I ran late and he stayed behind to show me the carpets. My daughter even had a tantrum in his store, and he remained calm. He cut me a piece of the carpet with the lowest price (budget was important to me) so that I can show my husband and he gave me other options with slightly higher prices so I had options to choose from. This was nice because the other company I asked got a quote from was very nice, but I was only given two options: An expensive and a less expensive. They were both much higher than Glenn's offer. (though they were 100% nylon ) He explained that because he has everything in stock he was able to get me the best price and also install sooner than most - which is what I needed since the carpet in my daughter's new room was in bad shape.
Once my husband and I decided on which one to get (the middle priced one) I was unable to call right away so I sent him an email. (That did take a while to hear back, so I do suggest to call.) He had us both come back to leave a deposit and schedule the install which was a couple days later. He knocked a few bucks off the total price and was very understanding of the fact that we are just starting out in a new home and do not have a lot of money. Glenn explained that the temperature in the room needed to be at least 70 degrees. We were having trouble with our account being set up and the heat was NOT on the day of the scheduled carpet installation. We called and rescheduled with him without an issue! Orlando was the name of the gentleman who installed the carpet. He did a really awesome job and even let me ask him a ton of questions about how this process is done (I consider myself pretty handy) he swept, vacuumed and even brought me the extra cut pieces of carpet when I asked for them! The whole process from start to finish was very positive with Glenn and Carpets to Go and I know my mother in law will be interested to look at his stock - and when we can afford to change the carpet in our master bedroom - we will most definitely choose Carpets To Go!
It was a terrible experience. They arrived late every day. The Friday before the last day they didn't arrive until 3pm and did a rush job on the 1/4 round installation. Hardly any of the corners matched up. It was a sloppy job. They damaged our molding around our doorways when they took down our doors to shave them from the bottom. They got glue all over our knobs in the laundry room sink that is still there. We're just glad it's all over and that we'll never have to see these people ever again!
"Mrs. & Mr. [member name removed] were the most UNREASONABLY PEOPLE I have ever met. There should be a website for contractors to warn other contractors for whom Not to do business with. My company is Very Well Respected. I embrace the business that my wife and I have created. We put our hearts into it. My parents had 15 flooring store and had since retired. I know this business. Retail isn't the easiest, when you have to deal with the [member name removed]. I needed to write this for my own sanity. I look forward to meeting more Angie's List Customers.
