Rob and Julie were an absolute pleasure to work with! They offer a full service shop - from help with the new design/floor plan, selecting the right/best materials, recommending vendors and sub contractors, and handling the permits and inspections. Rob is very knowledgeable about all aspects of construction and design and Julie handles the scheduling, pricing, vendors and whatever else you might need. Their attention to detail and making sure the job is done right and to your satisfaction is always paramount. I would absolutely recommend them!

The whole project took a day over two weeks which was within their estimate of two and a half weeks. The end result was great. Replacing the old, beat up molding and finally putting color on the walls has dramatically improved the look, and feel of our home. Rob and Julie DeLorenzo were very responsive and personable to work with. They both came to the house to discuss the work and get to know you. The estimate was documented in an official quote which becomes the contract. The language in the contract protects both the customer and DeLorenzo Contracting. I prefer this level of professional transaction. Rob and a fellow carpenter removed and replaced the molding in two days. They were very efficient and clean. Rob had no problem with taking me to Home Depot to weed through many lengths of door molding to find ones that met my quality standards. They subcontracted the wall repair and painting to Dan Limone Painting & Restoration. He too came to our home to discuss the work and size up the job. Mr. Limone does not do the work himself, but he leaves a very experienced person to do the work. He put in about 1000 dry wall screws and managed to get 99% of the nail pops! This took over a week including the spackling and sanding. He caulked the tops of the molding and cleaned up the miter joints before painting the molding followed by the walls. A second person helped by roller painting the walls. His roller skills were careless, and we had to tell him to go back over the areas he painted to spread out the globs of paint. The experienced painter who performed the majority of the work is very skilled. He painted the bedroom doors without leaving any brush or roller patterns. After the painting was complete, we only needed minor touch ups on the walls, and straight edges repainted between the door molding and walls. Mr. Limone had no problem returning to satisfy our requests and it all came out great in the end. Both the DeLorenzos and Mr. Limone are very focused on customer satisfaction. We will definitely work with them again on future projects.
Description of Work: We hired DeLorenzo Contracting to paint our living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, and stairwell along with removing, replacing, and painting all the floor, window, and doorway molding. Our home was built in 1973, so the drywall was installed with nails instead of screws. Prior to painting, all of the walls were secured with drywall screws, most of the nail pops were hammered in, and the walls were spackled and sanded in preparation for priming and painting.

Rob and Julie were very easy to work with. The town was slow moving with the permits but Rob was able to get the job done in a timely fashion. The attention to details and suggestions they provided were great from the initial stages of the project until the end. They were able to point us to tile shops and even helped pick out paint that would go with the tiles we purchased. We will definitely use Rdelco again.
Description of Work: Our bathroom was old (about 50 years old) and to the point of no return. We contacted Rob to remodel the bathroom and he did a great job.

It was an exceptional experience. Not only did Rob do an amazing job; my house looks like new; he also helped me look for ways to make the rooms I was remodeling even better by providing simple and cost effective solutions. I will definitely be hiring Ron for Phase 3 of my house remodeling; which will include a complete new bathroom.

The job went very well, so well that I recommended Rob and Julie to family members. After working with them, they are as delighted as I am.
Description of Work: First, the short version. I had a serious structural problem in my home. A support beam on which half the second story rested was visibly bowed. The floors upstairs felt soft and spongy and creaked and moved to an excessive degree when walked on. It felt as if the floor could easily collapse. I found R DeLorenzo Contracting on Angie's List, noted the number of favorable reviews and the top rating, and reached out via email asking if my project was something they could handle. They could and did. If you want a contractor who will treat you and your home with respect, who will be solicitous of your time and meet each and every commitment, and who will work on your home as if they were working on their own, choose R DeLorenzo Contracting. The long version. Two days after my initial email to them, I received a reply. Rob DeLorenzo said he could do the job, but not for four to six weeks. We set up a time - at my convenience - to view the site and prepare a detailed estimate. Rob and one of his specialists carefully and thoroughly inspected the site: they looked at the beam in the living room, scrutinizing the ceiling and watching while someone walked on the floors above; they inspected the floors and moldings for settlement; they went downstairs into the basement to look at the floor joists and beams supporting the structure. They determined that the previous owner had incorrectly placed and installed the beam. One side of the beam was anchored to a post, the other side was resting on the floor and had no support. That lack of support had caused the beam and flooring to sag. Rob said the situation had been caught in time, but definitely would have become dangerous. Rob had two suggestions and carefully explained each. The more expensive option, at twice the cost of the alternative, involved building temporary support walls and installing a new beam where it should originally have been placed. That job would have involved an architect, detailed engineering drawings, and an extensive permit and review process. The alternative was to repair the existing structure by building temporary support walls, placing jacks and a lally column in the basement to restore the floors and beam to their proper levels, and and installing a new engineered support beam to provide continuing support. I chose the repair option. Rob and his crew spent time deciding the best place to site the lally column. Then they drilled an exploratory hole in the basement to make certain the concrete floor was thick enough to support the load the lally column would carry. Then they began an hours-long process of jacking up the floor and beam, taking time to ensure that neither the hardwood floors nor the ceramic tiles on the first floor would be affected by the jacking process. Then they left the site overnight to allow time for things to settle before installing the new beam. The next morning, after inspecting the site, they decided to install a second lally column to make certain the new structure would be more than adequately supported. When the new beam was installed, you could almost hear the house sigh in relief. Floors that had been soft, spongy and creaky were tight and silent. The staircase, which had been sagging, felt as if it were newly built. Then Rob spent several hours on each of the next three days spackling the ceiling and walls that had been disturbed by the work, and reinstalling the molding. Then the job site was rendered squeaky clean. Had Rob been working on his own home, he could not have been more painstaking and careful. Bottom line: R DeLorenzo Contracting does artisanal quality work, on time, on budget, to agreed upon specifications. You may be able to find someone who could do the job cheaper, but you will never find anyone who can do the job better.

Rob and Julie were wonderful to work with, the best contractors that we have had. The bathroom was gutted down to the studs. It had not been updated since 1969. They handled getting all the permits and sub-contractors. Rob/Julie had a contractor that we went over line at a time item by item and if a change had to be made we both updated and initialed it. This ensured no surprises at the end of the process. The house was always very clean at the end of the day. (the cost box is NOT working below - it was approx. $15,000) The work was fabulous- it is exactly what we wanted. Rob made sure to talk with me about placement of everything since I am not very tall. Every piece of the bathroom was replaced and insulated. Sheetrock, tub, radiant heat floor, tiling, sink, toilet etc. Besides the work we honestly believe their best quality was communication, every step of the way I was emailed what process Rob or Julie was on. If there was a purchase of something I missed the receipt was sent right away. We will be using them again. One very small note - for a contractor when Rob does not have his truck he forgets his tape measure. For us it was not a big deal (we laughed) but other people may think it is odd and I would not want them to have a negative opinion and not pick such a great team over something like that.

Rob and Julie were both professional, detail orientated and top notch beginning with the estimate all the way through completion of the work. As Rob started to work, his expertise and skill was immediately apparent and we especially appreciated how he approached things in a consultative way, providing recommendations and discussing options. This provided us with an immediate comfort level. Since we worked previously with other contractors who did not communicate effectively along the way, which led to disappointing results, it was a comfort to know what was happening and not feel in the dark, waiting to see the finished product. Midway through the job, we had some delays with flooring and plumbing that was being installed at the same time. Of course, this impacted Rob but he was completely flexible and revised the work schedule to meet these needs. We are fully satisfied with the work and would trust Rob to manage any future work in our home, without hesitation. Rob and Julie are a team that represents a combination not often found in the world of contractors: business professionalism, skill & workmanship and delivering on their promises.

I have been meaning to write this review for a long time. As part of my job I do corporate construction and am very rigorous about reviewing bids. Along with proposals. I had no less than 10 people from Angie's list come in and quote my kitchen. They all had the same spec sheet and parameters. Rob was not the cheapest or most expensive. However he was the most comprehensive and fare. He coordinated multiple trades at a fare rate. When there was up charge he coordinated a conversation with them to explain what was going on and why. Which I appreciated. I had final say and approval. No work was done without me approving it. Above and beyond that everyday when I got home my house immaculate. It was vacuumed and cleaned. I didn't feel like I was living in a warzone. Which is huge. Finally Rob did a great job on my kitchen. I was pleased with job he did. I am truly lucky to have found him. I would not think twice about giving him a job. Thanks Rob!

Rob and Julie were very professional from the beginning of our discussions about this project. They were very helpful in acquiring the type and quality level for the products I desired. Their estimate, and later the contract, spelled out all our agreements. They were flexible in establishing dates for the various phases of the project consistent with my scheduled availability. Based on the attention to customer service of Julie and the quality of workmanship of Rob and Bill I would definitely use R. Delorenzo Contracting again and DO recommend them to others.

Rob and Julie helped us with our basement project. We have a large basement (~1300 sq. ft) that needed to be finished and were looking for a contractor who could come up with design ideas, execute on those ideas within a reasonable amount of time and budget. We found that in the DeLorenzo?s with Rob and Julie. They both were a very good team and exactly what we were looking for in a contractor to finish our basement. Rob was very knowledgeable, detailed, and thorough in his workmanship. Julie was equally good in managing subcontractors, timelines, and expectations. In our first interaction, Rob was very patient listening to our wish list of things for our basement. He spent an incredible amount of time listening and discussing ideas even though we had formally not started the project or signed a contract with them. What I like about Rob, apart from his honesty and workmanship, is his willingness to spend time with you to listen first, share ideas, and discuss all possible alternatives. This does not mean he is slow in deciding, it means he is thorough and thinks through a situation rather than soldiering his way through. We spoke with 6 contractors over 6 months before selecting the DeLorenzos and we were glad we did that. Every contractor had one or two unique capabilities, but Rob and Julie have a unique set of qualities. They are genuinely loving people first. Apart from their contracting skills, they are people who you feel good talking and interacting with. Rob and Julie shared design ideas, plans and expectations in a open, honest and collaborative fashion. They suggested designers, sub-contractors and included us in talking to the people they were planning to hire first. The work was executed in a very professional, yet friendly manner. At no point in the project did they make us feel that we were either stretched for resources or time. The sub-contractors that they hired for portions of the project were all very good and the best part was how Julie managed them to let work continue seamlessly from one to the next. She was firm on dates and the work output from the sub-contractors. When she did not like something as a output (believe me in a project as big as our, there were bound to be some), she made sure it was done the right way. We did not have to compromise at all at any point during the project on the work output. Someone once told me that you judge a person by the way they treat others during good and bad times. I saw this with Rob and Julie. Any large project like ours has its share of surprises, but the way they approached these surprises was simply outstanding. They managed people effectively, i.e. got the work done, but in a compassionate way. We can tell you that you will not go wrong with hiring Rob and Julie for any of your projects because even in the most difficult and unexpected phases of the project, they were calm, courteous, and willing to put the extra effort to make sure the outcome is good (even in situations when it wasn?t their responsibility).
Description of Work: Rob and Julie helped us with our basement project. We had a large unfinished basement (~1300 sq. ft) with foundation and concrete floors visible and no insulation. Rob and his team built designed the space from scratch. The basement now has a full bathroom, media room, game room, library, and a bar.

Rob and Julie DeLorenzo were a pleasure to work with. We wanted to bring our kitchen to a new modern and clean style and they delivered. They listened to our concerns and desires and respond immediately to all our questions. Rob patiently stood with us during the final stage of design with the kitchen specialist. Julie gave us updates on the work regularly and was very easy to reach. We appreciated their dedication to their craft even though we challenged them a little bit with our particular European taste! We recommend without hesitation DeLorenzo contracting for everyone who is looking for a responsible contractor. Julie gave the final touch when she stopped by at the end of the job to clean up all the stainless steel appliances and made them shine.

Rob did a great job for us. We had a window which was so rotted that the glass literally dropped down over an inch into the sill. I spoke to Rob who came over to the house to inspect the window and he suggested we also replace a second window which was showing the same problem just had not yet progressed to the point of dropping the glass down. There were bushes in front of both windows which made it hard to get at each of the windows. He gave me a price of $1,650.00 to replace both with "new construction" double pane Anderson windows which when compared to several other contractors, he was quite competitive. He told me he had to order the windows which were "odd" sized and would take two weeks or so to get in. Two weeks later he called saying they were in and we put together a time about a week later for him to come in and replace them. He showed up on time with the windows and it took him only a day to put them in as he said it would. The bushes looked like they were never touched when he left. He cleaned, taped and shackled and it looked great. I told him when I contracted with him I would paint and he left it all sanded down ready for the paint. I couldn't be happier, he charged what he quoted, showed up on time and it took him only the time he said it would to finish the job and left the work perfect for me to paint without any prep work to be done. I can't ask for anything more. He did a great job.

Steps out to the patio needed replacement. You also had to step down down out of the house, Rob suggested having a step at the same level to make it easier to go down - great idea. The stairs and handrail are solid. Great job at a competitive price.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the DeLorenzo Family. We had several projects that needed to be done before we could put our house on the market and they did the work quickly. They did such a great job calming me down with the work that they were doing, that we kept adding more projects and even had them finish up some painting instead of the other painters we had hired! They went above and beyond what was needed. Friendly, prompt, hard working, reasonably priced, and just good old-fashioned NICE!

Julie wrote me back immediately after my initial inquiry and was really great answering all my questions (on email/phone ) unlike many of the other companies I contacted thru AL. She came over to look at what I needed done & give an estimate. The minute I met Julie i had a good feeling & knew I could trust her and wanted to use her. my job was very small in comparison to what they usually work on and Julie and Rob have been really accommodating fitting me into their schedule. Their pricing is very fair and they're friendly, honest , efficient and helpful...just good people!! I'm going to start breaking things just so I can have them come over more often. ? I would recommend DeLorenzo contracting in a heartbeat.

My master bath desperately needed updating. I had three companies give me estimates. Rob from DeLorenzo Construction came to my house and he reviewed my current situation and made some suggestions. He was very nice and very professional. He asked me lots of questions about things I didn't realize needed to be done and made great suggestions. His wife, Julie, also came. She gave me some design suggestions. DeLorenzo was not the lowest proposal, but I really liked Rob and Julie. They took the time to go through everything for me and were very patient. They followed up in a timely manner and we had great communication. We contracted them to replace the whole bathroom. He started when he said he was going to and was there every day on time. He cleaned up every day and told me what to expect. We were originally going to install a 5' Jacuzzi tub, but when he ripped out the old shower, he found a false wall that gave me an extra foot of space, so I ordered the 6' Jacuzzi tub and it's awesome! He also installed a new stall shower, vanity with marble top, new tile throughout and new lighting. The bathroom came out gorgeous and I am so happy with the work. I feel like they went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied and I am so glad I went with them. I've heard nightmare stories about renovations, but all-in-all, this work went very well and was completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend DeLorenzo Contracting!

Rob is a perfectionist! His work ethics are top quality. In removal of the old tub, sink, toilet and walls he protected the living quarters superbly. He is very precise and his workmanship was also top quality. There was electrical, plumbing and sheetrock to be installed along with the removal of a cast iron tub and replaced with one piece tub and shower fitting perfectly to his "designed to fit " space. The walls were so perfectly spackled one coat of paint was all that was necessary. Thanks Robert for a great job!
