They quoted 3K to do the full job (cleaning, repointing and liner install. They came to do a "Solution wash" which they said cost 275 as the chimney was so dirty. When I asked them why is it so much more then the 30 dollar cleaning coupon I possessed, they said the solution was was much more complicated. When they came to do the cleaning, they just used a windex type bottle of green solution, sprayed it 10-20 times in the chimney and then did the normal clean. As they did not seal the fireplace, the whole living room, which was just painted white, was covered in black soot. The two guys tried hard but just really did not know what they were doing. I called and told them I wanted to cancel the whole job. While they let me cancel the rest of the work, I was charged 100 dollars for the "work" they preformed. I am now awaiting 400 back from my 500 deposit.
