DAY ONE WENT WELL, DAY 2 A DIFFERENT SET OF MOVERS CAME OUT, MORE CARELESS WITH NO PADS. WHEN THE TRUCK ARRIVE IN SOUTH CAROLINA AUG. 2015. AS SOON AS THEY OPENED THE DOOR A 12,500 BTU AC UNIT HIT THE GROUND FROM 10 FT. AFTER UNLOADING TRUCK, CALLED DIANA BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT DAMAGES TO MY BELONGINGS. DIANA ASSURED ME PHOENIX MOVERS WAS DIFFERENT KIND OF COMPANY AND I COULD TRUST HER TO BE PAID FOR ANY DAMAGE. I WAS TOLD FOR ME AND HER MOVER TO TAKE PICTURES AND WRITE ALL DAMAGES ON BILL AND INITIAL WITH MOVER. LIST INCLUDED BROKEN AC UNIT, DENT NEW FREEZER, COMPLETELY DESTROYED GOOD ARMOUR, RIPPED QUEEN ANN CHAIR AND A SCRATCHED VERY NICE OFFICE DESK WITH A BROKEN DRAWER IN PIECES. AFTER MANY CALLS WITH NO CALL BACKS RECEIVED $100 FOR DAMAGE TO ARMOUR, WHICH HER FURNITURE MAN TOLD HER WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE REPAIRS. AGAIN TRIED TO REACH DIANA, MY QUESTION BEING, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER DAMAGE? AFTER 3 TO 4 WEEKS TALKED TO DIANAS, ASSISTANT, WHO APOLOGIZED AND REQUESTED NEW PHOTOS, BECAUSE THEY HAD LOST THE 1ST ONES AND DIANA WOULD GET BACK TO ME RIGHT AWAY. ANOTHER 3 WEEKS GO BY, GET A HOLD OF DIANA ASSISTANT AGAIN, WHO NOW SAYS, DIANA SAYS READ YOUR CONTRACT ON BACK PAGE, THAT YOU CAN HARDLY READ. I WAS TOLD DAMAGES ARE PAID FOR BY THE POUND AND THAT $100 WAS MORE THAN FAIR AND FINAL, DIANA, WAS RIGHT PHOENIX MOVERS IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF COMPANY, VERY UN-PROFESSIONAL AND A COMPANY I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY.

We were moving from my 3 bedroom house (with walk-up attic) to an off-site storage space and then to a 2 bedroom townhouse. The guys were great, they arrived on time and after a brief description of what I wanted they went to work. Even though they worked fast, they took extra care with my antique dressers and sleeper sofa. It was a hot humid day (especially in the attic) but the guys were quick and so friendly. I would recommend the Phoenix Movers again. Thank you!

Diana sent the perfect team for my small moving job and it was competed within 24 hours of my initial call. She returned my call within a couple of hours, was attentive and asked good questions during our call. Knowing it would take less than an hour she waived the minimum charge. I must have called at least 10 local movers and she was the only one who waived the minimum. They called me in the morning with an ETA and gave me another call 15 minutes before arriving. They were polite, professional and very careful of my bluestone and considerate of my home. I highly recommend Phoenix Movers and will use their service again.

I have used Phoenix Movers twice -- in June 2013 I got caught in a jam and a move that I was planning to do all myself fell apart due to some personal and professional issues and I needed people to pack and move me with very short notice.  I reached out to numerous area movers and got astronomical quotes.  When I reached Phoenix, I got a reasonable quote to pack AND move me.  The packers were efficient, considerate, and wonderful -- they did the work in 1/4 of the time it would have taken me.  The movers arrived as soon as the packers were finished and did a great job -- they treated my items with respect and made quick work of it all.  I had the need for movers again recently for a business move and reached out to Phoenix.  They again lived up to my expectations and were prompt, efficient, and reasonably priced.  I will hire them again for any future moving needs and recommend their services to friends and family all the time.

The movers themselves were great.  The loaded up the truck for 4 hours, drove 4 hours from NJ to VA, and then unloaded the truck in 3 hours, and then they had to drive back to NJ all in one day.  This was a long day and they were great sports.
My problem with the professionalism was with Diane.  She came out to my house and looked at everything and specifically asked me if I would be packing my own things.  My exact response was that I would do my best to pack what I could but anything that was left would need to be packed by the movers.  She walked around my house calculating the number of boxes that would be required.  A day later I received a quote from her for the move.
In preparation for the move, I went out and purchased boxes and started packing up as best I could.  I did not pack everything, as I expected the movers would be bringing boxes and would pack the remaining items.  Unfortunately, when the movers arrived, they were completely unaware of my need for boxes or packing.  When I spoke to Diane, she said that packing and moving are two separate things and that she would have had packers come the day before had she known that I needed packing.  This was clearly a miscommunication between us and I understood that immediately.  Due to this miscommunication, I was not able to move all of my belongings, as I simply didn't buy enough boxes to pack everything.  I had to leave things at the house to return for later.
Once we arrived in VA, I contacted Diane and asked her to work with me on the price, considering it was indeed a miscommunication and I was unable to move all of my things.  I accepted my fault in this miscommunication and simply asked her to also accept some responsibility.  She was unwilling to acknowledge her role in the miscommunication nor to budge at all on what I owed her.  Instead, she accused me of holding the movers up because I wasn't ready.  Now she has estimated it would take them two hours to load up the house but it took them four.  In no way were they waiting on me at all.  I continued to pack while they continued to load the truck and it simply took that long.  Diane had way under-estimated the amount of time and she blamed that on me.
Yes her price was good.  However, her customer service and professionalism were poor.  I wasn't looking for much, just some concession on her part.  Moving is stressful enough and I hired her because of the good reviews on Angie's List.  She did not help make it a less stressful situation at all.  I don't believe I was being unreasonable at all in asking her to work with me and I was extremely disappointed in how she handled the situation.

The basic moving services for the boxed goods was fine. The movers were friendly and efficient.
However, an 'expert' was provided for the piano, and he was anything but. He did not have the appropriate tools - - notably the mallet required for removing and re inserting the legs. This delayed completion of the job by an hour, costing me the hourly rate for three movers. He supervised and led the setup in the piano at the new house. Afterwards, it did not operate correctly. When the piano repair man came to tune and fix the piano he found:
1  The bar that operates the soft pedal was not in place  - it was left dangling under the piano
2  The dowel required for the middle pedal was missing.
3  When the repair man looked inside the loud pedal assembly to find out what was rattling, he found the missing dowel.
4  Scratches were left on the floor from repositioning the piano.
4  It cost me $135 to have the piano problems diagnosed and fixed. The scratches remain.
5  The owner of the business has been dodging my phone class for several weeks since I first spoke with her, and she told me she would call me back. She claimed that I saved a lot of money by not hiring a piano mover company for the instrument, so I still came out ahead.
I recommend this company for basic moving of boxed goods.
But I warn you not to hire them for large, valuable pieces like mine.

The two movers arrived a few minutes after 8:00 a.m. & began loading up the truck.  I don't have their names, but these two guys were great.  They really hustled. They had the truck packed & ready to go in less than 2 hours.  They were fast, friendly & careful.  The estimate (including driving time) was for 6 hours, but it only took them 5 hours total ($425 plus tip).  We had received estimates that ranged from $500-$900+ and felt this was a very reasonable price to pay.  I would definitely use Phoenix again & would highly recommend them.  Thanks for making my daughter's move go so smoothly!!

We moved from a 3rd floor apartment to a town home. Phoneix movers made it so easy and took very good care of all the glass furniture and items that we had. Not a single damage or scratch. All 4 of them were very professional and punctual. I would definitely recommend them.

How did it go?  Perfectly!  Not only are these guys (Andy, Maurice, Justin, James, and Rob) careful, quick, and efficient, they are incredibly cheerful and patient.  Both days were brutally hot and humid, yet there was not a single grumble or complaint.  They were unfailingly polite, and cracked jokes between each other and with us the entire day.  They cheerfully consulted us about where we wanted furniture, and even made suggestions for improvements to our "floor plan" that made a lot of sense. (Even though that entailed them moving heavy furniture around again.)
Now that we're unpacking the best part is this:  Not one scratch on furniture or hardwood floors, and not one dish broken.  They moved a huge freezer up a narrow stairway, they took apart (and reassembled) an enormous glass china cabinet, they moved a massive queen sized mattress around some very tight corners with no damage to any item. And did it all while smiling and joking!
You should hire Diana and her crew!

I am so happy with my moving experience today! We had Chelsea come and give us a quote a few weeks before, she said it would take 8-10 hours, plus one hour of driving, at $115/hour for three guys and a truck. We moved from a two bedroom apartment up three flights of stairs to a four-bedroom two-story house with a basement on a very hot and humid day in July. They arrived at 7:15am and the truck was filled to the brim by 10:45am. They wrapped the mattresses, disassembled all the furniture and were very careful with all of our items. They finished unloading the truck and reassembling all the furniture (except a crib, for liability reasons) by 1:15pm. They did stop for lunch (which we bought), but they ate quickly. We gave them a good tip because they were so quick and it was such a miserable day. I cannot say enough how happy I was with them. I even kept changing the locations of boxes and one big sofa and they were happy to put things where we wanted it.

She walked through every room in the house and the basement, and gave me an estimate, saying it would take three guys eight hours to move our belongings.  She said they might have to make two trips, but we moved within the same town, so travel wasn't a huge issue.  I didn't think it could be done in that time with three guys, so I asked for a four man team, which she hesitantly agreed to, saying she didn't think it was necessary, that she'd have to send another vehicle because only three men would fit in the moving van.  | |The four guys showed up a few minutes early, and were great at moving our things.  Very conscientous and pleasant to have around.  The move took the four guys 11 hours and three trips.  So, she estimated 24 man hours, and it took 44 man hours.  It was almost double her estimate.  So, that part stunk, but the movers were great.  Even the guys commented tho that this happens a lot, and they "wish they'd have someone who actually DID the moving to do the estimates."  | |Another negative on their record:  We offered them lunch, which they were very grateful for; But they stopped for lunch for 20 - 30 minutes and did not deduct that from their hours.  So, we bought them lunch (which I don't regret at all) AND paid their hourly wage (about $140/hr.) while they ate!  | |We did not argue about anything at the end of the day.  They presented the bill, and we just paid it.  We had NO energy left after 11 hours of moving and just wanted to be done, and the poor guys were exhausted as well.  Maybe they would have taken something off if we fought it, but we paid the bill and gave them each a $25 tip for being so hard-working and nice. | |Would I recommend them?  Yes, with the caveat to not trust the estimate, and maybe ask up front about breaks.  But the guys were great, and were worth any negatives that came up.  :-) |

It was a horrible experience. Most of my items were damaged. Dealing with the owner to get the situation taken care of was a nightmare. Unprepared and unprofessional movers who did not follow legal requirements of moving companies. Also, found out after the fact that they were not licensed at the time of my move. Shame on angie's list for having them listed at that time.

The movers were very attentive to detail. Work was done swiftly and efficiently.
A slight glitch occurred when they learned that an infant's room needed to be moved also. This involved disassembling a crib. The baby furniture was mentioned at our walk-thru with Diana but somehow during the actual move there was some miscommunication. Once they realized they must re-arrange the  truck to accommodate the furniture, they did so quickly and efficiently.
When we arrived at the apartment they unloaded and placed items where requested. They were very upbeat and friendly guys. They made the entire experience much less stressful than we anticipated it would be. Excellent service!

We were very pleased with them. They were very reasonable compared to other people. It took 6 hours for the move. I looked at other movers and they wanted to nickel and dime us to death about all these things that we didn't need but what I really liked about this company is they didn't try to tack on any other fees like it's going to be $180 for bubble wrap like one company did. I felt like they were honest and they didn't charge extra to move on the weekend like some of the other companies. I thought they were very good. I think we only had one thing that got injured but that's pretty good for moving.

This was by far the best experience we've ever had with a mover.  Matt and Danny were absolutely fantastic.  They worked extremely hard and were very polite and friendly.  The price quote was very accurate and fair, simply couldn't ask more from a mover.

I was mostly concerned about getting the furniture in and out of our houses without damage to them or the entrance ways of the houses because of their weight and size.  That is why we decided on professional movers.  I called Phoenix Movers and  talked with Diane who was able to schedule this move within a couple of days of my call.  It was local so it was included in other local calls she had in the area.  The price was $85 an hour plus one hour travel with no minimum required.  Two other reputable movers in the area both charged 4 hour minimums with cost ranging from $100 to $135 per hour.   On the appointed day, two young men showed up about 10 minutes early.  They were friendly, helpful, and energetic.  The move out of my house took only about 20 minutes of actual moving time.  I led them to my son's new house about fifteen minutes away. The move in was even quicker.  I showed them where the pieces were to go and they made sure that I was happy with the exact positioning of each piece. The actual total time was slightly over one hour but they did not charge me for the few extra minutes.
I was very pleased with Diane's quick response to my initial message for information about Phoenix Movers. The early arrival of the two man crew, their professional demeanor and quick work are also noteworthy.  All of these things provided at a lower cost than their competition makes for a very pleasant experience.

Diana came through with flying colors, I contacted Phoenix Movers almost a month before my settlement date of 6-24-13, Diana always assured me that she will be there and not to worry.
Her price was almost half of the best estimate we got from other Angies?s list movers, she did not charge me for overnight storage, shrink wrapping all furniture.
her 3 men crew showed up on time the day before and loaded all my stuff in one 26? truck, stored the truck overnight and showed up after my settlement at the new location fresh and ready to move, she even offered to bring a 4th guy to help out since we started late at 4:00 PM at no extra charge, she does not charge extra for overtime, after hours or weekend moving including Sunday.
We highly recommend them.  Do not waste your time calling others to get different quotes call Diana, you will get fair price for great service.
