Quality Auto Truck and Tire

Ever since moving I was trying to find a shop with which I would feel comfortable. Tried a few and eventually fell back to using the mechanic I used to go before moving despite the distance. A few days back I've noticed all the good reviews of this one elsewhere and scheduled an alignment appointment. Once the car was in they have noticed that it has aerodynamic covers on the bottom of the car and charged $60 more over the original quote to remove/replace them... And all it takes to take them off is to unscrew a few bolts... Would have been cheaper to do the alignment at dealership...

0 Stars If I could rate as 0!! This was the worst car repair experience of my life. I was deceived and lies to when the shop owner John LaRue told he her was putting in a VW original part and pulled a bait and switch and installed a different part. He then told me the parts are the same, claiming the part is an OEM part. This is another lie, there is only one factory original part that comes from the dealership. There are other OEM manufacturer's, meaning the parts will fit specifications for the original part, however the part is not an original VW part. The cost of the original VW factory part he told me he was installing was close to $800, and he told me he had a good relationship with Flemington VW and could get the part for just under $700 (and he was going to give me the part for cost and not make any money off me. He never told me he used a different part and didn't list the brand of the part or the part number on the original receipt he game me. I had to ask him to list the part number of what was used. Interestingly enough I went online and in 5 minutes found the part he installed for $307. Don't be fooled by this. OEM is NOT a Factory Original part!!!! It gets better, I told him I wanted a performance clutch installed when he proposed two options, a standard Sachs clutch kit and a performance Sachs clutch kit for ~$200 more. He not only installed a different brand clutch (not what I agreed on) the clutch brand he installed (Luk) was not a performance clutch. Luk does not even offer a performance clutch for my car. I went on line and in 5 mins found the clutch he installed listed at $246. He charged me $560 for the part. The part number was not initially listed on the invoice. I think its easy to determine what is going on here. I was lied to and deceived. This shop gives auto mechanics a bad name. If he did this to me, I wonder how many other people he did it to, without them knowing. I am not sure what shop the other reviews are referring to, clearly it is not Quality Auto Truck and Tire. Stay away!! I have contacted an attorney. This is fraud.

I started going to John because his garage was less than a mile from my house. Over the course of eight years I have continued to use his repair service because of the level of trust I have in his business. I have brought all my cars there, for everything from oil changes to tires and scheduled services and mystery ailments, and John has always treated us fairly. He always gives us prices ahead of time and gives us options and recommendations. Even though I know little about cars and am skeptical by nature, I continue to visit John even though his garage is now eight miles further from my house. Worth the extra drive. You can't put a price on trust, but his pricing is reasonable anyway.
