When we put the granite in our house we used this place called Artistic Marble.  This guy is actually on TV.  They have really great, beautiful marble but from the time that we picked out what we wanted out there to the time it got installed and afterwards it became a total nightmare.  They came out and did the template on the counter tops and we went back to the store to have it template out, you know what part of the stone we wanted.  It turned out that even though we gave them the correct measurements before when we went out there he says, this is not going to fit on one stone, were going to have to charge you another $800 because we have to cut another stone.  So my wife says if you're going to charge us $800 then we want to have this by the next week on a Wednesday.  Tuesday came around and they called and says, well were not coming until Thursday and my wife blew up at them because we already paid them an extra $800 to have it done on time and they weren't on time.  When they did come out they finally did agree to bring it out on a Wednesday.  The installers slapped the stuff on.  They never really installed the sink and there was an issue with the sink because it was a farmers sink and it was suppose to be, you know usually when they put the counter tops on they're suppose to silicone it to the counter, they didn't do that.  The cabinet under the farmers sink was totally enclosed and they should have said something to the contractor who was standing there at the time and saying there is an issue with this and we need to remedy this before we can, you know, put this sink in.  They never said anything.  They slopped it on and the joint was right where the sink comes together in the back  and so the next day when It came time to put the sink in they told us, oh you have to silicone it yourself.  This is what we got from the installer.  My contractor says, they never do this they always silicone a sink to where it needs to be.  The next day the plumbers come to install the faucets and all the hardware stuff and they realized that there is no access to this thing and they had to pull the sink out and when they pulled the sink out to fix that stuff the seam came apart.  So I called them back and I was totally ticked off and they said oh you know that's not our problem and you know they didn't want to deal with it.  After screaming at them awhile they did send somebody out to fix the seam.  When they showed up they said oh there is nothing I can do with that seam.  There was another thing.  We needed a back piece on the back of the stove.  So when they came out to bring the back piece to the stove, which was also like three weeks late, later than what they promised, and installed that and he looked at where the sink was, where basically my contractor had repatched it, and says oh there is nothing we can do about that, you know, just leave it.  They wanted to charge me $200 for that.  I said are you crazy?  $200 to come out for ten minutes and do nothing.  Then it turns out that they never sealed the stone and every time we put anything on it, it just soaks right through.  They are taking no responsibility for any of the stuff.  This company is atrocious.  I would never ever recommend this company to anybody.  I mean they have beautiful stuff, much nicer than a lot of other places I have seen but the customer service and the way they've handled things is just like really horrible.

The installers were terrific. They paid a lot of attention to detail. They had to cut the granite in my kitchen and did a great job of reducing the dust, matching the seams, and making sure everything was level. The installation crew was great. The people in the show room were very helpful and accommodating.

The staff were exceedingly helpful - spent lots of time helping me make
my selection - and deciding what part of the granite slab to use.
Measurements were perfect. Installation went very smoothly. I recently referred a friend and went with her to look for her countertop. Joel and all were very helpful and patient.

the products he sold us are fantastic. I thought they were a bit pricey but in the end I feel every penny spent was worthwhile. His installers were pleasant, professional, and were able to communicate with us in a thoughtful manner. There are hundreds of granite stores in NJ and around us yet we choose to drive about 100 miles to use him.

We had a problem with the finish and they promptly sent a team down to correct this. However they missed a spot about the size of a dime or nickel on our kitchen island. Whenever I walk by this area it ruins the entire effect of the granite. I have not mentioned this to the company as I feel they should have taken care of it when they were here. Also the seal between the granite and the sinks was not thick enough to keep water from getting behind the sink. Our contractor corrected this for us.

The first time (explained later), I chose a marble for the replacement top. I specifically wanted the identical shape, dimensions and measurements of the old countertop and this was clearly explained to the representatives prior and at the time we placed the order. A person from Artistic came to measure the old top which remained in place until the replacement was ready. Approximately 10 days later, the marble countertop arrived. After it was installed, I noticed that the shape and size of the top did not match the original top. It also did not look shiny and polished. I was very upset, to say the least. Artistic in fact changed the shape of the original top without our prior knowledge or authorization. Artistic told us to come back and choose another piece of marble. But after looking through the various slabs, we chose a piece of granite. It was installed a few weeks later. I would also like to point out that I have seen a number of granite and marble tops that friends and family had installed in their homes, and in each case, the stone looked finished and polished. Not in our case. Our back and side splashes are finished and shiny, but the portion that sits flat on the vanity looks drab and unpolished. The owner of artistic claims that is the way it is supposed to look. When our friends placed their order for their granite top, at a totally different company, they were asked what type of finish they would like on their top. We were NEVER asked - in each case. We have decided not to pursue this any further, however, and will live with the top the way it is. The pattern of the granite is perfect for our look and will just live with it unpolished. All of the enjoyment of redecorating our bathroom has lost its flavor because of our bad experience with Artistic Marble, however. But I would like to say something in their favor, however. They have a really nice selection of marble and granite, but the buck stops there. My vanity top looks like it was cut and not finished. It looks drab and does not have the finished and polished look that I have seen in many other homes. We are totally disappointed and will not do business with this company again. The work was performed during the sprint/summer. The April date is not 100%. Let's just say it was between April and July, 2012.
Response from Marble & Granite Expo
"The member is a customer's that Marble & Granite Expo went above & beyond the call of professionalism to please... we are very sorry that she still seems unhappy with our service. We made multiple trips to her home to replace a custom fabricated banjo style vanity counter. Rhoda was twice given the opportunity to lay out her templates on her selected stone. The second fabrication & installment of her vanity counter was at zero cost to her & completely at the expense of Marble & Granite Expo. We continue to go to great lengths to satisfy all of our customers..."

I was so impressed from the first phone call when I was inquiring if they had the actual granite slabs on-site. Roxanne was so enthusiastic and spirited that I couldn't wait to meet her. Upon arrival at their showroom Roxanne was friendly, helpful, and a wonderful ambassador for Artisitic marble and granite. She showed me around the showroom of the actual slabs that you would pick for your kitchen. Artisic is both the retailer and fabricator of the granite which is a big help.Other places only have small samples and/or you have to go to a second location to the stone yard where you pick out your actual stone for your home. I went to a few places and Artisitc had the perfect exotic granite we were looking for.
They were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our choice. I'm so in love with my granite and it really makes a great statement in our new kitchen.
