The work was done quickly and efficiently and at the price quoted in the estimate.   The walls are very visible from the street so I was concerned that they must look very good.  I was very pleased with the end result - they blended the new and the old brick effectively.  I would definitely use them again.

Adam and his crew were extraordinary, and I would highly recommend them.

Before choosing Avellino, I got four estimates from other companies. Avellino's quote was similar to the others, but they were the  most professional and responsive.  On the day of work, they came with five men promptly at 8:30am and worked non-stop for 5 hours. They put plastic up and made sure that everything was kept clean on the other side of my basement.  After seeing how they had to break up the floor, I feared that there would be big mess when they left, but they left the basement cleaner than when they arrived. I am so impressed with the workers and company! I will use them again when it's time to redo my patio and any other masonry work I need around the house!

Avellino Custom Masonry sealed a 2000 sq. foot basement in my older home, circa 1950. The scope of work included concrete floor crack repair/sealing as well as a horizontal hydrostatic crack repair in the foundation wall. The owner of Avellino Masonry had extensive knowledge on waterproofing and his crew delivered excellent results. As a structural engineering I hold myself to high standards, which ultimately results in me holding others accountable to a high standards as well. As a homeowner, I rely upon a reputable company that is dependable and honest to complete construction in a timely manner at an affordable price and Avellino Custom Masonry exceeded my expectations in that aspect as well.

  The rain we had in Sept. did not cause any water problem as I had in the past. I thought waterproofing was only effective if done on the inside. Avellino showed me the importance of waterproofing on the outside as done by properly shedding water away from your house by the proper use of  landscaping and masonry materials.

I heard of Avellino through a friend and decided to use them because I was told they could handle not only waterproofing, but also masonry. I needed a small step built at the base of my front lawn to connect to my walkway to my front door. They were able to install that in one day no problem. Then i needed a small foundation repair because of water leakage. That was also finished the same day they built the step. very impressed with Avellino Custom Masonry, and i will definitely be using them in the future.

In the rear side of my house I was experiencing a leak into my basement. I was not sure what it was so I called Avellino, and they came out and took a look. Turns out there was a large crack about 4 feet long, and about an inch thick running down to the footing. Avellino was able to fully re waterproof the existing wall making it completely waterproof. They were also very punctual and finished the job without any problems or delays.

From the time we called Avellino to come and look at our water seepage problem to the completion of the job, each person involved in the process was courteous, conscientious, and honest.  We have been getting water seepage from the block joints in our basement walls since we moved in back in 1999 (after we were assured by the previous owners that the basement is always dry).  Since we now want to finish off part of our basement, we needed to address the issue.  Adam came in, assessed the problem, and provided a solution. 

Once the work started, the crew arrived at 9:00 and quickly got to work. They barely took a break, and completed the job in a couple days.  The test came a couple weeks later when we had a couple days of heavy rain.  We heard the sump pump running so we then inspected the once leaking walls, they were completely dry!!  We now have a completely dry basement that is ready for the next step (and peace of mind)--creating an additional living space.  We are extremely happy with the level of service provided by Avellino and will recommend them to all our neighbors, family and friends.

Avellino's employees are professional and respectful. They worked hard and completed the jobs in a very timely manner. The masonry work is beautiful and efficient. Our new front steps look great with our front porch, greatly improving the landscaping of our home. Adam from Avellino listened to what we were looking for and helped us find the light colored brick we wanted instead of the common bright red brick. The concrete around the front of our house also greatly needed to be redone. Hiring Avellino again was a no brainer for us. They removed the old concrete and correctly poured new. Once it was completed, this almost instantly waterproofed the front portion of our basement. The new concrete was correctly pitched so the water ran away from the house instead of just settling or moving towards the house, which was an issue for us. Our next project will be to redo the concrete around the rear of our home and Avellino Custom Masonry will be the company that we call!

There was a deceptively large fissure at the bottom of my first floor apartment wall that was leaking water. I called Avellino and he sent over a crew. They were nice guys and I watched them dig down and find where the crack started, repair it and double seal it (if that's even the correct way to describe what they did). Whatever they did, it worked! From here on out I'm referring them to any friend of mine who needs a similar service.

Avellino went above and beyond my expectations with my basement. Very friendly and personable workers who knew their craft to the tee. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone in need.

Adam and the team were fantastic.
Adam met with us right away, and provided us with detailed quotations in a timely manner.  When we needed additional work, Adam and team went above and beyond to get the work done on time,  even when we made upgrades to the design of the walkway.  He brought over samples right way, and never pressured us.  The design matched the color palette and style of our house very specifically.  The workers were always prompt, courteous, and neat.  There was always excellent communication.
We love the new stairs and walk, and get compliments from friends and family every time they visit the house.  The improvement to our curb appeal is so dramatic, that some have thought they were at the wrong house!
We previously worked with Adam, and Avellino, about 4 years ago to water proof our entire basement.  Adam was very informative, and professional  and never pressured us.  We met with other recommended basement specialists who really used scare tactics. It had flooded a little when we bought the house, and then badly and more often over recent years.  They placed deep french drains around the entire basement, and moved and added sump pumps.  It was a huge job.  They were  on time, very neat, and efficient.  
Our basement has been completely dry, since the work was done.  We hear the sumps pumps whir often these days, and are reassured.  We were able to re carpet our basement and reclaim it as a fun family living space and no longer have to worry about our foundation.
We plan to use Avellino again soon to fix a retaining wall in the back yard, and Adam gave us a very fair quote, much better than other quotes obtained.  Avellino charges fair prices for excellent work, which stands up over time.

When the simple job of replacing a crumbling retaining wall along one side of my property line turned out to be a very difficult one due to uncooperative neighbors, I could not have been more thankful to have chosen Avellino as my contractor.  Whereas other contractors would have walked away from the job until the problem was resolved, Adam put so much of his time and energy into finding a solution for me.  He went above and beyond his duty making countless calls and unscheduled trips to the township, neighbors and even a land surveyor.  
His efforts paid off and his crew was able to build the retaining wall within a very narrow strip of land.  They did an excellent job of not harming the neighbor's trees (an almost impossible task due to their close proximity), of keeping the area neat and not making too much noise.  As a team they worked very diligently and precisely and could not have been more conscientious.  
The end result was a beautiful masonry wall that not only enhanced the landscape of the house but also resolved a longstanding water issue by providing the necessary drainage that had been lacking with the previous wall.  
I cannot say enough good things about Avellino and would highly recommend them whether it be for masonry, landscaping or waterproofing because as a company they do whatever it takes to get the job done and to satisfy their customer.

During the masonry work the masons pointed out that standing water on the previous platform had rotted woodwork and molding near the front door. They suggested increasing the height of the platform to eliminate some woodwork  and ensuring that the pitch of  the water was away from the house and the basement. Hence providing good waterproofing for the house.

The results are steps that are functional, built with great craftsmanship and beautiful.

The entire project went great.  They are expert masons with excellent workmanship, beautiful stone work, effective waterproofing.  On time, fast, neat, pleasant - super project manager, super crews.  They did the entire project in just two weeks!  And everything at a high level.  They topped our new window wells with bluestone - we now have the most beautiful window wells in Maplewood.  Our pavers and side entrance look great, too.  Basement floor job is perfect.

My family and I have been doing business with Avellino for over 20 years.  We have nothing but the highest praise for their craftsmanship and professionalism.  They have demonstrated through the years the care that they give to their work and how deeply they believe customer service is an anchor for any business.  I don't recommend very many companies, but Billy and his crew, as well as the office staff, are extremely professional, making it very easy for me to recommend them to family and friends.  The entire operation, as far as I'm concerned, gets an A+++ rating.

When I noticed my front entranceway and porch/patio was crumbling, I quickly started looking for a reliable company to help me decide the best course of action.  Billy quickly returned my call and met with me to discuss my options.  He was very helpful in laying out the best design to keep with the styling of my house.  Within a week I had a plan and a price.

A couple years later I started to notice some water seepage in my basement.  Who better to fix water penetrating a foundation wall than a mason.  Once again I called Avellino and I was not disappointed.  The Avellino crew quickly came, dug a trench where the water was seeping in, installed a pipe and hooked it to my current sump pump.  My basement is once again dry and I no longer need to be concerned with water, mold/mildew. 

Avellino has done multiple projects at my home and they have always been extremely professional and very easy to work with.  I never hesitate to call them when the need arises or recommend them to all my family and friends.

The installation of the patio & firepit was very efficient & professional.  It was done in a very reasonable time frame.  The crew that came to do the job were efficient & reliable.  They came at a very reasonable hour in the morning, took their brief lunch break & left by 5/6pm each day.  Always left the work site clean & ready for the next day!  Was always greeted by the work crew with a smile! Was extremely happy with the outcome of the job!  When the job was complete, I could actually call Billy, Adam & the crew my "friend" and mean it!!
