It took six weeks from the time we accepted the proposal for the work to be done but it was definitely worth the wait. The crew arrived on time and did a great job pruning the trees as requested including clearing branches away from our power and telecommunication wires. The work was done exactly as specified in the proposal and they did a wonderful job cleaning up after the tree work was completed. I am very pleased with the results and will definitely call them for any tree work we need in the future.

The work was perfect. The workers were excellent. I just had to wait over 2 months for them to come and do it. However I would hired them again because I know things happen.

Beginning with the office staff, Connie and Dave, to the estimator Courtenay, through the completion of this work at my home by Frank, Phil and Jose, this is one of the best experiences I've had with workers on my property in many years. They were professionals in every sense of the word. I shouldn't be surprised because I first hired Aspen for tree pruning and removal in the 1980's. The owner, Steve Sr., set the standard of excellence back then; I believe he was President of the NJ Arborists Association and taught arboriculture part-time at Rutgers. He, and then his sons, were top-tier, tree climbers, competing in national (international?) competitions in the U.S. northwest and elsewhere. I believe they have won some national/international competitions, in fact. This time, the team of Frank, Phil and Jose showed up five minutes early and got to work immediately after ensuring with me they understood the work to be done. They were polite, respectful, good communicators and clearly, in my view, exhibited the same kind of expert climbing skills and tree removal skills that I've seen from Aspen spanning the past thirty years. Aspen knew how to prevent the heavy slices of cut tree from damaging my sod and plants. Also, they made sure my roof was cleared of any twigs, etc. that landed there during the work. And they raked up the yard everywhere affected by falling, small branches and mulch from the stump grinding. And used the blower to remove small wind-blown wood particles from my neighbor's driveway. Everything was cleaned up before they left. Also, I harvested a large portion of the cuttings for my wood-burning stove. They gave me smaller slices of the trunks and placed the wood where I'll split it; I have a back issue and this will make it a lot easier for me to split the wood. During the work, Courtenay, a technically sophisticated estimator and clear communicator, showed up to make sure I was satisfied with the way the job was going; I was very satisfied. Last, I made certain they continued to have the proper type and amount of insurance. Aspen gets the highest rating and recommendation from me. Aspen arrived on time with 3 trucks, a stump grinder and a machine that handled logs. They efficiently and methodically took down the two large Red Maple trees, ground the the stumps and cleaned up. You could barely tell where the trees were after they were done. It was impressive. Everyone I interacted with was very professional. They also pruned the trees around the property so no branches touched the power lines or the house. Overall, I was very satisfied and will have more tree work for them in the future.

I don't remember the cost. They're terrific.

Did major pruning on 2 huge trees plus removing and grinding stump of another tree. They also did some other minor tree trimmings. All was perfect. Would definitely recommend. (Price was very fair based upon other estimates as well.)

The work is excellent. I chose them specifically because they have real arborists and advocate against and quot;tree toppingand quot;.
Unfortunately, there was heavy rain the first time they were scheduled to do the work. Instead of trying to proceed under bad conditions, they recommended rescheduling, which I thought was a good idea.
The day they actually did the work, I was surprised how many people arrived to do what I thought was a small amount of work. I quickly realized that they were working in parallel on the trees. I left for work before they finished, but I stayed long enough to feel confident that they would not need to be supervised.
The tree removal was complete beyond my expectations. The stump grinding was far below the surface, so I could easily plant a new tree in its place. The cleanup in the area of the tree removal was so complete that it was difficult to tell that there had been a tree there.
The proof of the pruning expertise is that it is not apparent unless one knows that the work was performed. All of the damaged and crossed branches were removed. The interiors were opened without changing the overall shape of the tree. This is particularly impressive given the damage of many branches by Sandy.
The one slight negative observation is that they stood in my neighbor's yard under a tree during the rain when they were first scheduled. I would not have minded a bit if they had been in my yard, but I don't think my neighbor would have been happy seeing them in his yard.

I contacted Aspen Tree Expert Company one month after the Hurricane Sandy and Nor'easter hit New Jersey and received their prompt response. The company provided outstanding customer service during this difficult period. Being overwhelmed with phone calls, they asked their customer to go to the company's website and fill out an application. It was a simple form where I entered my name, address, contact information and a brif work description. In response to my application, Connie, the company's customer service representative, requested a detailed information on what needs to be assessed. She was always highly responsive and professional.
On the same day, when the company received my work description, they sent its arborist Gabe to my property to estimate the work. He was very responsive and arrived promptly for the quote. His estimate was very reasonable.
My waiting period was over 7 weeks. During this period I was able by myself to cut and remove some of the damaged trees. There was no problem for me to get a new quote from the company.
I was very satisfied with the job that the crew did, in spite of the cold and windy weather. They showed up on time and did a nice prompt job on all trees that were listed in the contract. They also stacked the wood where I wanted it.
The only slight negative would be that the crew did some damage to a small part of the stone border around my garden. They did not notify me about it, however, I discovered this damage on the next day. Also, when it came to fix the damage, I have not heard from Gale for two weeks, although, he promised to call me the next day after he estimated the damage. I had to contact him again and, in the less than one week, the company fixed the problem.
Overall, I am very pleased with this company and I would definitely patronize the Aspen Tree Expert Company again. I would certainly recommend this company to my friends.

They are not finished doing it yet, they will come back. They took away the dangerous trees away that were hanging over the house. Now they are in the backyard. They have to clean it. There are big trees there. We have used them for years, They are excellent. They are professionals. They know exactly what they were doing. They are probably the best in the area for the dangerous type of work. They can get to hard to reach areas because they climb. They have state championship climbers so they have a truck there and they just climb the trees and they take them down by hand, a piece at a time. Everybody enjoys it when they come to take care of our trees because everybody lines up on the streets to watch them climb up my trees. Their pricing is high but you get what you paid for. They are so busy that sometimes it is hard to have them come out except when it is an emergency then they come right out.

They were excellent. They came when they said they were going to. They worked straight through. They took lunch in the driveway and then went right back to work. The clean-up was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

I have had an excellent experience with him.
