The work was perfomed in a very professional manner by Ken Halligan and his excellent team. I liked that Ken did not try to sell me a bigger unit (20 Kw) than I needed - some contractors did. Ken said that I could still power the complete house with the smaller 14 Kw generator and add a Load Control Module to deal with my two 1.5 ton AC's. I thought the price for the job was excellent. There were no hidden charges. Throughout the project Ken answered all my questions (and I did ask many!).
The generator site was leveled and the generator was placed on a pre-fabricated concrete pad on a Wednesday morning. He and his team completed the generator hookup (gas line and electrical work) on the following Friday with some minor work on Monday. All inspections (electrical, plumbing and fire department) passed with no problems. Once the inspections were completed, Ken came by on to instruct me on the generator and transfer switch and the use of the OnCue remote monitoring software. He did the official generator start-up which served to begin the 5-year warrantee period.
I can't speak highly enough for his team (electrical - Ron and Willie; plumbing - Joe). They were very professional and competent. They cleaned up the premises when they were done.
I definitely got my money's worth for this project! I would certainly use Halligan Electric again and have no reservations about recommending then to anyone.

Kenny Halligan installed a Kohler whole house generator for me in April of 2013. He was a consummate professional and all around good guy. I was and continue to be delighted with the quality of the work, the caliber of the product and his incredible responsiveness. I would recommend him unequivocally and will continue to use him for all my household electrical needs.

Kenny Halligan and his crew are very professional. Kenny took care of everything from beginning to end; including permits, inspections, electrical and plumbing. He explained everything in advance and communicated throughout the installation and inspections.

Halligan Electric is a Kohler Platinum Sales and Service dealership. Everything was included in his quote (except the cost of permits which vary by town and which I paid directly). There were no surprises.

I do recommend getting quotes, but do your homework and understand what you are getting and not getting for comparison purposes.
I received quotes through both Lowes and Home Depot, but their quotes were for Generac generators (engines made in China) and on a gravel bed. Communication with Lowes and Home Depot was terrible. In addition, I did not have much confidence with the Lowes and Home Depot contractors who came to provide the quotes.

Also if you get compatible quotes, ask who is going to perform the installation and how many generators they have installed in the past year. You want a contractor with experience who installs and services a lot generators. Halligan Electric 's business is generators . . . and they install a lot.

The Kohler generator engines are US made and have a 5 year warranty. My generator was installed on a concrete pad instead of gravel. Finally, If you do decide on a Kohler generator have it installed by an authorized Kohler dealer to maintain your warranty.

I highly recommend Halligan Electric, and expect to use them for service in the future if ever needed.

Halligan Electric's owner, Kenny was very friendly, responsive and professional. Job was completed on shedule and Halligan's staff was very neat and courteous. Workmanship was excellent. Price was very competitive with other bids received. A very positive experience overall. I would not hesitate to use Halligan Electric again.

From start to finish Kenny Halligan guided through the process regarding the installation of my generator. I chose him because he is a dealer for Kohler and I wanted follow up maintenance that he provides. I couldn't have chosen a better company to have accomplished my needs. Ron and Willy were spot on with the work that required to install my generator they took great care keeping the work space spotless. I did find Halligan Electric on my own but I am pleased to be able to pass on my experience about these guys to all who are looking for a company that does it right!

Kenny Halligan was very personable, answered all questions and quickly replied to phone messages.
Installation was done as promised and at the cost promised.
Kenny handled all permits.
Installation work was neat and clean and Kenny went over all features of the generator and made sure everything worked as it was supposed to before taking final payment.
If I had to do it over again, I'd call Kenny in a heartbeat. I can't say enough about Kenny's professionalism and personality. Very easy to deal with. No BS.

Overall, we were most pleased with our decision to go with Ken Halligan and would highly recommend him.
