice about purchasing new washing machines.

They were good. They were a little expensive, but fixed our washing machine and everything worked again afterwards. They were fast and quick also. Everything went excellent. I have a very old washing machine too, so he was very helpful.

This is the third time I have used this service--for exactly the same reason. But...this is over a period of 4 years! Not their fault--it is an old fridge, and I can thank them for keeping it going. I first dealt with the father years ago, and now the son. Nice guys--both of them. My fridge is chugging away again!

Both my dryer and my washing machine broke down--over Christmas! Henry Castro explained why the washing machine, which was 14 years old, was rusted at key points and could not be repaired. He also explained very clearly what was wrong with the heater in the dryer and how he would repair it. He had to order parts, which took a week, but he came over to complete the repair as soon as the parts were in. He was courteous and also punctual, which is important to me, since I work in an office and when a repairperson is late, I'm late too. Henry repaired the dryer and also discovered that the vent was clogged, so he fixed the vent ducts as well. Six months later the dryer still works like new.

When the person from Castro's arrived he was very professional. He was honest about the repair work and told us how to avoid being in that situation again. He was done in about an hour. He went over and above what he had to do and explained all of what he was doing to my husband aas he went along. We appreciated all that he did and would not hesitate to call Castro's again and have already begun to refer others to them.

THE COMPANY IS EXCELLENT AND THE REPAIR MAN WAS PERSONABLE. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. THEY DID VERY GOOD WORK. EVERYTHING IS WORKING JUST FINE NOW, SO I HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO OTHER PEOPLE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD.
