I am moving, and was made aware of carpenter bees and carpenter ants via the buyers home inspection.  I agreed to have the problem taken care of.  I intended to use the same service that the buyers had hired for purposes of inspection.  When I phoned to make the appointment, the company failed to return my call within 24 hours.  I searched on Angie's list and found Pest Busters, who advertised beating a competitor's price.
My appointment with Pest Busters was set up within 3 business days of my phone call.  The employee arrived exactly when I was told he would, although I had called that morning and a nice lady on the phone confirmed the appointment.  He asked to review the initial inspection and confirmed the issues. He explained the nature of the carpenter bees, and what I could or could not expect from the treatment.  He treated the areas indicated, guaranteed the work for 90 days, beat the competitor's price and provided me with the original invoice for purposes of the sale of the house. 

I had another exterminator previously treat my home for bees (as we were seeing 10-15 every morning on our front porch light) -- the previous company thought they were yellow jackets, but I was pretty sure they were hornets. After a very nasty encounter with the owner of the previous company (who also told me they removed the nest) I started to treat my home myself with over the counter spray as I continued to see bees on our porch light every morning.  This week I noticed gray paper type shavings on my front lawn & after a few minutes located the hornet nest in a tree in our front yard (so as I suspected the nest was NOT removed by the previous company). 

I called Pest Blasters and the owner kindly advised that his 'bee specialist' would be calling me.  Later that morning I received a call from Jim who advised he would go to my residence that day and look at the hive to see if it can be removed.  Jim did follow-up with me after his visit and told me that the hive was too high in the tree to be removed (and tree could not be climbed -as he was willing), but Jim explained with the cold weather fast approaching, the hornets would die off shortly anyway and the nest would be inactive.. so I had to just keep doing what I was doing for another month. 

Even though they could not remove the hive, they were very nice & professional and explained everything in detail (and felt bad that they could not assist at this time).  They did not charge me for the visit or any advice given. 

I have used this company previously for squirrel removal as well and we have been very pleased with their service.  I would highly recommend them to anyone! I learned my lesson and will only call Pest Blasters in the future!!!
