JL Molding Design is a small company that will devote time for the design and for the installation of custom architectural molding that will complement your home's interior decor. By using our services you receive a personalized one on one design consultation to help you visualize what will look best in your home. We will listen to your needs and will work with you to get you the look that you desire. You will not only receive the highest quality of work, but an accurate and "clean" install, as well as, an on time completion. How many contractors do you know that will vacuum after they work? We do! I like to say that we leave your home just as clean as when we arrived. Remember, it’s the little things that we do that make a difference.

I was near completion of a kitchen remodel, along with two living rooms, and a bathroom in Point Pleasant, and i needed a some finish trim work completed. 300 hundred feet of new crown molding, 400 ft of new base molding, a large amount of wainscoting, a dozen windows and a ten doors, etc... basically, trim galore! That's when i hired John. JL Molding Design exceeded my expectations in every way! The detail they bring is top notch! I couldn't have asked for a better job. If you want to transform your room, renovation or house, have this guy do the finish trim work! I highly recommend John and will no doubt utilize his services again when i do the other side of the house!

John and his team arrived right on time and they were all very courteous and friendly. On top of the outstanding work they did with installing the decorative molding everything was cleaned up spic and span before they left! I can't recommend John highly enough!

JL Molding is definitely THE trim and molding company for the tri-state! John and his amazing team came to my home, redid all the baseboards, built beautiful new door surrounds and casings, and installed large shadow boxes in the foyer all without any single damage on the venetian plastered walls or the foyer. Above all, John was spot on with his predicted completion date, and they left the home spotless! Pleasure doing business with them, looking forward to the next time I work with JL Molding for my next project. Thanks guys!

JL Molding did a great job installing and matching the joints and not marking the newly painted walls! My home was built in the 90's and now the interior looks 30 years newer! Very cost effective way to update. I love my new molding!

Beautiful work! We tried doing crown molding in our dining room ourselves and could not figure it out. Our ceiling, walls, and corners are not perfectly straight and we couldn't get the measurements right. We called JL Molding Design and they came over the same week and completed the job in two hours. We would still be there going crazy. Very professional, patient, and responsive. Fair pricing. I'd definitely have them back to do other rooms in our house.

Phenomenal experience with JL Molding who did both 2 story wall molding and crown molding in our kitchen, hallway, family room, and foyer. John was extraordinarily detail oriented, spent a great amount of personal time helping us make the right selections and was hands on during the installation. His crew was incredibly professional, courteous and kept us in the loop throughout the entire process. The finished product is gorgeous - could not be more happy. My one regret is not doing this sooner as our home looks so much more finished. I would definitely use JL Molding again and recommend them to our friends.

We were greatly encouraged by the quality of work showcased on [*** Link removed ***] together with the positive reviews featured here on Angie's List. Additionally, when John visited our home to provide an estimate, we were shown even more photos of high quality, finished crown molding work. John mentioned that it was possible that during the finishing (painting, etc) of the molding, his workers may spill a few paint drops on our wall. This wasn't an issue for us as we understood this would be difficult to avoid...we were just happy that the product shown and described to us was going to be finished (holes and seams filled and painted). The installation was carried out on a Friday while we were at work and we looked forward to seeing our new molding that evening, however, upon returning home we were shocked and confused (See attached photos). We were greeted by significant damage to our walls (deep scratches and marks), debris from the install laying on the floor (JL Molding Website reads, "How many contractors do you know that will vacuum after they work ? We do!") but perhaps most importantly we were looking at unfinished molding where the nail holes and seams were not filled in and of course there was no painting. We assumed they would return the following day to finish the job so I sent John a brief email for him to indeed confirm this. To our absolute dismay, we were told that the job was complete and there would be no finished product. We spoke to John later that evening on the phone and he eventually understood how angry we were and promised to return the following morning to complete the job. As promised, John returned with one of his workers and spent 2 hours filling in the nail holes and seams, they didn't paint. The only reason I did not provide an F grade was because John returned to finish what they started. In summary, it was a stressful experience working with JL Molding and one we would not recommend to anyone in the central NJ area.

"I was greatly disappointed to read this review. We always encourage and appreciate feedback from our Angie's List customers, as we always strive for [Member Information Removed] percent satisfaction. Unfortunately, in this case, regardless of what we offered and what we did, we could not please the client. During the initial meeting, it was never stated that painting was included. The walls in one room were in the process of being painted.  I mentioned that it's always best to paint the molding first, as a painter may bleed white paint onto the wall color, to which [Member Name Removed] replied, "It's fine, I don't mind painting." The couple was in a huge rush to get the project completed. I even met with them on a weekend and fit them into our schedule by the end of the week, by moving another job in order to get theirs completed. The job was for "materials and installation" and did not include caulking or painting. The sheetrock ceiling in this older house was extremely wavy. The crown needed to be tapped into place to get the joints perfect. [Member Name Removed] said his wife was extremely upset that the job didn't include paint, nail holes filled and caulking.  The photos [Member Name Removed] posted only showed very close up photos of the crown with the nail holes to make the job look bad. Wanting to make every customer [Member Information Removed]% satisfied, I, along with another employee, returned on that Sunday to fill all the holes and caulk. We were greeted into the home by [Member Name Removed] and asked if there was anything else that we could do to make him [Member Information Removed] percent satisfied. He stated, "The fact that you returned and will fill and caulk is what I was looking for...thank you."  We filled all the nail holes, caulked the top and bottom and removed all of the marks on the wall. Again, we always strive for complete satisfaction. During my 16 years in this business, with over 1000 satisfied clients, I've never run into this situation. On that day I sent the following email, "[Member Name Removed] Want to let you know that we are just wrapping up. I was able to remove all the marks on the wall the best that I could. Your husband said he wasn't as concerned about them as with the nail holes and caulking but I couldn't leave without addressing it. The other employee that was assigned to your project will be put on a weeks suspension. There is no excuse for not being careful and I apologize. There is one joint that needed sanding as you'll see in the picture. Just a little bit of primer and then paint over it. If there are ANY concerns or questions please feel free to reach out to me" We are still an A rated company and we encourage you to read ALL of our reviews.  In our proposals, we provide the contact information of four of our most recent clients, and we encourage you to contact all of them to ask about their experiences. John and his team were great. I called him on a Thursday, he came the next day to make recommendations and provide me with a price. We agreed on the project and within a week he had his team there to complete the job. They were prompt and very professional. Everything looks great. I won't hesitate to reach out to them for future projects.

John prepared the estimate and supervised the work. He always returns email & phone calls promptly. Best of all, he did a very professional job. I love my new doors! They work and don't stick! He took pictures of the work on the high window after the repairs, so we didn't have to get out a ladder to see what was done. My husband, who is very hard to please, said that John's work exceeded his expectations. Can't do better than that.

I have never had a better experience with a home improvement project as I had with John Langan and his company JL Molding Design. From our first interaction (through Angie's List) to the final finishing touches completed yesterday, the project went smoothly and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. John listened very carefully to our requirements, offered suggestions to enhance the beauty of the cabinets and molding he installed, worked efficiently during the install, and cleaned up completely after the installation.

The installation went fairly well. Very prompt and professional. We have A LOT of bowing on our ceilings and walls being an older house making the job more complicated. They made various suggestions on how to handle it. I was happy with the way it turned out. Would hire again.

My husband and I hired JL Molding to do the molding, doors hardware, kitchen/bathrooms cabinets installation in our newly constructed home.
JL Molding definitely met our expectations upon completing the job, to the point where we receive compliments from house quests.
There were a couple of issues we encountered in the kitchen area, but John took care of them right away, answering all of question and concerns promptly and courteously.In the end,it was all taken care of and very well done.

John is a top notch contractor. He listens to everything you say, provides his opinion and gives excellent workmanship. He is on site, his workers are professional and polite. He is neat, a perfectionist, and wants to make sure the customer is happy. His finished product was beautiful and we are extremely happy. I would recommend him without hesitation and will definitely use him again when we finish the upstairs rooms with trim work.
