I initially found and contacted this company through Angie's List to get a quote for trimming - not removing - 2 evergreens at the front of my house.

An appointment was set for the owner (Pat) to come to my house on that Saturday morning for an estimate, but he never showed up. I contacted the office on Monday and another appointment was made for Wednesday morning. Pat did call me on that morning and he explained why he highly recommended not trimming, but removal (the two prices were virtually the same). We agreed that I would call Pat back by noon on his cell phone.

However, Pat's phone kept going VoiceMail and the box was full. After a few attempts, I called the office. Pat did call me back and, because I was still undecided about trimming versus removal, Pat asked what time I got home from work; we agreed to meet at 4:30 p.m., but he was not here. I called Pat, who advised that he was still at another job and would not get to my house for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. (I was VERY annoyed that he never called me to say that he would be so late.) He said my trees would be trimmed by 6:00 p.m. and I could then decide if I were satisfied or if I wanted them removed. Again, Pat was extremely late and, again, he did not call me. I waited until 6:30 p.m. to call Pat and his VoiceMail box was full; I tried again at 6:40 p.m. with the same result. I called again at 6:45 p.m. - Pat answered and said that he would be pulling up to my door in 5 minutes. In actuality, he and his crew arrived 12 minutes later, at 6:57 p.m. - which was virtually 2-1/2 hrs. after the original appointment time.

After the first tree was trimmed, I agreed that it looked very bad and authorized that both trees be removed. Pat personally chainsawed the stumps "to the ground" - but they were not actually that low. One was parallel to the ground, about an inch above the ground, and the other was on an angle, which I believed should be able to be corrected somewhat.

The crew was efficient overall and especially great about raking and blowing the debris into the street and then shoveling it all up and removing it. After Pat had left, I did point out to the last few of the crew that there were some twigs sticking out of one gutter and one person said that they would return in the morning to correct this.

The next morning (a Thursday), I did call the office regarding the tree remainders not fully to the ground and the twigs/debris in the side gutter. Pat called me back and I repeated this. He stated that, because he wanted a "5-star rating" on Angie's List and that an Angie's List customer is equal to a "$6,000 regular customer" [to him], he would come to my house on that same day to resolve these issues, either before the predicted rain or even during the rain. I also emphasized that I can understand when he is running late, but he needs to call to advise - and he agreed. However, Pat never did come back to my house on that day nor did he call me.

I waited until Sunday night (4 days after the tree removal) to e-mail Pat. He sent two replies on Monday morning: one that said "I will have my crew there by 12:00 noon today to address your issues to your satisfaction. . .Once your job is complete, I will advise you of same." and another (in response to my e-mail regarding lack of communication) that said "You are entirely correct. . .My crew will be there today to make it right." Nevertheless, no one came to my property on Monday to resolve my issues NOR did Pat call me.

On Tuesday afternoon, almost 6 days after the original work, I called and spoke to an Angie's List representative, who offered to send an e-mail to this company to communicate with me. When I arrived home on Tuesday evening, the issues had been addressed - but Pat NEVER did let me know nor did he respond to my e-mails from the prior evening. (Please see first paragraph above for final interaction.)

The problem was that he came by and wound up completely removing the tree he was supposed to just trim!! He only charged me for the work we originally agreed on, which was great, but still... now I have no tree!
The tree was in kind of mediocre shape anyway, so I'm not super upset about it, but just make sure to get some kind of written contract ahead of time or something, to make sure the right work gets done.

They did a great job of clearing out old tree stumps from my newly purchased, heavily wooded & previously neglected property in Cherry Hill. I received the final bid from Pat in the morning and they were able to come right over and complete the work same day. They worked past 6pm on a Friday night on a cold evening to get it all done - which was much appreciated!!!
They raked out & leveled all of the resulting wood chips and ensured that in the end, the lawn grading was sloping away from the house.
My neighbors have also commented that they appreciate the improved curb appeal. I will definitely use the Haddon Tree Company again.

Let us explain: The work was performed above and beyond expectations from the homeowner who stated upon completion "what a great job." She texted several days later and stated that we didn't get the Ivy covering her shed. We noted to her that removal of the remaining Ivy could cause the collapse of her shed due to rust and age. Pat and his team were exceptional. Had two trees in the backyard that needed to be pruned to clear out dead branches and give the tree more room to grow.
The team started later than expected the first and second day. I am sure that doing this kind of job you run into delays. However, they made it up in both getting the work done safely and clean up was done way beyond expectations.

* I have 12 square feet of mulch in the backyard instead of grass. They shoveled up all the mulch so they could get to the roots, put it in cans, and raked it all out again before they left.
* they had to remove my chain link fence to cut the tree down; the fence was securely back in place when I got home.
* when i got home, they were blowing away debris behind the house -- and along the road too, so there was no debris to be found.
* the tree had many, MANY, close-to-the-surface roots. All were destroyed, the stump was ground and the yard looked like the tree had never been there when they were done.

I sent a note to the provider on Sunday night with the request for estimate, noting that I really wanted the project done this week. On Monday, they called and said they would take a look, and later that day called with a quote for $400. They were on time, and completed all work in about 35 minutes. They did an excellent job of clean up.
Explaining the "B" under price: I received another estimate shortly before they called for $475, so I was happy with the $400 estimate, and agreed to that price. However, this evening I received another estimate for about $225, after the work was already completed. My fault, I should have been more patient.
Employees were professional and friendly, and the company was very responsive.
