Very well....turned out to be a considerably larger job than it appeared to be prior to beginning the work. Besides the mess of breaking out and removing the existing tile, there was a lot of work to do to re-level the subfloor prior to laying the wood floor. The crew did an excellent job of minimizing the dust (although it was still a giant mess--not their fault), leveling the sub-floor and installing the new floor. It looks great and so much better than the tile it replaced. They came when they said they would and stayed with the job until it was complete--overall about 8 days. Although the final cost was quite a bit more than the going in estimate, all of the extra expense was necessary and justified. There were so many things uncovered while tearing up the tile that couldn't be seen before starting the job.

He was so helpful. The buckling in the newer floor upstairs was caused by high humidity--he recognized that immediately and recommended a dehumidifier as a means to eliminate that problem. The floor in the main living area dates back to 1901 and has a small area of buckling also. He seemed very familiar with this beautiful old floor and its turn-of-the century craftsmanship. He said it couldn't be refinished again (we already new that) and we talked about various options to replace it in the future. He took the time to discuss both the highest cost option to capture the same look and feel as well as a number of lower cost options to get us a great looking durable floor, even using a pre-finished product to avoid the expense and mess of finishing a raw wood floor once it was laid down. He even shared information on when to do the work as wood prices fluctuate throughout the year and could be significantly cheaper in the winter. I will definitely be calling him again when we get ready to replace the floor.
Description of Work: I had Ruli out to consult on some problems with our wood floors including buckling.
