Stay away from Statewide Moving and Storage. They will give you a low ball price, complete some of the job, send mostly unqualified movers, loose and not return what you are moving and ignore you when questioned. Mike Rivello the owner is a rude and uncooperative owner who doesn't run a good business and has no ethics to what others offer. I have used Bohrens on 6 different occasions and chose them because a friend referred me to them. NEVER again and my lost item was something from my Late husband and was a tranquility fountain and he referred to it as my STUPID LITTLE FOUNTAIN in text. There are way to many great movers out there. Stay away from Mike Rivella and Statewide Moving and Storage in Hightstown NJ. I was quoted 1564 and charged me over 3600$

I don’t normally write reviews but felt the need to in this situation. I DO NOT recommend this company – they put profit above customer satisfaction. If you choose to use them, do not trust what you are told on move day - double check the receipt for accuracy of the time and do not sign it if you disagree. Also, if the men do not appear capable of lifting/carrying heavy furniture, I would call the company immediately and ask for people who are. I moved in late June and was disappointed with the outcome. The men were very nice, but clearly not strong enough to move the furniture. Most of my furniture was scratched and damaged, I was charged for a full 4 hours when the move (and the drive to and from their headquarters) took just about 3, and when I called/emailed to discuss, I was told that they went by their gps and since I signed the paperwork and didn’t ask for extra insurance, there was nothing they could do.

State wide made my moving experience totally painless and took care of my every need. Everything was easy, from booking the move on the phone, to moving day. The crew was on time. Worked very hard and accommodated my requests. The price was fair and I would definitely HIGHLY recommend their services.

Too much to list but I received a phone call the day before I was closing on my home and Loren ask if I was still moving the next day...after confirming with him via email at least 5 times.He scrambled to get a last minute group together whom I felt bad for because you know 1/2 were just friends or friends - no way experienced movers. Clothing boxes were not provided. He instructed the lead mover on the day of the move to tell me that payment was to be made in cash or certified check only. I pointed out that it said credit cards as well on their website. That should have been my first clue into how the business is run. I paid via credit card. I was NEVER told that ALL of the contents of my bedroom and dining room furniture had to be emptied....on the day of the move no less. I've moved a few times and was never asked that. It all went into large lawn garbage bags that I luckily had. Unfortunately I will not be using Angie's list again.

They were very professional. the packing and moving was very professional and well-done. Nothing damaged. There was a misunderstanding initially about the price of the packing (I did not realize it would be so expensive) but after a conference call with Loren and the owner Michael it was resolved amicably. The only recommendation would be to make certain that if you are going to get packing that you get a price quote for that separately. Other than that one issue, I was very happy and would definitely use again.

We had used State-wide for our previous move ten years ago, and it was a relatively painless experience as far as moves went. Unfortunately, time seems to have adversely affected this business. These movers are just not good anymore. Their quote seemed reasonable, but it underestimated the number of hours required for the move, the necessary staffing, and moving supplies. At the end, the move was much more expensive than we anticipated, and our furniture, walls, and floors got damaged. It took 6 guys and two trucks over 12 hours to move the contents of one house to another. At one point during that time, we had as many as 10 guys working, even though the entire contents of the house was already packed. Needless to say, it was impossible to keep track of who was doing what... or nothing at all. The movers took smoke breaks, water breaks, chatting breaks, whatever breaks. They used the bathroom without closing the door. They cursed at each other for not doing enough or not listening to the guy in charge. They did not have enough tools (refrigerator dolly) or supplies (glass and mirror boxes) and had to wait for their boss to deliver more. After they loaded the first truck, it took them an hour to drive ten miles to the new house. Apparently, they decided to pick up lunch on the way... and left all the trash on the front lawn of my new house. I was finding gatorate and water bottles in random places at each of the houses for a week after the move. They scratched the main staircase, moving the piano. They dropped a dresser, damaging the wood and breaking the leg off its bottom, so that we had to get it repaired. They scratched up the wood of a curio and did not hang the glass doors correctly. We had to dismantle it again and put it back together ourselves. They dinged the door of the fridge. They tried moving a glass-top desk without taking it apart and then tried to leave before putting it together. The walls in my new house are sporting new dents and holes in the basement and in the foyer. The sheetrock had to be patched and painted. The movers broke the bluestone walkway and damaged the front steps, which cost over a thousand dollars to repair. The guy in charge promised to have all the issues addressed. However, after these guys left at the end of the day, collecting their exorbitant fee in cash, we never heard from them again.

In every respect it is a mistake to hire this company. Somehow they had a good rating on Angie's list and called me through HomeAdvisor. It was a huge mistake to hire them because: They did not show up on the first day of a 2-day planned move. So, with friends' help, we ended up packing a lot of our stuff that day with no help form them. As a result of their not showing up, they could not finish moving the furniture to our apartment by the designated time for our building, which they were told a few days before. Because of their delay, our building charged us an extra $250. Due to their poor management, they did not get to our storage unit on time that night. So, rather than apologizing and amending the situation, the manager Loren was rude and angry with us and those at the storage unit. He left angrily with the our furniture but came to our apartment, assembled the bed and then asked us to pay the entire amount of his original estimate (over $5000) in cash even though they had not yet completed the job and had the rest of our furniture that still had to go to storage. Besides, the original estimate included another stop, most of the packing and a month of storage, none of which we used. We ended up giving him a personal check but he left without giving us a receipt or any proof that he had the rest of our stuff to still be delivered to storage (in 1-2 weeks). We were exhausted and did not realize the mistake we made by giving him a check for the full amount. So we decided to give 60% to him in cash in their office and pay him the rest when he delivered our furniture to the storage unit. So we canceled the check, and told him why, as well as about the payment in cash as he had insisted on the night before. I called, texted and emailed him and the owner Mike and their office with no answer. Finally, he responded in late afternoon and said that they will bring them in the morning. He treated this as a new job costing us about $385, saying that it would take about an hour to unload the furniture. In the morning he told me to bring another $200 because a few boxes were not counted. So we met them at the storage unit but they did not start unloading until they had all the money from his original estimate. We ended up giving them to get our stuff. However, in the middle of the unloading they suddenly stopped and demanded another $885 to continue unloading. UNBELIEVABLE. They started wrapping up to leave with our stuff in their truck unless we paid them more money in cash. In addition to using such horrible tactics and intimidation to get more money, they lost many screws, pegs and hardware, caused damage and scratches on our furniture, mixed up items meant for delivery to apartment vs storage despite color coded marks on items. They told us the furniture going to storage would be wrapped in plastic for protection and temporarily wrapped in their blankets for the move. However they wrapped their blanket first then the plastic! which meant they had to cut the protective plastic wrap to get their blankets, leaving our stored furniture unprotected. Upholstered furniture which needed to be wrapped in storage were left with no protection. Despite my repeated request to leave large furniture on one side to allow a small path to the boxes that they placed in the back, they stacked the furniture in a way that we can not access anything. They even used my request as an excuse for charging us more. I have moved many times in my life but this was the absolute worst experience ever. I did not expect to have such a dishonest, unprofessional, incompetent company, especially, manager and owner who use intimidation to get more money while providing a horrible service. A professional, honest business would have compensated us for their mistake of missing the first day, and for the charge of staying past the cut off for our apartment. Quite the opposite he blamed us for their not finishing the job in time, getting to the storage unit at closing time, and them having to come back another day. They took our furniture hostage to get more money. They ask for cash or money order which should have been a sign of an unprofessional business. Later I found out among their reviews that they used the same trick on other people, keeping their furniture until they were paid more. I can not believe they had a good rating on Angie's List.

The service provided by the staff in moving, boxing, and loading from our New Jersey residence of over 42 years was done very professionally, quickly, and their advice was extremely helpful to us. Although a slight glitch in our contact numbers, (our fault), the delivery was a day late. Our truck delivered to us on Super Bowl Sunday with no extra charge for our delivery. I only hope the guys got back for kick-off. Again, I would like to thank Mike Rivella, owner, and his staff for the excellent work provided.

I have used Statewide Moving numerous times. The statement on the side of the truck was true. I was treated like family. The response was prompt. The service remains professional and complete. All of my fragile items were treated like they were owned by the company. Above all else the politeness of the company from top to bottom was very refreshing compared to today's harsh atmosphere!!

I've used this company once before without any problems however this time was a complete disaster. To make a long story short the sales rep failed to provide the necessary equipment to move all of my belongings. One truck was was initially all that was needed however the movers could not fit everything into the truck. A second truck was requested and a small van showed up. Ultimately, the van couldn't fit everything and we were forced to leave some belongings in the garage, with permission of the new owners of course.
The day was extremely hectic and Statewide Moving made it 100 times worse. I had my property stored overnight with the expectation the trucks wold be at the new place the next morning....they didn't show up until the afternoon. The movers, themselves, were descent and nothing was broke or missing. Oh, and additional fees were required due to their failure and I got hounded until I paid. 
Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Moving day is hard enough...save yourself the aggravation and hire someone else.

Unfortunately, we could not fit all of your belongings on a 2000+ cu. ft. truck but we immediately made another vehicle ready for your use and did not charge for the additional vehicle on an hour basis or for the overnight storage. Typically, when items are held overnight, the earliest they can be delivered is the afternoon of the following day due to closings. If this was not the case, again we apologize. Please take into consideration that the move was completed in the original timeline with no damage. Thank you for your continued patronage!"
