They are amusing. They gave me a good quote saying what they are going to do. Another group of guys came not the day they were supposed to, but the next day with 4 hours late, and only did three hours of work. He did not come himself, but he sub-contracted the work out to another group. He never came out to supervise the work. A two days job took almost a week. They sent another group that was taking a short-cut instead of doing the entire work. If I had not go outside to look on it, I could not even noticed that. I called the guy who was responsible for the job, he did not even show up to see what was going on. He sent me a guy who was minimum speaking English. When I was calling the guy who has a good English to talk, he did not like that and just wanted me to text. They started the job, and I told them that what you are doing is not what I have paid for. Overall experience, I will give them a F.
We set up an appointment for an estimate and they were hours late. They finally showed up and looked around and told us that the bricks on our chimney were crumbling (which was true) and that they would need to replace the top 10 layers of bricks. They quoted us $2000 and we paid them a deposit that day. All Experienced was supposed to start the work the next day at 9am, but did not show up. We called to ask where they were, and were told that they were on an emergency call elsewhere and would come another day.
A day later (Friday), All Experienced arrived (late again), and a different employee was there. One crew removed the crap from our gutters and threw it everywhere. Another crew started taking the chimney apart and then halfway through the work decided that it would need to be replaced all the way down to the roofline and that it would cost $6000 to rebuild. That's very shady changing the price after they've already removed most of the chimney, but at this point it was getting late and we had garbage everywhere and we just wanted the work done. They continued removing the chimney in the dark and leaving bricks everywhere.
The next day (Saturday) they arrived (late again) to do the rest of the work. They rebuilt the chimney (I do think they masonry work was done ok) and then another crew came later to add the flashing and install the gutter guards. By now it was getting dark. We could tell that the inside of the chimney wasn't cleaned and they had even dropped brick pieces down into our fireplace and left them there. So we had to call the company again and complain, and then another employee finally arrived to clean out the brick pieces from the both the fireplace and the stack where our furnace vents into.
Overall, their crews left cigarette butts everywhere, left our hose out on the lawn, left bricks and cement on our lawn, left garbage and water bottles, and destroyed some of our garden plants.
We tried to use the fireplace the next day and it didn't really work at all, it was releasing smoke into the house. At this point we were furious and called them. They came back to our house a few days later and agreed that smoke wasn't going up the chimney properly, so they replaced the damper at the top and things now work ok.
