The job seemed to go pretty well.  Joe worked on the trim while his associate installed the new doors.  The first I noticed a problem was just after they left when I realized they had not left me any of the materials for the doors - instructions, warranties, small parts to finish the door.  I immediately called Joe, and he said he would look for it in the daylight and drop it off..  When I followed up a couple days later, he told me it had all been thrown out. I had to order the materials and parts myself.
Some time later, I noticed that there was a band of light coming into the room through the door frame.  I could similarly see light coming out of the house through the door frame at night.  I had purchased Energy Star doors in order to seal the cold air out, but the doors were not properly installed, allowing air to come in between the door and the frame.
I attempted to contact Joe Baita many times over the years, leaving phone messages, sending emails, and even leaving messages at the hardware store to have him contact me.  He never did.  Last spring I ran into him at the doctor's office.  We chatted a bit, during which he admitted that his partner started doing poor work, but that he had not wanted to fire him.  He agreed to come inspect the problem the following week.  I called Joe the next week and set up an appointment.  I waited for him all afternoon, but he neither came nor called.  I have left several messages since, but he has not returned my calls.
