Hightstown Frigidaire Repair

First off, I called the company and asked a fair amount of questions. I called other companies and found that the initial $50 diagnositc fee was pretty standard, others costing more but, nothing less. I was told by this company that the $50 would be deducted from the cost of the repair. I also specifically asked if the person doing the repair was an employee or a contractor. The guy who answered the phone said that all of their repairmen are employees and that they do not work with contractors. I asked if the person would have ID and he replied that he would. I made the appoinment with a window between 3-5pm for the following day, the repairman did not arrive until after 6pm, although he did call twice to advise he would be late. When he arrived he was in what appeared to be a personal car and did not have a visible ID or anything identifying him as an employee with the company. I asked if he was a private contractor and he replied that he was. I told him that I did not have a problem with that, however I specifically asked the man who made the appointment and he said that they did not work with contractors. The repairman was very nice and gave me his business card, although I had to request he fill out the blank receipt he tried to give to upon completion of the work. He repaired my broken part at what he said was a 'discounted' rate, however I was told that the $50 would still be charged. I couldn't get an understandable explanation of that since I was told it would be deducted from the price of the repair, however I think it had something to do with him being a private contractor and trying to keep as much of the money for himself. All in all, my problem was not with the repairman but, with the company, therefore the ratings reflect the company and not the repairman. If they can't even be honest about who they are sending to do the repairs, what else are they lying about? Never again. They lost a return customer.
