This company is fantastic. I went in with a basic idea of what I was looking for. I gave Glenn an idea of my price range, and he directed me to exactly what I would need. No pressure on me to buy something I couldn't necessarily afford. He even stayed around bit past closing time so that my husband could come in and check things out. He went out of his way to get measurements for the room (the closing on our new home was delayed and things got a bit sticky with the sellers)mans was very understanding when we had to change the installation date a couple times. Highly recommend to anyone.

Glenn is truly amazing.  He is very knowledgeable and makes great recommendations about what would look best for specific areas of the home and details about the product and quality.  The showroom has so many options from which to choose, and Glenn takes his time to show you every option.  I ordered the carpet on a Wednesday and it was installed on Friday - quick service.  The installers were very courteous and took their time while installing to make sure it was done correctly and done well.  They verified the carpets for each specific room prior to installing and removed the existing carpet.  They also hauled away all of the old carpet and padding.  I highly recommend Carpets to Go in Howell!

I called Glenn and asked for a rough estimate on a carpet for a 12x15 room. I told him that I had another estimate from someone but needed a round about figure to compare it to. He gave me a number and then said that he could give me a basic remnant (which is all I needed) for less that what I was quoted, but that I should come in to take a look.
I ran late and he stayed behind to show me the carpets. My daughter even had a tantrum in his store, and he remained calm. He cut me a piece of the carpet with the lowest price (budget was important to me) so that I can show my husband and he gave me other options with slightly higher prices so I had options to choose from. This was nice because the other company I asked got a quote from was very nice, but I was only given two options: An expensive and a less expensive. They were both much higher than Glenn's offer. (though they were 100% nylon ) He explained that because he has everything in stock he was able to get me the best price and also install sooner than most - which is what I needed since the carpet in my daughter's new room was in bad shape.
Once my husband and I decided on which one to get (the middle priced one) I was unable to call right away so I sent him an email. (That did take a while to hear back, so I do suggest to call.) He had us both come back to leave a deposit and schedule the install which was a couple days later. He knocked a few bucks off the total price and was very understanding of the fact that we are just starting out in a new home and do not have a lot of money. Glenn explained that the temperature in the room needed to be at least 70 degrees. We were having trouble with our account being set up and the heat was NOT on the day of the scheduled carpet installation. We called and rescheduled with him without an issue! Orlando was the name of the gentleman who installed the carpet. He did a really awesome job and even let me ask him a ton of questions about how this process is done (I consider myself pretty handy) he swept, vacuumed and even brought me the extra cut pieces of carpet when I asked for them! The whole process from start to finish was very positive with Glenn and Carpets to Go and I know my mother in law will be interested to look at his stock - and when we can afford to change the carpet in our master bedroom - we will most definitely choose Carpets To Go!

It was a terrible experience. They arrived late every day. The Friday before the last day they didn't arrive until 3pm and did a rush job on the 1/4 round installation. Hardly any of the corners matched up. It was a sloppy job. They damaged our molding around our doorways when they took down our doors to shave them from the bottom. They got glue all over our knobs in the laundry room sink that is still there. We're just glad it's all over and that we'll never have to see these people ever again!
Response from Carpets to Go
"Mrs. & Mr. [member name removed] were the most UNREASONABLY PEOPLE I have ever met. There should be a website for contractors to warn other contractors for whom Not to do business with. My company is Very Well Respected. I embrace the business that my wife and I have created. We put our hearts into it. My parents had 15 flooring store and had since retired. I know this business. Retail isn't the easiest, when you have to deal with the [member name removed]. I needed to write this for my own sanity. I look forward to meeting more Angie's List Customers. Glenn and his wife (Owners) were great to deal with during our visit to the store. Not pushy at all. Selection of items to choose from was amazing. The installation was delayed by a renovation project several months, yet Glenn was as patient as one could hope for. When it finally came to the installation, the crew was polite, punctual, and VERY accomodating. They cleaned up before they left each day and put things back where they were moved from. Overall, I could not envision or imagine a better store to work with, from start to finish.
