Michaels Jewelers and Gemologist

My son wanted to surprise his girlfriend with an engagement ring. But they are together all the time. He also has very little money. I offered to donate the diamond, but he needed a ring she would like. She prefers white metals, the diamond was set in plain yellow gold. He looked up some rings on the internet that he knew she liked. And I told him to check out Michael's. It is close to our house, and I had seen similar jewelry in the shop window. But how does he go there without her knowing? So of course Mom does the shopping. They were very helpful in picking out possible styles in his price range. They even let me take pictures of the choices with my cell phone, and were so patient with me as I figured out how to use it. He looks at the pictures, finds the perfect ring, and wants it this Saturday! Why? Because he will be working in the Poconos all next week, and wants to ask her when she comes up for the weekend. And since she found out he is not working this Saturday and made all day plans, he can't sneak out to get it. Mom? Back Mom goes on Saturday morning and explains everything. Michael listened to the whole story and completerly understood; my son is not the only guy to wait till the last minute for this type of thing. He took a look at my diamond, put it under a scope, and showed me that there was a chip in it. It did not mar the look of the diamond, but resetting it could be a problem. Sometimes chipped stones can break when they are moved. But if there weren't any problems with the stone, he could probably get it done that day. So I said go for it. Michael had it done by 4:30, and it is beautiful. Heck, I want it! For my son, it is the perfect ring. That weekend in the Poconos, he takes her out to dinner, and before dessert he brings out the ring and asks her. Once she stopped hiding her face and crying, she said yes. And she loves the ring. It fits perfectly - she is a size nine, which is a little large, but Michael didn't doubt me and it fits just right. Thanks to Michael's, she has a ring that everyone gushes over, and a beautiful memory of when she got it. And my son has already paid off most of the bill on Mom's credit card too!
