The two candidates turned out to be unreliable. The second (the first quit three days before her start date) proved erratic, dishonest, and ultimately needed to be fired.

Very good so far! They do like one night a week of childcare. It's not so much like the day time or full time nanny. She comes once a week and we have had a nice experience with them. They are great and they also do a lot of good services. They do screening and background checks and everything. When I checked out their website all of the background information or all the history was pretty good. She does whatever we ask her to do; so she cooks her dinner, she plays with her, whatever we ask she does. She is flexible as far as the hours and the day of the week.

Our old babysitter, who had been watching our daughter since she was 10 weeks, was relocating after Easter and we wanted to find somebody to replace her. My husband and I were nervous about using one of the child care websites and decided to try a placement service. I promptly received a return call in which all of my questions were answered and the placement process was discussed. Sandra let me know that they would start looking for candidates as soon as they received our application. Celia quickly got back to us to let us know that she had some potential sitters and that there was one candidate she thought we should start with but made it clear that we could meet as many as we liked. We had our first interview scheduled within about a week of mailing our application. We did end up selecting the first person Celia recommended and had our first night with the new sitter this week. Our daughter is very shy but everything went really well and our daughter said she really liked her knew baby sitter. My husband and I felt more comfortable knowing that we found a new sitter through a company that places nannies and sitters than if we had used a web service. It also was nice knowing that the sitter we chose had a history of working with Neighborhood Nannies and had been screened and background checked by a company with so much experience doing so. One other nice thing about the service is that, if there ever is an evening our normal sitter isn't available, we can call them and they will have someone to fill in. The fee structure is fair.
