"I unfortunately just realized that Member had given this response; initially I remember seeing a much different response from Jarrod; much more positive. As Jarrod stated, everything looked great when we were done, that's usually the case with our skilled team of installers. The real problem here which Member did not discuss is that we at Kaprelian initially specified and strongly recommended altogether different products for this project. After the initial Proposals were submitted we had to "value engineer" the entire project to meet their numbers. This meant our quote for installing heavy duty metal stair noses that were epoxied & anchored into place with heavy duty fasteners was changed to a glue only vinyl product that cost half the price. Other aspects of the job were value engineered as well, we supplied a lower quality carpet, budget flooring in mezzanine & 1st floor bar area, however they did go with a the mid quality wood floor finishing opiton. The finish on the wood dance floor was compromised quickly by poor day to day maintenance and complete disregard for our quarterly maintenance recommendations. Please understand that an estimated 8,000 hard partying drinking & dancing young people per weekend frequent this establishment. Yes 8,000 per weekend. Most Patrons have complete disregard for their surroundings while they are partying, this results in severe abuses of the materials and finishes installed. Initially we were very pleased to be awarded this project and felt it would be a nice feather in our cap; instead we soon realized that we could not get on the same page with management and that our strong recommendations and honest explanations were not understood. We had proposed a fair resolution to some of the complaints that were stemming from the everyday abuses that the flooring was taking; unfortunately in the end both parties have parted with a bit of sour taste. It has been almost 2 years now since we've completed the project; looking back, the lesson we learned as a company is that if we should not have allowed ourselves be compromised on the quality of the products and finishes just so we could be awarded a notable job like this one."

"This report and it's rating is a complete misrepresentation of the events that took place with this client, thus, a misrepresentation of our Company. The members first comment was "He came when he said he would pick up the rug." Followed by "He also came when he said he would to deliver the new cut rug." How can we then get a grade of "F" for punctuality. The cut rug and the extra pieces were bundled separately held by a piece of tape. At no time did the customer ask us to open the carpet packaging, if so we would have no reason not to; if there was a problem with the cut we would have fixed it; but apparently that is not his complaint. The carpet was a cut and bound area rug that was not to be installed; nor was the customer charged for installation. We offered free layout of the rug so long as the area was cleared; the area was not cleared and was heavily cluttered. Kaprelian goes above and beyond to satisfy our customers. The grading on this report is far from what we provide to our customers every day and far from what we have earned as a reputation for 40 years. As President of Kaprelian Carpets and Flooring I dismiss the legitimacy of this report."

"It was a pleasure to deal with this member; she and her son had many concerns regarding the quality of the carpet that they wanted to purchase. They were concerned mainly on health issues regarding off gassing and indoor air quality certifications of the prospective carpet that they were looking to purchase. Unfortunately, at that time, the better more expensive carpets had these high indoor air quality ratings. We also concentrated on wool carpeting over synthetic due to wool's indoor air quality benefits over synthetic carpets. The carpets that they focused on were mostly high end, high priced carpets that were not in their budget. There were several other important concerns that they brought up regarding the rip out of the existing carpet that had been their for over 30 years and the dust that it may create. These concerns lead me to speak to an industrial hygienist that recommended the containment of the area with plastic enclosures and air scrubbing machines to keep the dust and airborne particulates to a bare minimum during the rip out process; this of course raised the price of our work even further. So I am not surprised to receive a "C" rating from her on the pricing, although the pricing was brought on by the requests of the consumer. Kaprelian Carpet and Flooring has an extensive price range of different quality materials. We carry this wide assortment to help meet the requirements of any potential client that walks through our doors. Most importantly, the client will receive top quality service no matter what their budget, this we don't waiver or compromise.
