Excellent! Another provider told me that I needed the springs on the door replaced for $1200!

I was discouraged and wanted another opinion. I was impressed from the start with independent door..the woman that returned my call, Annette, was extremely knowledgeable.

The person that scheduled my service was also helpful and personable.

the service tech was a very friendly young man who quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem with the doors and got them going again in about 10 minutes!

This went very well. They called before they came and the 2 men worked quickly to complete a successful reconditioning of the door. It now works smoothly and quietly and we are well satisfied.

When we had a problem with the door opener a few months later, I could not get anyone to return my calls for service.  I ended up using someone else for the repair.  Very disappointing.

The gentleman that we worked with was very customer oriented and honest. Since he lives nearby, he wound up coming out on his own time over the weekend to do the work and we appreciated that.

After receiving quotes from two others, I contacted Hillsborough Doors.  Joe Veglatte was courteous, prompt, not overly pushy, and knowledgable.  Although I only dealt with him over the phone (my wife handled the details on the ground), I established a level of trust in him that I didn't get from at least one of the others I dealt  with previously.  Their prices were competitive and he was open to some negotiation.  I decided to go with Hillsborough based on both price and the level of comfort I felt with Joe.  They came when they said they would (job was booked and completed with two weeks of initial deposit).  Everything turned out perfectly, with zero hitches.   I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  I'd highly recommend using Hillsborough.

They did a terrific job. They were on time and left the job site clean.

They were courteous and explained well as to what the problem was and how they could fix it. However I felt they charged a premium for their service as they were more expensive in their labor and materials than others. I used a $25 coupon from Angie's list which they accepted. When I recommend them, I will let others know that they cost more than others but do good work.

Jim came over, measured, ran me though options, set a date and sent a tech to install the door. Timely, affordable, great quality. Overall excellent experience.

Starting with my phone call to the office, service was exceptional.  Friendly, knowledgeable, etc.  When the service man arrived (1/2 hour early...BONUS!), he tested the door, determining (correctly!) that the pulley system needed replacing.  He was done within an hour.  The door is now moving smoothly and quietly!  And here we thought we would need new 'everything' on the door!

They were very responsive. They made an appointment; they were able to make an appointment when I called. They came when they said they would be there. The gentleman worked in a really quick manner to see what the problem was and solved it. He did a very good job. In terms of price, I am not that familiar with what other companies might charge but it seemed to be a fair price. I would certainly use their services again in the future.

From the moment the office person answered the phone until the time the installer left my home it was a pleasant experience.

The person I spoke to on the phone understood what I need, provided a quote over the phone (which is exactly what I paid) and went out of her way to make sure someone came out quickly so I could at least get my garage door open.

From the initial phone call to the completed service, I was very pleased with the Hillsborough Garage Door Store Company (I believe it is listed as "Independent Overhead Door Company" here on Angie's List as well).  When I first made the call to get my Garage Door serviced, I spoke to a very nice person, Bob, who asked me some questions to gauge what specific work needed to be completed and was quickly able to work out with me a convenient time to complete the service.  Jim came to work on the service call; he showed up early (!) and gave the garage door springs the tightening they needed, as well as re-calibrating the sensors.  My husband and I were unable to locate out garage door opener remote, so Jim was able to replace our remote and programmed it to work with our garage.  Overall, an enjoyable experience; I plan to use the Hillsborough Garage Door Store Company in the future!

Showed up on time, finished work and cleaned up.  Job well done.  

They came first day to see what the problem was.  Fixed door temporarily so we could use it.  Came back 4 days after and did the repairs.  They were very prompt and efficient...

A total nightmare.  Made an appointment and they didn't show up.  Decided to give them a second chance.  Specifically asked them to call me with the cost before performing work which didn't happen.  When he did his work, he created a huge hole in the garage door and there is a 3 inch gap from the ground to the bottom of the door.  Plus, it took weeks to get a copy of the receipt. Now I have to get an entirely new door and their quote was outrageously high.  I can't warn you enough to stay away from these people. UPDATE:  after a call with a combative and angry Joe (who told me that I am a liar - nice!), I promised to adjust my statement above to note that he did indeed call me with the cost of the work before it was performed. 

I called them because I had spoken with a sales person 2 years earlier, who spent time explaining options to me. They did have to reschedule the first (sales) visit once. When the sales person did come, he did some measurements, and was happy to spend time explaining everything and offering me options. Very down-to-earth, no hard-sell. I asked many questions (about springs, controls, etc.), and got the price, which was about, or a little lower than I expected. Without hesitation, I signed the contract and deposited 50%, and was told my door would arrive in about 2 weeks. About a week later, they called me to say the doors had arrived, and I selected a day for installation. The installer came on that day and did an excellent job, finishing in 1 day, as promised (worked a little bit later than I scheduled for). The next week, the sales person called back to see how everything was, and I said I might need some minor things (adjustments, etc.), and he guided me through more questions. In the end, I only needed the outside handles put on, which I did not originally order. Therefore, I offered to pay for the handles, but he told me I didn't have to; they would stop by again and put the little handles on for free, because they want their customers to be happy. IN SUMMARY: Hillsborough is one of the best contractors I've ever done business with. They are friendly, honest, customer-focused, reasonably priced, high quality, and reliable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

It went very well. I went to the showroom in early December 2010, spoke with a salesman who showed me a variety of options in my budget. I called them the next day to get a quote on the door I was interested in and they send someone out to measure that day and gave me a quote. They said it would take 2-4 weeks for manufacture/installation. It took a little longer than that (possibly due to the holidays). I called in mid January and learned that my door had recently arrived and that they could install the next week. Installation was of good quality and took only a few hours.
