Description of Work: Jo did the carpentry and drywall for a new basement bathroom. This included framing, insulation, drywall, and hanging doors.

Description of Work: Removed old grout; replaced it (and tiles) with new. Patched large hole in drywall. Hung aggravating blinds.

Description of Work: Made new wood door taller. Installed new wood door with hardware we gave her. Installed new storm door. Fixed windows that did not slide up and down properly.

Description of Work: I wanted to fix a few problems on a 22 year old deck. I did not want or need to replace it at this time. Jo provided an estimate on the agreed upon date and time. I was not pressured into doing more upgrades than necessary. Jo replaced the deck steps, all cap boards and one floor board. She also Installed a new deck gate and created a support bracket for the corner where the deck met the house wall.

Description of Work: Jo completely renovated our bathroom as well as did beautiful carpentry work in our second floor bedrooms and hallway. The bathroom was a complete gut job and, having lived through one previously, I was very concerned about dirt in the rest of the upstairs--no worries! Her work was so neat, even while gutting the entire bathroom, that you wouldn't have known that she was there. Her eye for space and design is impeccable--by moving one wall, she was able to fit in a full height cabinet where before there was totally empty space. We supplied the tub, toilet and vanity and she brought in the subs: plumber and electrician. But every detail went through her. Her perfectionist attitude really comes through in her tile work; her suggestions in that area made a big difference in how the bath and shower area worked out. We stripped all of the carpet out of our second floor in order to have the wood floors refinished and realized that all of our room and closet doors and mouldings were now about 1 1/2 inches shy of the floor! We had expected to replace all the mouldings; replacing all of the doors would have been an extra expense for which we hadn't budgeted but Jo came up with a solution. She added the extra wood needed at the bottom of each door; her carpentry work is so good that when we painted the doors, you can't see where the wood was added. Jo is a neat, personable, creative, talented person. She arrives when she says she will be there, makes as little noise as possible -- we have an office just below where she was working with clients coming in and out -- and is delightful to work with. I couldn't recommend a better person to work with in a renovation.

Description of Work: Joe replaced my front porch railings, put new trim on the column bases, replaced my front steps and did concrete patching of the lowest step.
